The Grey Wolves #5

Beyond the Veil

Rate this book
Though the Serbian pack has been brought to heel thanks to the downfall of their Alpha, the war is far from over.
Desdemona, a witch of unfathomable power, has escaped the wolves’ wrath, but she will not go quietly into the night. She takes refuge in a place where even the smallest sliver of light does not dare to enter. Though she had to flee, she has not given up on the treasure she wishes to acquire. Her depravity knows no bounds; she's even willing to search for the one who can assist her in opening a Veil that has not been opened in millennia – with good reason: the danger is incalculable.

Meanwhile, there are major changes rippling through the Romanian Grey wolves. Decebel has become Alpha to the Serbian pack in an effort to begin to unite the Canis lupis species. Their numbers are dwindling in the wake of the shortage of true mates and lack of offspring. The wolves are beginning to lose faith and darkness seems to be crashing in on them from all sides. But the winds of change are blowing, changes that will alter the future of not only the Canis lupis, but of another ancient race as well.
Amidst all of this, Sally is continuing to come to terms with her relationship with the playful, charming, flirty, unbelievably handsome bartender – who happens to be a member of the Romanian pack.
If all that wasn’t enough, the Fates have decided to pay a little visit to Jen. It’s time to collect. She cheated the Fates of a life, her life. Now they want what they are due. The problem? It’s more than Jen is willing to pay.
Yes, the war is indeed far from over. Bargains will be struck, declarations will be made, sacrifices will be given, love will be tested, and trust will be questioned as evil makes its stand against them all.

Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.

I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.

Please, please, please have (most of) this book from Jen and Decebel's point of view?
Guilty pleasure series. Don't judge.

Fane and Jacque are old, Costin and Sally aren't that interesting, but Jencebel is, like, smoldering.

Pleassssseeeeee.

My feminist side argues that their mates are annoyingly protective, but my feminine side doesn't mind since they're aware the girls aren't property. And they let the girls take care of themselves.

lol what's wrong with me

This was another amazing book in the Grey Wolf series. This book I found to be very intense, it evoked many different emotions from me throughout. My opinion is when a writer can get you to feel emotion, throughout a book it’s a dam good book. This is a dam good book, as all of the books in this series have been. I’m so glad I decided to listen to this series, it’s been more than I ever thought it would be. It’s so full of love, passion, war, evil, good everything you can think of. When I say passion, I don’t mean it’s sexual. It’s full of passionate feelings, passionate people, about all different things. I highly, highly recommend this series.

Let me just say this.... With book 5 in the Grey Wolves series Quinn has still managed to surprise, shock, get me all twisted in knots and keep me falling head over heels in love with this wild pack!!!!
AMAZING, INTRIGUING, NAIL BITING, BEYOND AWESOMNESS... Just a few words to begin to describe this book..,

FULL REVIEW....
ARC Review
(Thank you Quinn for allowing me to review BTV for you!)

*sighs* I just finished Beyond the Veil and I sit here now soaking it all in...*thinking*
AMAZING.... INTRIGUING.... NAIL BITING....how these are just a few words to begin my description of this book!!
If you don't know by now, I LOVE the Grey Wolves series...I have been blown away since I opened up Prince of Wolves... and now, here in book 5, Quinn has still surprised me, shocked me, completely twisted me in knots, and all the while causing me to fall more in love with these fabulous wolves.
So, when I received the ARC, I was beyond ecstatic and couldn't wait to start it!! Diving back in to the Grey Wolves world feels like home and before you know it, you have completely lost yourself to these wolves.
I was so excited to read more about Sally since in the previous books she has somewhat been in the background... But, she is really coming in to her own and with Costin by her side... OH YEAH!!! But, this is just a minute detail in to the events happening in this book!!
Of course we get the fabulous Jen and Dec, Jacque and Fane, Vasile and Alina... But, we are introduced to new characters, as well as, get to know some of the other favorable characters throughout the series and boy do each of them add some spice and intrigue in to the lives of our favorite wolves...
From start to finish we are caught up in what is going to happen with the impending problems caused by that bothersome witch... We are sitting on the edge of our seats, biting our nails, holding our breath, desperately awaiting the outcome of these events... Many things happen... Some great and some that rip your heart out... But a great writer allows you, the reader, to experience all this and keep you enticed all the way through...
So, once Beyond the Veil releases on Sept 30... Don't hesitate... Grab your copy, lock yourself away from everything because YOU WILL NOT want to put this book down!!!
As ALWAYS... Hands down, one of my favorite authors and series!!!

