Chloe Elizabeth Lukasiak (born May 25, 2001)[1] is an American child dancer, television personality, and model. She is best known for being an original cast member of Lifetime's reality television series, Dance Moms from 2011-2014 (Seasons 1-4).

After leaving Dance Moms, Chloe has continued her dance training at Studio 19 Dance Complex, near Pittsburgh, helping her new team to several wins while starting a prolific career of dance videos, acting auditions, modeling, special appearances. Lukasiak has an active social media presence, with nearly than 3 million Instagram followers, more than 300,000 Twitter followers, and more than 500,000 subscribers on Youtube, where her dance videos have been viewed more than 1 million times. Her sister Clara also has her own Youtube channel with over 100,000 subscribers.

Personal life

Lukasiak was born on May 25, 2001 in Churchill, Pennsylvania[1] to Christi Lukasiak and Marc Lukasiak. Lukasiak has an eight-years-younger sister, Clara. She and her family reside in Mars, Pennsylvania.[2]

Lukasiak began dance classes at the Abby Lee Dance Company (Reign Dance Productions) at age two.[2] From the ages of four to thirteen, Lukasiak competed throughout the United States as part of the Abby Lee Dance Company, winning titles at regional, state, and national levels from the competitive dance industry. She has won numerous titles at regional, state and national dance competitions and competed in many genres: lyrical, contemporary,[2] musical theatre, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and Bollywood.

On June 30, 2015, it was confirmed that Chloe had begun dating Ricky Garcia. Ricky stars in the Disney Channel show Best Friends Whenever.

Dance Moms

In 2011, Lukasiak and her mother, alongside Abby Lee Dance Company owner Abby Lee Miller, other young dancers, and their mothers, were cast on Lifetime’s Dance Moms. Together they made up Miller's "Junior Elite Competition Team," and their activities as such were presented on the show. Because of the show, the team learned new dances each week and traveled to weekly competitions as far away as Florida, Texas, and California. Off the show, they had nightly, hours-long dance classes and occasional non-televised ALDC competitions. They filmed reunion shows, special episodes, and interviews, becoming well-known and experienced at photo shoots, television performance, competing, and live appearances. Lukasiak and her teammates modeled for various fashion lines, including Glitzy Girl and Sally Miller.[2] They also appeared in music videos for older teammate Brooke Hyland[3] and musical artist Lux (daughter of actor Ted Danson), the latter of which featured Lukasiak as Lux's younger self.[4]

An ongoing Dance Moms storyline stemmed from conflicts between Lukasiak's mother, Christi, and Miller over treatment of Lukasiak that frequently crossed the line from strict criticism into personal disparagement. Her status as a "favorite" with both fans and the network forced Miller to feature her in solos and group dances, but Miller began a campaign to treat Lukasiak so badly that her mother would quit.[5] When Lukasiak's mother refused to sign a new studio contract in 2014, Lukasiak was still required to film and compete for Dance Moms, and the student/teacher relationship seemed to disintegrate completely.[6] In July 2014, after the Los Angeles national competition (filmed for an episode aired October 7, 2014), continued contact with Miller was considered too detrimental to Chloe, and the Lukasiaks decided that their time with Dance Moms was finished.[6]

Today's Chloe

Although no longer on television, Lukasiak continues to share her life with fans via Youtube, where she posts dance videos as well as personal life videos every week. Her personal videos have featured DIY baking tutorials, "tags" (interviews) and fun times with sister Clara, fan Q&A's, morning and night routines, book club reviews, closet tours, shopping "haul" videos, and travel videos.[7] She attends public school and will begin high school in Sept. 2015. She enjoys the music of Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and Fifth Harmony. Also, she likes to read, write stories, play basketball, and travel.[8] Between dance classes, projects and personal appearances, she finds time for friends -including Paige Hyland, former ALDC teammate since they were toddlers (and Dance Moms co-star).[9] Videos featuring the pair can be found on Lukasiak's YouTube channel as well as Hyland's.[10][11]

Team Chloe Dance Project

Lukasiak has continued dance training with Studio 19 Dance Complex, located in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.[11][12] The Team Chloe Dance Project[13] features Lukasiak and her new dance teachers and teammates as she shares her continued dance training in ballet, acro, hip hop, and combo classes, as well as dance competition rehearsals and performances with her new team.

Music videos

Since leaving Dance Moms, Lukasiak's dancing talent has been sought after by several music artists. On February 25, 2015, she made her first official music video appearance outside Dance Moms as the lead for Jess Godwin's song "Fool Me Once".[14] She has also been hired to perform in videos for Solveig Romero's "Turn It Up" [15] and Bianca Ryan's "Alice."[16] On her own, Lukasiak worked with choreographer Zachary Vanegas and director Brazil on a new video for "Love Is Blindness" by Jack White, itself a cover of the U2 song.[17] She has also released brief dance videos choreographed by her dance teachers to songs such as "Earned It" by Weeknd[18] and "Stay Alive by Jose Gonzales.[19]

Competitive Dance

Lukasiak began competing for the Studio 19 Dance Complex team in March 2015, participating in award-winning group dances on the junior, teen and senior level.[20] She also competes a senior-level, anti-suicide duet with teammate Madelyne Spang, choreographed by Shannon Mather, called "Hangin' By A Thread," and fans can see both a competition performance video [21] and a music video[22] of this important, award-winning[20] piece.

Modeling and Causes

In September 2014, Lukasiak became a spokesmodel for Just For Kix, an American dancewear company. With the company's partnership, she created an anti-bullying campaign called #NobodyisYOU.[23] The campaign began with a brief video featuring Lukasiak (released online immediately after her final episode of Dance Moms on October 7, 2014). This was followed by two longer dance videos with positive messages: the anti-bullying "Skyscraper" (featuring the Demi Lovato song and choreographed by Blake McGrath and Shannon Mather)[24] and "Unbreakable," a dance with a message against child abuse.[25] Chloe appears throughout the Just For Kix catalogs and website.[26]

Acting

After her non-scripted role on Dance Moms, Lukasiak has expressed interest in real acting and has worked with coach Lori Lively. She visits Los Angeles often to audition and has been cast in an upcoming film[2] and a TV show.
