DYK for Disappearance of Cecilia Strzyzowski

On 2 March 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Disappearance of Cecilia Strzyzowski, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the 2023 Argentine provincial elections were overshadowed by the disappearance of Cecilia Strzyzowski? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Disappearance of Cecilia Strzyzowksi. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Disappearance of Cecilia Strzyzowski), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Speedy deletion nomination of Results of the 1945 United Kingdom general election

Hello Moondragon21,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Joseywales1961, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Results of the 1945 United Kingdom general election, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Constituency election results in the 1945 United Kingdom general election. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Joseywales1961}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rationale for splitting 2024 United Kingdom general election in England into separate articles

I'm struggling to see your rationale for splitting the above article into separate articles for each region. Not only is there no precedent of doing this for previous elections, but it makes it much harder to navigate and glean the details of the election from the article. On top of this, there was no prior discussion nor consensus sought for this.

A tag has been placed on Category:Candidates for the 2007 French legislative election indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Oldham West and Royton (UK Parliament constituency) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Oldham West, Chadderton and Royton (UK Parliament constituency). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you.