I can not wait for this book!! Also I think 7 books in the series is too short just keep going I'm thinking like 20? I can't get enough of these girls and their fur balls just saying :) haha does any one else picture decebal as Joe Manganiello I know he is a bit older than the description in the books but that's who I keep thinking of and my imagination is perfectly content with that man being dec any day!

HOT DAMN!!
This fall?? Quinn you truly rock! That will be your 3rd this year!?! I can only hope you continue your sweetness streak next year too. You are too good to us!!
So, not to nag but...do we have a title? expected cover release? okay okay, I'll try and be good and patiently wait-because I know it will be worth it!!

Update-

~Whoot Whoot!!~

Another fun & sassy ride with our lovable gang of grey wolves & fae friends.
Never skipping a beat, we pick up from 'Out of the Dark' and find out what's going on between Sally & Costin. If you loved the sweet heat Decebel puts off, you will be head over furry heels for Costin. Sexy, charismatic fun loving Costin. I think I may have a new favorite wolf. Sally is timid and 'lost' at times. I found her innocence a tad irritating, but thoroughly enjoyed her inner Jen moments. As usual Jen had me falling out of my seat.
Love, love and more love!
Good thing we were in the mountains and not out to sea...we may have drowned from all of the love crashing around. I adore blooming relationships yet this installment in the series felt a bit heavy on the romance and light on the action.
Still, I love them... I can't help it- I absolutely love them!!
Jacques mom coming into the scene was a fun twist. Several shockers flew at me- her new relationship was definitely one of them.
Then the ending....
Quinn- No you didn't!! No No.
Ahhhhhh, yep. You did!!
I am dangling, fingernails holding me on....when is #6 coming?? I must hold on!

so freaking good!

Beyond the Veil is the fifth installment of The Grey Wolves series. Again, I'm loving these audios so freaking much. I feel like I'm flying through them and I can't wait to dive into more of these books while I'm at work tomorrow.

So much happened in this book. Not a lot of good things because this series seems to hate my ships and wants to burn them to the ground. Thanks a lot you determined villains! Other than that, Sally really stepped up her game in this book. Before she seemed a bit shy and nervous, but in this book she became the voice of reason a little bit? She definitely took charge of things when Jen or anyone else couldn't. I also really like everyone's friendships in this book.

AS for the determined villains, I expect revenge and death in the next book. If I don't get that, I will be pissed.

WOW! I loved this book. Loved it, as in I plan to read it again asap. This book was just as amazing as Jenn's books and it has a huge game changer in it. Huge as in "Phew, I was afraid the series was going to reach its natural conclusion and I would not get my Grey Wolf fix, but now the world is opened wide for a whole lot more Quinn magic". My only problem with this book is that it ended before I wanted it to be done. I can not wait until the next book comes out, which is too bad so sad for me because I read this one as an ARC and it is not even out yet hehehe.

I am just going to admit it: I want to be Sally when I grow up. Seriously, she is this kick butt powerful gypsy healer, has a huge heart, and she has Costin as her mate. I can not be the only one who melts when he says "Sally mine".

All of the things I loved most about this book are going to really be too spoilery for my reviews, so I will just say this: If you have read this series, this is a must read. If you have not started this series, start with Prince of Wolves, which is free, and work your way up to this book. Book one is good, but they get better and better with each book.

Beyond the Veil is Sensational, an astounding addition to the series. Fans will be delighted with the twist and added characters. If you thought it couldn't get better, Quinn will prove you wrong.

Behind every great man there is a woman rolling her eyes and yes that would be Jennifer she keeps Decebel on his toes and he loves every bit of it. Problem is Jennifer knows what awaits her but she refuses to go down without fight.

