People Editorial Guidelines Updated on November 4, 2024 11:13AM EST Comments Meghan Moore was getting to know a new potential partner when she received an unexpected deliveryWhat she thought was a sweet gesture ended up leading to tons of questions when the flower delivery came with a card addressed to the man's ex-wifeMoore tells PEOPLE how TikTok helped her come to peace with the moment A woman found herself in a messy situation she didn't ask for with a new man she was seeing. The truth, however, was crazier than the start of the story. Meghan Moore, on TikTok @meghan_moore_, tells PEOPLE that as a newly divorced woman, she's just getting into the dating scene. "I was with my ex-husband for six years. I've been divorced since July. I got on the apps and saw this guy who looked familiar," she tells PEOPLE exclusively. "Then, I realized he was a former client." Moore, a hairdresser, knew the man and his wife to be her clients. What she didn't know is that they had split. "I used to do him and his ex-wife's hair years ago. They wound up getting divorced six months into me doing their hair and she stopped coming to me," Moore shares. "Fast-forward to when I'm on Hinge and this guy likes my profile and I realize that was her ex-husband." Moore and the man were just weeks into getting to know each other when she received a delivery of flowers to her house. Woman Asks TikTok for Help Finding Mystery Man She Met at Concert. They Find Him — but He's Married (Exclusive) "He stayed at my house for a couple of days when the hurricane came through because he lives in an area that can flood really bad. I thought it was weird that he would send flowers, but I saw them on my Ring camera," she says. "I thought they could have been from someone else also, so I just told the babysitter who was at my house at the time to bring them in." When Moore got home, she checked out the card — and saw her new boyfriend's ex-wife's name on the card. The flowers were for her birthday, according to the very sweet card. Morgan Moore with flowers delivered. meghan_moore_/Tiktok "Happiest birthday to my one true love. I wish I never let you get away. There are not plenty of fish in the sea. I love and miss you, but I miss you extra today," Moore reads from the card in a TikTok video that has since gone viral. "After I read the card, me and my babysitter were dying. I call my best friend and she's like, 'You've got to make a TikTok right now,' so I did." It wasn't long until commenters flooded the video with different theories as to whether this was a genuine accident, or if she got the misdirected flowers for a reason. In the meantime, she sent a photo to the man. "I just sent him a picture of the flowers and the notes and made the TikTok. He texts me back like 30 minutes later and he's super confused and claims he didn't send them," she says. "I didn't believe him. I thought he did it, because why else would it be my address and phone number, but her name and a message for her? It was really weird." When the two spoke on the phone, he was "adamant" he didn't send the flowers or write the card. "He seemed really innocent and he's not a lovey-dovey guy, so the note and flowers just seemed weird," she says. "I decided, 'I'm just going to call the flower shop.' " When she called the small flower shop and shared her story with the woman on the phone, Moore found a sympathetic figure willing to help. "She's like, 'Oh honey, we're gonna help you out.' They were angels," she says. They produced a name and address, but it wasn't anyone she or her boyfriend knew. Of course, they considered the mystery sender may have provided a false name. "I do have a snark page on Reddit, where people have shared some of my information," Moore shares. "I thought someone from there might be trying to mess with me." As for the man, whom Moore continues to see though says they aren't "in a relationship," she shares, "He thinks it's crazy. He's a chill dude and doesn't seem to care too much. He's not on TikTok so he knows about the videos but doesn't care." Moore herself says it's been "funny" to see the different perspectives from followers on what will remain a mystery. "TikTok was the reason I had the inclination about calling the flower shop. It's been crazy, but it's been fun," she says. "I don't take myself that seriously, so while I worry about my safety and people sharing my address on the Internet, I have good security and a sense of humor. TikTok is a fun place."
