After working at [[McDonalds]] for two years, Babensee decided to study art; his new-found passion. When he was in his early 20's he attended Brock University and Majored in Drawing and Painting. He always helped out a the Big Black Pig Studio. Babensee started painting all of his promiscuous women that he had "entertained". He was known for his ego, but also for his big heart. He stood up for other art classmates of his who's work were made fun of. Teachers at Brock referred Babensee as a "new Rapheal." Also Babensee was compared to Andy Warhol for his flamboyant lifestyle and his sexual ambiguity. Babensee paintings are often labeled Modern Surealism, this can be seen in the painting, "Orange Self Portrait". Eventually after graduation, he landed several successful jobs as an art teacher. When Todd turned 30 years old he got a job at a public high school called "Sir John A. MacDonald Secondary School". Quickly enough such students as, Nathaniel Raine and Justin Huber became his favorites. They inspired him into submitting some of his paintings into the Conestoga Art Museum, where you can find his "Orange Self Portrait". Also Babensee is inspired someday to become an Animator for feature film and television where he can show the world an artist does not have to die for his work to be famous. As of today, the city of Waterloo recognizes Babensee as a true Canadian Artist.
