A very Old Kannada author , Gajaga, ( Gaja meaning Elephant) of ninth/ tenth century ( earlier name= Gajankusha)has been mentioned in shabdmanidarpana of Kesiraja, as a pathbreaking poet of the Old ages . No texts of this author have been recovered till date, except his name mentioned as aforesaid.
