Fist of the North Star (北斗の拳, Hokuto no Ken in Japan) is a 2D fighting game adapted from the eponymous anime/manga of the 1980s. The game was developed by Arc System Works and published by Sega, and released on Sammy's Atomiswave arcade board in December 2005. The PlayStation 2 version of the game was published on March 29, 2007.

All the following content concerns the arcade version but also works on the PlayStation 2 version; information that only applies to the arcade version is noted with an [ARCADE] tag. This guide is translated & adapted from Pharaon's original FAQ in French posted on the Console-League forum.

In the aftermath of the Apocalypse, the world needs a hero…

A savage world is all that remains in the wake of the nuclear devastation. Warlords and gangsters have taken over the land forcing the meek into submission and killing all that oppose them. Legend speaks of one who will rise to defeat the tyrants and free the masses.
