Template:Infobox future comics War of Kings is an upcoming comic book crossover that will be published by Marvel Comics. Taking place in Marvel's main shared universe, the Marvel Universe, the series will be written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. It was announced at the San Diego Comic-Con 2008. It is scheduled to begin in 2009.[1]
Outline
The story will revolve around the Starjammers, the Shi'ar, the Inhumans, the Guardians of the Galaxy, and Nova. The story is still hidden but initial announcements tell that it will be a battle that will be held at a galactic level. The tag line up till now is "When kings collide, the galaxy will tremble". The event will start with the lead-in mini-series X-Men: Kingbreaker, which revolves around Vulcan and the Starjammers following the conclusion of the mini-series Emperor Vulcan,[2] and the Guardians of the Galaxy, which revolves around after the conclusion of their Secret Invasion tie-in, stating that Blastaar has become the new King of the Negative Zone, all will start in December 2008, and during November, the Inhumans's story in War of Kings will be planted at the end of their Secret Invasion tie-in.[3] [4] [5]