The females in this pack are strong, creative and unpredictable as can be! Sally and Costin are just heartwarming and then we have smart, loyal Jacque, attributes which doesn't fall far from the tree. There are so many surprises and I mean MANY! People are getting hooked up left and right. The witch's plan is well thoughtout, she wants her powers and will stop at nothing to get it. Then there is the King of Warlocks ... now this part of the story I was not expecting.

Quinn, thank you for entertaining me and taking me on your journey of sweet love, intense characters and pure evil!

Beyond the veil book 5 The Grey wolves series Quinn Loftis

First let me say I loved this book. Just want to be clear. Huge fan of this series. Quinn you just keep me coming back for more of the furry butt flea infested ... Lol! (Jen moment)

Beyond the veil picks right up where we left off with Out of the Dark. Desdemona.. The last witch. She makes Evil nice. She escapes last time and is coming back but find finds help with The King of Warlocks. Cypher. He is new and I like him. Even though at first I was like really.. Helping evil just to not be alone. He grew on me. His offer he could not refuse was .. Well read the book. I cannot give everything away. We had all our faves back. I loved Sally and (FAHDEH)Costin. I really enjoyed their relationship growing and seeing Sally, come to terms with the wolf she loves. The mating signs increase and bond increase. Then we find out until Sally has performed blood rites, she is as Jen says a Wolf magnet. Not good for Costin! I'm kinda no I AM seriously loving him! Just saying:-) I want one please. This book is just so action packed and full it is hard to even write with a eep each time a recall another fabulous fact. The Great Luna shows up in the book and well she changes the game and it changes lives. In a good way. Yeh Sorin! Peri fairy again is here working for the wolves, fighting the good fight. Adam and Elle... Yeh again. See I cannot get thru without the eep! I could go on and on.... Here is the jist. Read it. If you have not read this series START? Why not? Why are you not buying the books now?? The books have it all. Hot wolves, hilarious banter between three best friends who cannot be better. Jacques, Jen and Sally are great a force to be reckoned with. Everything has a sarcastic quip or movie trivia. I like them, they seem real. Jen is delightful in all her inappropriate glory. The three girls are a perfect balance. Jen and Dec wow.. Love them. They are so made for one another. Plus the heart break and challenges the Fates throw at them. We knew they would collect just not this.. Omg! Jacques and Fane...relationship solid and still strong. Poor Fane.. Actual all our males even Vasile..and poor Alina. I really don't like that witch & Pixies- who knew? There are no small players in the books. The characters are written so well, every story engaging. You want to know what is coming next. Again why are you not reading this?? Quinn I'm being patient and waiting on book 6!

Wow!!! What a Ride!!! The Grey Wolves series has covered quite a journey. As we approach the largest battle the werewolves will have ever seen Jacque, Jenn, and Sally will have to embrace their futures and become truly part of the pack. No longer just participants in this unique world, but warrior fighting for their survival and future.
I was so excited for this book, because Sally has played a bit of the sideline character through much of this series. Beyond the Veil was a guarantee that her character was going to take over the lime light. This was a reality, but shockingly there was so much more that unexpectedly developed in this single book. This was not a devotion to Sally, but rather the beginning of a chain of events that will transform the story.

As for the well loved and cherished characters I was surprised to see their story continue just as strongly. Jacque has seemed to have taken a side seat some of the past novel, but her role was so much larger in this book. It was refreshing to be able to reacquaint myself with her and Fane’s characters so deeply. Beloved Jenn continues her break neck pace that we have come to love in the past four books. With all of the developments in packed into this one story; readers will find themselves primed for the ultimate battle that seems inevitable from the cliff hanger ending.

I am not sure exactly how many novels are planned in The Grey Wolves series, but I am nervous that everything is building for the grand finale. I would hate to see the next novel be the final story, but if it is this series has taken a exceptional journey. With incredibly talented writing Quinn Loftis has proven her extraordinary talent, and I hope to see that this was just a stepping stone to an amazing future of writing.

