Most compilers for AS/400 produce TIMI code, which is later translated to executable machine code by low-level system software; the resulting machine code is stored alongside the TIMI code. (IBM has internal compilers to translate PL/MP into IMPI code and C++ into Power ISA code, so that they can compile the low-level system code.) undo
