- ISBNs date from 1965. Ref 114 is a 1914 publication, so unlikely to have been issued a number. In general, book refs do not need access-date since, unlike online sources, they are presumed to remain unchanged from year to year; the purpose of access-date is to say 'on this date, this source served as a reference for this assertion'. So, no fixes needed. Also, maybe take a look at Template:Cite book as a starter-for-ten in learning how to fix issues yourself. Why does my reference appear in blue?
Until today, I always used the {{cite}} templates for my citations. Since they don't have a part=
parameter, though, I ventured to create a citation, #6 in Quotation marks in English, without a template. Its text is as I intended, but it has a light blue background. How do I correct this? Peter Brown (talk) 03:58, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- How are you accessing the reference? Whenever a reference is accessed from its superscript number in the textbody, it will be highlighted in a light blue background. Is that what you mean? –Ammarpad (talk) 04:48, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
- Peter Brown There's nothing wrong with the citation. All links are shown in blue font, and external links to other websites appear in a slightly paler blue than wikilinks to other Wikipedia articles (at least in Monobook skin). As Ammarpad says, if you click on the reference index (here, "6") in the text of the article, the screen display jumps to the reference list, and the reference you selected is highlighted in blue for ease of picking it out. The highlighting is not present for other readers, nor for you next time you return to the article: Bhunacat10 (talk), 09:33, 3 January 2019 (UTC)

Help with publishing David Mobley (entrepreneur) wiki article
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
My username is Ihelptocontribute. Can someone help a fellow Wikipedian to view the Edit History for the David Mobley (entrepreneur) Wiki to understand why my revisions were reverted back by another Wiki user? The Wiki user Praxidicae did not provide an explanation, and I have reached out to this Wiki user on their talk page, in which my question was quickly deleted. I reached out in the David Mobley (entrepreneur) Wiki talk page and haven't received a reply from the Wiki user also. Can someone help to to finalize the revisions for this article so it can be published for viewing, or help me to understand what needs to be revised so this article can be completed for viewing?

- Ihelptocontribute, looking over that edit, I understand why Praxidicae reverted it.
- That is a major change in the article's focus. Prior to that edit, the article focused on his music career, which is probably what most people reading the article are interested in learning about. After that edit, the article focused on his air freshener business, with his music career seeming like an afterthought.
- The "career" section of your version reads like an advertisement in places, with phrases like "Wonder Wafers Air Fresheners are the first of it's kind, air activated air fresheners, meaning they don't need to be sprayed, plugged in, or lit with a flame," and, "Wonder Wafers Air Fresheners and Super Wonder Wafers Air Fresheners can be found in automotive stores, convenience stores such as Circle K, car washes, dealerships, hotels, retail stores, and truck stops."
- Although you cited a number of sources in the "Career" section, most of them do not meet our reliable source and independent source guidelines. You've cited a number of primary sources in the form of the actual patents for the products, and you've also cited the company's website and marketing materials frequently. While some use of a company's website or primary sources is ok, it's best to have the bulk of the content be sourced from reliable secondary sources.
- The placement of your references does not make clear which source supports what content. You do not make good use of inline citations to specifically associate bits of information with their sources, rather you lump a bunch of citations together at the end of several un-cited paragraphs.
- The focus of the article before your edits was on his music career. The "Music career" section after your edit was much shorter than the previous article, leaving out all the information about how "Mobley has been in the business and entertainment industry since 1970" and "Crosswindz recorded their first album titled "High Park" in 1972." Moreover, just like in the section about the air freshener, your edits sound promotional, with phrases like, "David first discovered the joy of music when The Beatles took the stage on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964," and "David and Cliff released future albums, and are still best friends to this day."
- The addition of a discography section is a helpful addition to the article, but the Music Videos, Awards and Achievements, and Online Radio sections are all unsourced. I also am not clear what information the Online Radio section is even trying to convey.
- The Philanthropy section is extremely vague. Why even include it if that's all you can say about his philanthropic endevors?
- Ultimately, your edit wasn't all bad. If his involvement in the air freshener business is really that signifigant, the article should include more about it than was there before. Likewise the addition of some of the other sections you added is a useful additon and better than the wall of text that was the second paragraph of the Career section before. However, the complete change in article focus, the promotional tone of what you added, and the poor sourcing mean it was entirely reasonable for Praxidicae to revert your edit. - If I were you; I'd take a major revision of an article like that much, much slower. I do think that article needs major revision and expansion. I'd start by breaking the second paragraph of the article up into a prose section and a discography. Then I'd wait a day or two and add a section on the air freshener businesess. Finding my no.xxx edit?

- Simply use your contribution history from oldest with a limit equals to the Nth edit you're looking for.
- For example, the first line of https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&dir=prev&limit=1000&contribs=user&target=JackintheBox&namespace=0 is your 1000th edit in the main (Article) namespace.

- Yeetmcyote I'm not sure what you mean by, "how do I Wikipedia?" You seem to be using Wikipedia as a verb, when it is actually a noun. Are you wanting to know how to edit articles? How to create an article? How to cite sources? How to cite Wikipedia as a source in some other paper? Book creator
Hello,
I see the Wikipedia PDF book creator has been in development for some time now. I am starting to wonder about Wikipedia's intentions. I have a few questions about why it's taking so long, or maybe if they are ever going to go back to a book creator (adding or combining many wiki pages into one PDF).
Will Wikipedia be using PediaPress from now on? Or was this only temporary until the book creator is finished? Will Wikipedia be getting rid of PediaPress once the book creator is finished? When will the book creator be complete? Does Wikipedia intend to leave it as it is now, or finish the book creator? Will there be a charge for using the book creator?

- There is an update page here. According to it, as of August, they are working with PediaPress on the PDF book creator software, it seems there are some glitches they are working out. Photo edits and text edits
Hello, I have been trying to edit the sivananda yoga page but have now been blocked. I work for the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres and we wished to put the proper content on this page to correctly show what sivananda yoga is. We came to realize that we could not upload new photos until making 10 edits/changes and waiting the necessary time to confirm our account. We began making edits but the edits continued to be undone even after we tried also inserting cites and links throughout the text. Is there any way we can atleast change the photos to properly show our postures? How can we get de-blocked from editing? And how can we be blocked to begin with when all the information we are trying to provide is coming straight from the origin of this page/the business it belongs to? Uploading a Certain Image
I am trying to upload a certain image found here or here for an article on Wikipedia that I'm trying to make about the video game. I'm unsure if it is alright to use this image as it does not clearly state anywhere if the image is copyrighted. Other articles about games do use title images but I am unaware if permission was required to use them. - @Diesel0307: In the absence of info to the contrary, we assume images are copyrighted and unlicensed. One unlicensed image is typically allowed in the infobox of a published game article (not a draft like your sandbox) to visually identify the subject. —teb728 t c 22:41, 3 January 2019 (UTC)
