I didn't like "captivated in the dark" and everybody say they have similarities so I'm kind of afraid this one won't be better although the blurb sounds very intersting! Should I just give it a try?

The first book i…moreI have read both this and Captive in the Dark series, but I can honestly say you'll get more first person brutality from this series. The first book is a bit rough around the edges (meaning how it was written, lacks much needed editing), but the plot is good and gets better throughout the series. It's not for everyone by any stretch of the imagination. It's dark, not like sexy bondage dark, but kidnapping, rape and torture dark (and some sexy bondage dark too). And 'Tears' it's less about revenge and more about the characters healing, I personally don't associate the two series but I can see how some people would. (less)

I loved the Indebted Series. Does it seem to anyone else that Pepper Winters work has continually become more gruesome? I haven't had the chance to read all of her work. Maybe it's just the latest books.

Each one of them is different, the only similarity is that they are dark in their own way.(less)
