A level of education is a completed stage of education characterized by a certain level of complexity, a certain level of competence that the level provides and a certain standard, and corresponds to a certain level of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The Law of Ukraine "On Education" defines ten levels of education.
- Preschool education Pre-primary education - NQF level zero. Complete general secondary education primary education - the first level of the NQF; basic secondary education - the second level of the NQF; specialized secondary education is the third level of the NRK. Professional (vocational and technical) education first (initial) level of professional (vocational and technical) education — second level of NRK; the second (basic) level of professional (vocational and technical) education — the third level of the NRK; the third (higher) level of professional (vocational and technical) education is the fourth level of the NRK. Vocational preliminary higher education vocational pre-higher education is the fifth level of the NRK. Higher education the initial level (short cycle) of higher education — the sixth level of the NRK; the first (bachelor) level of higher education is the seventh level of the NRK; the second (master's) level of higher education is the eighth level of the NRK; the third (educational-scientific/educational-creative) level of higher education is the ninth level of the NRK; the scientific level of higher education is the tenth level of the NRK.
