Bar Rosen (born April 1, 1974) is an Israeli actress and model, most known for her roles in Parcels and The Trumpets and in the American sitcom Abrahama.
Biography
Rosen was born in Lehavim, a suburb of Be'er Sheva, Israel, the daughter of Rachel, an Australian-Israeli english teacher, and Yitzhak Rosen, a Jerusalem-born career soldier who met Rosen's mother by his sister. She has two siblings; her older brother, Nethanel, is a theatrical designer, and her younger sister, Liat, is a student of international affairs.
Blanchett attended primary school in Be'er Sheva before she attended the Israeli Defence Forces in the army's theater and studying theater in the University of Tel Aviv before leaving Israel to travel overseas. When she was 24, she visited the United States and started learning acting.
Career
When she came back to Israel in 1997 she had her first role in the Drama series "Tironut". In 1998 she took the main role in the Israeli film "Shlosha Sipurei Ahava" ("Parcels") that won the Academy Award of the best foreign film of 1998. That win gave her the breakthrough in the United States. In 1999 she flew again to the United States, there, she auditioned for parts in films like Birthday Girl, The Invisible Circus and The Man Who Wasn't There. In 2000 she starred in a the film Lidocaine Buffet next to Matthew Perry. The writer of the film, Michael Patrick King, was just working on Abrahama for FOX and he suggested Rosen for the part of Jane Jameson.
