Juggernaut: The New Story (branded as Juggernaut: The New Story for Quake II) is an unofficial total conversion mod developed for id Software's Quake II by Canopy Games.
Plot
The storyline is independent from Quake II. The protagonist is sent to Jupiter's moon, Callisto, which was colonized by humanity. In order to adapt to Callisto's atmosphere, the settlers, Callistans, started bio-genetic research program, which tragically resulted in them being transformed into monstrous cyborgs. Now, they are threatening the colony on the neigbourhood moon, Europa. The protagonist's assignment is to put an end to the Callistans' war machine.
Gameplay
Game plays out the same way as original Quake II, but features new campaign with 11 levels with an independent storyline within a new setting, 2 new weapons and about 5 new monsters. The Strogg monsters from Quake II represent Callistans, the game's antagonists. The campaign puts a heavy emphasis on combat: the progression is much more linear than that of original game, but enemy count per level is high, and the new enemy types posses a lot of hit points.
