Minecraft Dungeons is an action-RPG game set to be released in spring 2020 on Windows, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. [1] It can be played solo or online with up to four players. [2]

Development

It was created by Mojang under the creative director Mans Olsen, using the Unreal Engine. [3]

Gameplay

Unlike the original Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons has no crafting, building, or the ability to destroy blocks. Instead it focuses on being a dungeon crawler game, where you explore randomly generated dungeons filled with randomly generated monsters, deal with traps and puzzles, and find treasures.[4] [5]

There is no class system. Anyone can use any weapon or armor they wish. [6]

Reception

Shacknews calls it "a fun, laid back dungeon crawler for friends to get into". [7]
