Cvetnitsa,Tzvetnitsa,Tsvetnitsa,Vrabnitsa (Palm Sunday)(The flowers day) also called Vrubnitsa (Willow Day) is an important festivity for Bulgarians.Cvetnitsa is one of the biggest Bulgarian holidays, rich in a variety of customs, songs and melodies. The holiday is held annually on the last Sunday before Easter and it is the people’s belief that this is the holiday of the fields, meadows and forests.

On the Sunday before Easter Sunday when Christians commemorate Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem through a crowd waving palm branches, Bulgarians also celebrate the so called “Flower Sunday” to welcome spring and close the cycle of adolescent girls’ vernal rites.
