Good Evening

Hello, would you please care to discuss your reverts and changes to the Duke of Hamilton article? Where is your information from? I find it a little odd that these have been changed without proper referencing, so they are going back until you can prove that my antecedents called themselves otherwise. I on occasion, call myself Hamilton, rather than Douglas-Hamilton, just for ease of usage, that doesn't mean that is the correct surname in a formal situation. Regards. Duke of Manchester

Thank you for the coat of arms – it looks nice. Finally a positive contribution to this article.

Re:

I've always discussed about this and I agreed with Heralder the use of the official version of the Coat of Arms of Spain in the infobox. That's all. Best Rastrojo (DES) 13:07, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, we discussed it on Commons commons:User_talk:Rastrojo#Archivos_Usuario_Heralder :-) Rastrojo (DES) 23:06, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Heraldist requests

There is an explanation at the French Wikipedia [1] (Armoiries ou logotype ? section). It is based on this Spanish source of the Director of the University of La Rioja (Spain) an heraldist: [2] but there is another problem because this web is deleted.

There is a complet explanation at the end of the 1st chapter "El escudo" (I can't remember the pages) in the best and biggest book of Spanish heraldry:

  • Menéndez-Pidal De Navascués, Faustino; El escudo; Menéndez Pidal y Navascués, Faustino; O´Donnell, Hugo; Lolo, Begoña. Símbolos de España. Madrid: Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales, 1999. ISBN 84-259-1074-9,

This is a book it is no avaiable at a digital version and I think there aren't editions with traslations to foreing languages.

I hope this information would be useful for you.

In my opinion the current version (with the official arms and the heraldist request proposal is the best and most precise information for the article Coat of arms of Spain (but this is only a personal opinion)

Regards and thanks you
