In 1850, Officer Jones, hailing from Ireland, established a private school in the historic town of Noakhali district. Initially known as RK High School, it underwent several relocations and name changes. In 1920, the school premises were engulfed by the river, prompting a move to Ghona of Mantiyar in 1921. Unfortunately, it faced another displacement due to flooding. Subsequently, on January 1, 1923, the school found a new home at RK Zubli school, and its name was changed to RK Zila School.
In 1850, Jones, an officer from Ireland, established the school privately in the old town of Noakhali district. After three years of its operation, it was renamed as RK High School. In 1920, the school premise was gone away into the riverbed. It was then shifted to Ghona of Mantiyar located in the east of Mahabbatpur in 1921. Again, it was washed away. The school was then shifted to RK Zubli school on 1 January 1923 and was renamed RK Zila School. In 1931, the school became once again a victim of river erosion and shifted to Bango School and relocated to present place in 1953. It was fully destroyed by striking of cyclone of 1958 and 1970 and then it was reconstructed.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://en.banglapedia.org/index.php?title=Noakhali_Zila_School|title=Noakhali Zila School |website=Banglapedia|language=en|access-date=23 August 2017}}</ref>

However, in 1931, the school fell victim once again to the relentless forces of river erosion. It was then relocated to Bango School until finally settling at its present location in 1953. Over the years, the school faced significant challenges, including destruction caused by cyclones in 1958 and 1970. Nevertheless, it displayed resilience and was reconstructed each time, demonstrating the unwavering commitment to education and the perseverance of the school's staff and students.<ref>{{Cite web|url=http://en.banglapedia.org/index.php?title=Noakhali_Zila_School|title=Noakhali Zila School |website=Banglapedia|language=en|access-date=23 August 2017}}</ref>
