Siliclastic rocks are clastic noncarbonate rocks that are almost exclusively silicon-bearing, either as forms of quartz or silcates.

Silicate rocks have a crystal structure containing the tetrahedra SiO4, either isolated or joined to one or more oxygen atoms to form groups, chains, sheets, or structures. They are classified according to their crystal structure. For example: nesosilicate, sorosilicate, cyclosilicate, inosilicate, phyllosillicate]], tectosillicate.