Quinn has blown me away yet again with the next book in the Grey Wolves Series, Beyond the Veil. I have absolutely fallen in love with this series. The story and characters are incredible. Hands down, Quinn has the hottest werewolves imaginable and I one want so bad. Beyond the Veil continues where Out of the Dark leaves off. It starts off with a bang and crescendos into an impending explosion, the likes of which the supernatural world has yet to see.

Desdemona, the epitome of evil and the last living witch, has managed to escape into the inbetween where she is plotting her next attempt to take over the supernatural world, and seeks to enlist the help of the King of the Warlocks, Cypher, enticing him with an "offer he can't refuse." He's a new character in the series and is actually a pretty cool dude. You'll be so surprised when you find out about this "offer he can't refuse." We get to see and experience more of Sally and Costin. Sally is the pack's gypsy healer, and Costin is a werewolf, a quite yummy one at that. The mating signs and bond increases between them and boy is it intense. If you thought Fane and Decebel were bad, well Costin rivals them in every way when it comes to his little gypsy healer mate. He is a total hottie and loves Sally more than life, but when he finds out that her being a healer makes her a "wolf magnet," it is more than he can take. We were introduced to the Fae in the last book, and we get to see a lot more of them in Beyond the Veil, including the hottie Adam, who Jen so "true to character" refers to as "Legolas." Then of course there is Jen and Decebel. The series wouldn't be complete without Jen. If you haven't read the series, then it will be worth it for you just to get to know her. Decebel has taken over as Alpha of the Serbian pack, and he and Vasile, who is Alpha of the Romanian pack are working together not only to bring unity in the packs, but to defeat Desdemona. Peri from the Fae, is also working with them. We get to see more of Jacque and Fane also, and they also find themselves being targeted by the evil old bitty. The Fate's also pay a visit to Jen, and her relationship with Decebel is put to the test as they face one of the most difficult situations they will ever enounter. We also get to experience more of some of the old characters in the series, as well as some new ones, and we are introduced into the world of the Pixies in this story as well.

The Great Luna even makes an appearance in this book, petitioned by Peri, and she is not a happy camper with the Fae Council and the way their are handling their responsibility to the supernatural world. She makes some changes in the order of things that will blow your mind. That's all I can say without spoiling it for you and I can't wait for you to see what that is. There are also changes made in the order of the packs, which will surprise you, as well as news of new life and impending death. As Desdemona's plan is set into action, the wolves, their mates, and the Fae encounter one of the most difficult situations they have ever faced, and the females in this story find themselves in a position that "true to character," they rise up to. I absolutely cannot wait to see what these badass girls are going to do in the next book in the series.

Quinn has continued this series with a bang, and her stories just keep getting better and better. You find yourself completely caught, hook, line, and sinker, in the world she has created. Beyond the Veil, is filled with romance, passion, fierce loyalty, danger, intrigue, intense action, suspense, and some of the best humor out there. Quinn is such a talented and gifted writer, and she just keeps taking it to a new level with each new book she writes. The Grey Wolves Series is one of those that both young and old will cherish and enjoy, and if you haven't read it, hurry and get it, you won't be disappointed. If you love paranormal romance, the supernatural, and especially werewolves, you will love this. If you don't like or aren't crazy about werewolves, then by the time you read this series, you will also be wanting one for yourself. This is another exciting and captivating installment by an outstanding author, and I am again on the edge of my seat and biting my nails waiting on the next book in the series.

How is it that you continue to constantly surprise, thrill, and snare me, Miss Quinn??!!! Once again, another outstanding book in this unforgettable series!!

Judging by the previous stories where each couple has essentially had 2 books that primarily cover their relationship and turmoil, I was assuming Beyond the Veil was going to be mostly about Sally and Costin. They had just discovered their potential bond at the end of Out of the Dark, and I couldn't wait to start on their adventure together with this fifth book in the series. But, as always, Quinn Loftis likes to keep us on our toes!! Veil certainly gives us the enticing look into Sally and Costin's courtship, but OH EM GEE this book was so much more!!! Thanks to a pissed-off psychotic b*tch of a witch Desdemona, all hell is literally about to break loose, and fantasy creatures of every kind are coming out of the woodwork!! This was not the side-splitting fun with intense thrills and suspense that Loftis gave us with the previous books. Sure, Jen (LOVE her!!) and the gang were their usual outspoken and humorously crass selves, but the darkness that was always on the outskirts before was taking center stage this time, and I was on the edge of my seat at every turn!

