  • January 23 - Juan Manuel López knocksout Steven Luevano in the 7th round to become the WBO Featherweight Champion. This leaves Lopez's former WBO Super Bantamweight Title vacant. The fight was Luevano's sixth attempt of defending his title.
  • February 5 - Glen Johnson at 41 years of age, knocksout Yusaf Mack in the sixth round.
  • February 6 - Tomasz Adamek outpoints Jason Estrada to win by decision.
  • February 13 - Nonito Donaire knocksout Manuel Vargas in the third round to defend his interim WBA world Super Flyweight Title.
  • March 13 - Manny Pacquiao defeats Joshua Clottey by controlling the fight from start to finish leading to Pacquiao winning by a decision. The fight was held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas in front of nearly 51,000 people. This was Pacquiao's first defense of his newly awarded WBO Welterweight Title. This was the largest American attendance in 17 years. The third largest American attendance in fifty years.
  • March 13 - Alexander Povetkin knocks out Javier Mora in the fifth round. After Mora was knocked down in rounds one and two and finally in round five before the referee stopped the fight.
  • March 20 - Wladimir Klitschko knocksout Eddie Chambers with a fierce left punch that hit Chambers in the temple with only five seconds left in the fight. The punch knocked out Chambers nearly instantly, with him collapsing to the canvas hanging off the last rope. This was Klitschko's first defense of his Ring Magazine title, his fourth defense of his WBO title, and his eighth defense of his IBF and IBO titles.
  • March 27 - Arthur Abraham is disqualified to lose to Andre Dirrell in the eleventh round. Abraham was knocked down in fourth round for the first time in his career, and later got a cut over the right eyebrow in round seven. The fight was part of the Super Six.
  • March 27 - Erik Morales comes out of a nearly 32 month retirement to defeat José Alfaro by decision.
  • March 27 - Pongsaklek Wonjongkam defeats Koki Kameda by a majority decision to win the WBC Flyweight Title and vacant Ring magazine Flyweight championship.[1] This is the second time Wonjongkam was had the WBC Flyweight Title, after first winning it back in March 2001 and defending it seventeen times. Until he lost it to Daisuke Naito in July 2007.
  • April 3 - Bernard Hopkins beats Roy Jones Jr. by a decision. The fight was a rematch to there May 1993 fight where Roy Jones Jr. won the vacant IBF Middleweight Title. The fight itself got little attention from the boxing media, even though it was so historic.
  • April 3 - David Haye stops John Ruiz in the ninth round, knocking him down four times. This was Haye's first mandatory defnce of the WBA Heavyweight title.
