From M.E. to Myself (和自己對話) is JJ Lin's 12th album which was released on 25 December 2015. This is his experimental debut album after two years of delving into dummy head recording. All tracks in this album were recorded using the dummy head recording technology which creates a true stereo surround sound. In this album, JJ created various scenarios, such as in a forest, in a bedroom, in a concert hall and also in a car.[1]

The album was promoted with six singles— "Twilight", "Adolescent" featuring Mike Chang and Shin Chou, "The Key", "A Song For You Till The Tnd of Time", "By Your Side(bedtime)","Too bad" — in which all of these songs have attained the chart success. The album ranked at number one on the Taiwan Five Music Year-end chart, which occupies the largest market share in Taiwan. Upon its release, From M.E. to Myself received generally positive reviews from music critics, who commended its experimental recording, emotional themes, and JJ's songwriting. This album earned JJ two Golden Melody Awards for the Best Composer and the Best Mandarin Male Singer[2],also a Pensado Award for the Best Non-english Song.[3]

Reviews

On 24 November 2015, Warner Music Taiwan held a pre-launch listening event for the album and received rave reviews from all guests. Hansheng Liu, the chief editor of "Audio Forum", commented that "Although this is an experimental album, it highlights the integrity of an album by telling stories. In this album, I think JJ is himself in real life and this awesome technology exactly recorded his natural, sincere voice."[4] QQ Music ranked 4.2/5 for this album.,[5] said "A totally fresh album. JJ tried to reframe auditory environment and atmosphere to give the audience a different sound. What's more, he explained his own views about the surrounding world and solved some confusion in his life in the name of 'talke yo myself'. Finally, excellent melodies make the album impressed to the public."