"How evil is my soul, you ask? Gaze into the darkness, a place where all light is consumed and not even a hair's breadth can be used to cast a shadow. Then you will begin to understand the depth of my depravity." ~Desdemona

There are so many changes and shifts in this book, it was like one shocking twist after another and I couldn't break away! Everyone is settling in and regrouping after the showdown with Mona in OOTD, while Sally and Costin come to grips with being mated. They're unaware of just how far Mona plans to go with her retaliation and attempt to get ahold of healer Sally, but thankfully they have fae Peri and her allies on their side. Peri goes to great lengths to find aid for the intense battle that is looming on the horizon, and her pleas bring about a change that will affect more than just the wolves. The Great Luna, well aware that the Fae have long since removed themselves from the problems of the world, decides to right a wrong through them, hoping to solve two problems at once: the lack of true mates for the wolves, and the hardening of the hearts in the Fae realm. Can you guess what she does to "shake things up"?? ;-)

"Sorin and Elle, sitting in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g. First comes bonding, then comes the bite, then a roll in the hay that lasts all night. Who says I can't hold a tune?" ~Jenn

Amidst all the post-Great Luna decree aftermath, Mona is literally looking to reign hell upon the world. If you hated her in the earlier books, you will be surprised to know that you will loathe her even more after Veil! Honestly, this wench deserves to rot in flames for eternity, she got me so livid as she started carrying out her schemes!! Using her new allies and her own magic, she was essentially lining herself up for a sure-thing win against her enemies. But just as it looked like Mona was going to have everything she'd ever wanted at the expense of our beloved wolf packs, Loftis gives us a glimmer of hope. Sure, things look pretty bleak and Mona seems to have every base covered, but there's no keeping a good woman down when scorned! Mona may have just met her match!!

"Desdemona might not realize it, but even though what she is doing is horrible and could quite possibly kill us all, she is also uniting us."

All the action and suspense aside, I once again had a blast spending time with these amazing characters. After 5 books with them, I feel like I know them so well and I just love each and every one. Jen and Jackie never cease to have me laughing to myself with their hilarious antics and banter, and of course the sexy beasts that make up the boys of the packs always have my heart racing with their alpha-male ways!! Even sweet Sally is coming into her own now, and I can't wait to see her use her bad-ass potential!! It's going to be a seriously long wait for the 6th book with everything left hanging in the balance, but I loved every minute of the ride to get to it! A-ma-zing!!!

Now that I've actually read the book I can honestly say that I enjoyed it as much as I've enjoyed the past four Grey Wolves books. I originally thought that Beyond the Veil would focus more on Costin and Sally and their relationship with just bits of Jen and Dec and Jacque and Fane sprinkled in like in the past installments but that wasn't really so. Costin and Sally did have the majority of the focus as they explored their newly formed bond and what it all meant for them, but two other relationships were introduced as well in Sorin and Elle and Adam and Crina. I thought they both were really interesting, especially Adam and Crina and I would've liked to get more build up for both couples as it was the very definition of insta-love for them. Honestly, I think because of the volume of relationships(3 new ones and 7 in all) in the book it could have been at least a hundred pages longer so it wouldn't have felt quite so rushed in some spots, especially when all of the real drama started up, it just seemed like a lot of events packed into one book and not all of them were given equal time. But overall I love this series, it's really just pure fun and I look forward to seeing what happens next.

I can't wait for this book. Please more Sally & Costin, I know they will be my favorite couple, they were too cute.

