From stream to understory and forest environments, the film delves into native, wild, and sustainable Californian ingredients through the visionary cuisine of LA-based chef, Jordan Kahn. Treading between dream and reality, film and performance, it is a lyrical ascent into an intimate, internal gastronomic realm where surreal culinary dreamscapes, botanic forms, and wildlife evoke our deep ties to nature and the subconscious. Kahn is traced realizing and incorporating his edible creations amidst growing vegetation in the wild. A meditation on how food is interwoven with elemental forces, memories, the imagination, and the sublime, REVERIE conjures an atmosphere as rooted in our primal surroundings as it is in our fantasies.
