BattyBot

BattyBot made this change which resulted in category links being added after userboxes. Ultimately, I think the categories should be removed from this userbox (and I am going to pursue making this change) but I wanted you to be aware of how this change is affecting users. (please ping me if you reply) Etamni | ✉ 16:02, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Etamni: Thanks for making me aware of this issue. I'll have to think about how to prevent this in the future. In these edit, I readded Category:Userbox user templates and added Category:Wikipedia:Autism (which seems to be better than Category:Autism), and put them within <noinclude>...</noinclude> so they won't impact user pages. Feel free to remove one or both of these categories if they don't apply. Hope this helps! GoingBatty (talk) 16:21, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

References problem

Can you please take a look at the two pages in Wikipedia:CHECKWIKI/061 dump? -- Magioladitis (talk) 23:44, 10 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Magioladitis: I'm not an expert with how to use quotes with {{sfn}}, so I posted at Talk:Chicken Kiev#Request help fixing red errors for referencing and Talk:John Lennon#Request help fixing red errors for referencing. GoingBatty (talk) 01:31, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe Redrose64 could help with this? -- Magioladitis (talk) 08:37, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This is probably Template talk:Sfn#Interaction with new cite error detection and that archived VPT thread. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:01, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

BattyBot fixing pages

Hi, in this edit, BattyBot altered |pages=page 20 to |pages=20, but as there's only one, surely it should have become |page=20? --Redrose64 (talk) 08:22, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Redrose64: Thanks for the suggestion. I'll update the bot's find/replace rules before running it again so that future edits will change |pages=page 20 to |page=20. However, I won't go back through the bot's previous edits to change |pages=20 to |page=20 since that wouldn't change the way the citation is displayed to the reader. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 16:25, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Done! For an example, please see this edit. Thanks again! GoingBatty (talk) 20:39, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Great, now for the opposite - see this edit where |page=pp51–53 |page=pp88–90 |page=pp90–92 |page=pp86–88 became |page=51–53 |page=88–90 |page=90–92 |page=86–88 but should really have become |pages=51–53 |pages=88–90 |pages=90–92 |pages=86–88. --Redrose64 (talk) 10:22, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

wpbs

Can you please resume the WPBS addition this time starting from Jazz-project template? Or more generally, start from redirects with size ~1000 tranclusions. My updated list is located here. -- Magioladitis (talk) 08:55, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Magioladitis: Yes, I can work on this some more. Will you be sending any of the unused redirect templates to RfD? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 16:27, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@GoingBatty: we have to be selective on that. I do not think it will be consensus for all of them. I try to figure out a way to group the ones that that be really be deleted or re-purposed. For example I think {{Composers}} should replace {{Composers by nationality}} instead of being a redirect of a wikiproject. -- 16:32, 11 December 2015 (UTC)
@Magioladitis: Doing... GoingBatty (talk) 02:19, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Magioladitis: Done - updated over 10,000 talk pages. GoingBatty (talk) 11:43, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Henzel

Could you please take a look at the article about Dominik Henzel that I created a few weeks back. It is up for AfD but the main reason for deletion seems to be article quality. So if there is any improvements that you can see that could be made, please do. Regards,--BabbaQ (talk) 23:48, 12 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@BabbaQ: Done! In addition to adding more references to establish notability, could you please check reference #3? It seems to link to an article about Daredevil. Also, could you please add a |trans_title= parameter for each reference? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 01:03, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have added two new sources. Oh, and thanks for the suggestions as always. Regards,--BabbaQ (talk) 01:06, 13 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

BattyBot and WikiProject templates

Hi, I just noticed this edit where the bot added the {{WikiProjectBannerShell}} template and updated {{WP Television}} to {{WikiProject Television}}, but it missed out the {{WP Fictional characters}} template, and wondered if maybe there's a list of WikiProjects that needs updating or something else you might need to do so this doesn't get missed out in the future. AnemoneProjectors 15:37, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@AnemoneProjectors: Thanks for the heads up! I just added the redirect to User:Magioladitis/WikiProjects. I will add it to my bot and then rerun it. I'll also manually review each page that contains {{WP Fictional characters}} to clean up after my bot, similar to your edit. Thanks again! GoingBatty (talk) 15:47, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There's a similar question on WT:DYK#Putting old DYK notices at the top of the talk page, regarding edits such as here, which place the DYK above the (new! highly welcome!) banner-shell instead below where the DYK bot put it, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:53, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Gerda Arendt: Yes, I spent a few minutes crafting a response, and Magioladitis beat me to it. If there is consensus to change WP:TPL, I will not run the bot task again until AWB has been changed. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 16:03, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, no rush;) - just that we DYK people hear too often that we think DYK comes first, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:21, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@AnemoneProjectors: I have completed the manual review, and added {{WikiProjectBannerShell}} to a few more pages. Thanks again! GoingBatty (talk) 19:23, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I think that this edit, which moved {{WPWA}} and so excluded it from the shelled banners, is related. --Redrose64 (talk) 21:45, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Also this edit and {{WPJW}}. --Redrose64 (talk) 21:57, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Thanks for the heads up! I've added them both to User:Magioladitis/WikiProjects and my bot. I'm running my bot over {{WPWA}} and {{WPJW}}, and then will fix any that my bot excluded from the WPBS. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 23:02, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: Done! Thanks again! GoingBatty (talk) 23:52, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

Do you think I should go and fix AWB to match the new guidelines or wait a few days? -- Magioladitis (talk) 13:51, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Magioladitis: There doesn't seem to be any objections to the change to WP:TPL, but I'm in no rush to do any more talk page fixes. FYI - I posted at User talk:Shubinator#Talk page layout to ensure the DYKUpdateBot operator knew about the conversation, but I'm not sure how to respond to Shubinator's comments. GoingBatty (talk) 17:44, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

rev 11757 updated AWB's code to match consensus. -- Magioladitis (talk) 20:04, 17 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Magioladitis: - Installed - thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 15:04, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder whether we should ask to run AWB bots in talk pages to correct placement of DYK. -- Magioladitis (talk) 15:06, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Magioladitis: Yes, I think it would be appropriate to ask at Wikipedia talk:Did you know#Putting old DYK notices at the top of the talk page. If there's consensus at that discussion, you could reference it in your BRFA. Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 15:18, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