I was disappointed with the fact that Jen and Decebel, still had such a main role in the book. Jen's antics and the many ways she finds to get in trouble with her mate aren't interesting to me. I tolerated her character in the first two books within a shred of my sanity. She's just too much all the time. She interrupts the flow of the book, makes you go on this long tangent with her until we an finally get to the substance that matters. Sally and Costin's part was all that I cared about reading in the whole book. In the past four books Sally's character has been hidden behind the shadow of Jen and Jaque. And for awhile I was ok with that Until this book. Less Jen over all will make the next book better. Of course now that.. I know book that book 5 was only just released but I am hanging on the edge of seat, eagerly anticipating book 6!!!! The suspense is going to make me crazy!!! I don't think 6 books is going to be enough.... Since 7 is supposed to be to story of Vasile and Alina.... Maybe the story can continue down the road with stories of the future kids of the packs!!!! ....so don't want the story to end!!

First, I need to thank Quinn Loftis for the ARC of this book. When I got the email I held my Kindle to my chest and jumped up and down screaming like a little girl! (Don't believe me: ask my husband) I have loved The Grey Wolves Series since the very first word of the very first book. Quinn is an amazing author and person! I received the email around 10 pm last night and started the book right away and finished about 2:30 am. I could NOT put it down!

Best Parts: *sigh* Decebel and Jennifer will be my favorites of this series and even though this is mainly Sally's story these two swoop right in and "steal" the scene for me. I still consider Jennifer to be the funniest character ever written! However, Sally, Costin, Fane and Jacque truly complete the circle of friendship. I love how Quinn makes their personalities, crazy statements, love and protection all fit together. It is perfect. I also love the new characters and the old ones that are brought into the story. The twist and turns in this book is amazing!! I loved everyone, even the ones that made me cry!

Not so great: I am going to be so honest, I can even feel the tears welling up in my eyes right now as I type this. I love Quinn, this is true, BUT this lady knows how to rip out my heart, stomp on it, then shove it back into my chest and then just ends the book! O. M. G!! I have a love/hate relationship with cliffhangers and Quinn is the Queen of them for this series.

This book will not be released until September 30th and I cannot wait for my Pack Mates, @AuthQuinnLoftis ,@Camelott77, @CandaceSelph, @HANNAHLCHURCH, @kvsgrimes, @ShelleyCarman and @QuinnLoftisFans on Twitter to read this because by far this is the best of the series! Again, I want to thank Quinn and I will be counting down the days until Book 6!

I did enjoy this book, but was let down by a number of factors. Lets start with the good. It again is an easy book to read with likable characters, and plenty of movement in the story, with everything going forwards. If you liked the previous books, chances are you will like this one too. Now some of the disappointing things. One of the things I really like about this series is the banter between the girls, they are witty, sarcastic, and fun, and this lends a whole lightness to the books. However in Beyond the Veil alot of the story told about the witch (Mona), and this was heavy compared to the light heartedness that is this series. Yes, there was still great banter between the girls, but not enough to make up for the witch. I was so looking forward to the budding romance of Sally and Costin (Costin is great!!), but it played too small a role in this story, and nearly felt like a secondary part of the story. It was sweet and lovely when the story was about them, I needed and wanted more of that. In addition there were another two matings, and there was no nice lead up to these. I like the lead up to the matings, and this was missing. It nearly felt forced. I wonder if too many characters have now been added, and this is why nothing seemed to be the main focus of this book.

However, my biggest disappointment with this book was the fact that it does not end properly. All the books in this series have a semi ending, but then leave you knowing where the next book will take off. In my opinion this addition just ended. I dislike that. Nothing was finished in this book, just more storyline left open. I was left thinking, the book ended at the end of a chapter. However, I have not given up on the series and will read the next one.
Will I read it again? Only the parts with Sally and Costin

Oh My Freaking God!

This was an effing hot, fur ball bomb!

WOW!

Freaking, blasting, scorching, yummy story, it was.

