The films begin with grand birthday celebrations of Bagdad princes Faruk Vazea Hussian, taking this as opportunity Chief Commander Vazeer Hussain forcibly collects taxes from the public. Sultan (Mikkilineni) realizes how much people in his kingdom are frustrated by this, so, one night Sultan travels to search the city in disguise to identify the truth. Vazeer kills him and confines his Began Saheba (Pandari Bai) in jail and also tries to kill the Prince but he was rescued by Ibrahim (Mukkamala) a blind royal agent who is loyal to dynasty. Vazeer is successful in convincing public that Sultan went to Mecca trip along with his family and entrusted responsibility of the kingdom to him. Ibrahim shifts his family to Basera, Faruk grows in the name of Abu (N. T. Rama Rao). Abu a kind-hearted robber whose motto is to rob the rich and feed the poor along with his friend Ali (Padmanabham). Abu one day enters Basra sultans palace Basera proncess Naseem sees him and loves him. Vazeer Hussian also comes to Basera to marry Naseem. |

Basera Sultan is fond of different and special items. He likes the magic horse brought by hussian and offers his daughters hand. Naseem refuses to marry him. Hussian catches Abu and hands over sultan and he was put in jail. |

Naseem leaves the palace in search of Abu was trapped by merchant whos business of selling slaves . some how she escapes and comes in to fold of Vaseer Hussain. Hussian brings her to Baghdad. Ali with help of his lover frees Abu. |

Abu and Ibrahim come to know that Nazeem is in Baghdad. Abu reaches Baghdad enters the palace and remembers that is where he spent his childhood and he is prince. He meets Nazeem. Abu does many robberies and attains name as Theif of Baghdad. |

Ali as the street make trides like monkey and was converted to monkey as his friend Ali and keeps him in the palace at sadiq Vazeer’s son. Nazeer pretends love with Nazeer and finds out Abu’s mother who is in jail she makes Vazeem to drink a lot and steals the jail keys with the help if which Abu releases his mother. |
