Zalaris is a European HR & payroll solutions and services provider. Zalaris operates throughout Europe and the Asia-Pacific region, with customers in more than 100 countries. Zalaris is a publicly listed company with its headquarters in Oslo, Norway (ZAL).[2]

The company was founded in 2000[3] by Hans-Petter Mellerud.[4] Zalaris is listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange [5] since June 2014 with a market capitalisation of 440 million NOK.

Zalaris was founded in April 2000 by Hans-Petter Mellerud, the current CEO[6], with the support of Nordic Capital Partners IV AS. In 2001, Zalaris became a SAP Partner and launched its first cloud-based HR & payroll solution, PeopleHub. Later that same year, Zalaris’ first major contract was signed, when they entered into an agreement with Bravida (now Relacom). With this, Zalaris established its first service centre in Lødingen, Norway. At the start of the 2000’s, Zalaris expanded its geographical presence across the whole Scandinavian market with the acquisition of Danish company FlexLøn and Swedish company LP Lön.

Shortly after, in 2003, Zalaris entered the Finnish market with the establishment of a Finnish service centre. 2003 also saw Zalaris expand its services into SAP consulting with the formation of a Professional Services team aimed to implement and maintain SAP HCM systems. 2006 marked a breakthrough year for Zalaris with the signing of a contract with Nordea, a contract that covered 33,000 employees with fully outsourced payroll services in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.  leading to. Zalaris passing NOK 100m in revenue.[7]