Wow, Ms. Loftis. You make the readers feel like they're into this all happening. It's always wonderful reading your works. :D

Lilly's role being put up the way it had been was outstanding and the way you shaped up Fate's role in Jen's and Decebel's life was...great? Whatever. Can't seem to put up the right words in here. Result of this mind-blowing and mind-boggling work of yours. Hahaha. :D

Anyway, it was an enticing read and I'm starving for the next book. :D

♥ XOXO

Christmas came early!
Best yet! I keep saying that with this series, but it's true. They just keep getting better, more intriguing, more twists and turns and just when you think you can't take any more - MORE hot werewolves (plus a very hot Fairy - wait, what?! Read to find out more). All you Romantics, this book will fill you up. Adventure seekers, don't despair - this book is fun! For the first time in a large scale way readers are introduced to the wider world that the Greywolves live in and it's just as interesting as they are. Buckle up, because you're in for a ride!

(I originally read the ARC, but finished the official purchased book Sep 28th. So good!!)

Absolutely loved it. Another great series that kills me when I get to the end of book without the next one waiting for me. Quinn is an excellent and entertaining writer that truly captures the craziness and sarcasm of teenage girls while throwing in the hot possessiveness of werewolf boys. My only complaint is that it was too short and I read it to quickly!

FIRST AND FOREMOST
PIKACHU, I BLAME YOU!!!!
but yeeesssss, it's good to be back! I missed this series, these characters, reading books that weren't textbooks, you know, LIVING.
BUT OH MY GOSH THIS BOOK!

I'MMA LET YOU KNOW RIGHT NOW THIS IS NOT SPOILER FREE SO TURN YOUR BUTTS AROUND IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT.
NOW

*pulls out kindle notes*
*gets up on podium*
Let's start with friggin Mona. Anyone else watch merlin? I was getting Morgana vibes from this chick. and not Morgana when she was rocking it, I'm talking about when she was roughing it.

hair on fleek, mona?
Seriously, why is this girl tripping? She is the last of her kind! She should be chilling somewhere or finding herself a man, not ruin everyone's lives and inciting war! Ok, you want some healer blood? i assure you tricking her into going to a vampire run blood bank would have been easier.
SPEAKING OF GETTING A MAN that whole scene with Adam, i was like

Ew!

But I called Crina_+ Adam and Elle+Sorin and I shipped the ship out of those ships! but i did not see lilly's love story coming. i did not.
At first I was all feminist!reader and protested to the mail-order-via-witch-bride thing.

And then Lilly's like "i aint no fool" and called Mon on her crap and I was like "Ok, she got this." When she met Cypher, she got all concerned saying who falls in love with their captor, but I'm like

do you want that list alphabetically or chronologically?
The description of Cypher went over my head because all i could picture of the king of Mirkwood

i might have it bad for thranduil so what don't judge me
And girl fell hard. Like BANG BANG INTO THE ROO- I'm sorry, I break into song with this series. The most common songs are "CAAAAAAAN you FEEEEEEEL the LOOOOOVE toNIIIIIIIGHT" and "if I NEEEEVERRRRRRR KNEWWWWWWW YOUUUUUU"
and then Cypher said
"It's always been the burden of the warlock King to keep the secret of the underworld."

Underworld? Kidnapped wife? relectant yet beautiful romance. Y'ALL ARE PERSEPHONE AND HADES. THAT'S IT. IT'S TRUE LOVE.

But I digress
So Jenny's punishment is up, and it looks like the fates aren't creative. They are going to take her first born. Like everyone else ever. Come on guys! i predict that since it's a life for a life, we're going to offer up Mona in place of the baeby.

Ohhh and let's talk about Sally finally getting her man! So happy for them! Costin became a crazy protective quickly, and I don't blame him. Sally's a wolf magnet? Not good.

SPEAKING OF NOT GOOD OUR BOYS ARE IN PURGATORY OUR GIRLS ARE UNDER A CURSE MONA UTTERED THROUGH JACQUE JEN'S PREGGERS LILLY'S BAE IS STALLING OUT THE EVIL ONE THE PIXIES HAVE PICKED A SIDE AND THE GREAT LUNA IS NO LONGER TAKING CRAP FROM THE SELF RIGHTEOUS FAE. PLEASE EXCUSE ME AS I GO BINGE READ THE NEXT BOOK.
