FAIRY TOTS Fairy Tail visits a town of giants frozen in magical ice that Gray can't dispel and Natsu can't melt! At its heart is supposedly an Eternal Flame… but how can a flame be frozen? And they're not the only ones after the town's secrets. Three treasure hunters block their path, while an old nemesis lurks in the shadows. To top it off, a magical trap makes all the Fairy Tail wizards' problems seem much bigger!

3.5/5 A fun volume. Our gang heads to a village of giants frozen in ice. Their mission is to free it. Upon arrival they come across a gang of treasure hunters that are after a magical item believed to protect the village.
They also encounter Minerva and a strange man named Doriate whose magic turns people into children.
The volume goes pretty quick and is kind of it’s own mini arc at Sun Village. Fun but just a build up to the larger upcoming Tartaros Arc.
Young Natsu and Erza on the cover with Gray, Minerva, and Dariate.
I feel an atmosphere of an underdog from Treasure hunters... They have no big impact and important roles. Why did the author add some unnecessary characters like them in this chapter? However, small Happy was very cute so I forgive strange new characters.
Fairy Tail continues the fight to save a village of giants frozen in magical ice while working around some treasure hunters who are after their own targets there. Oh, and there's also the little problem of them continually being reverted to their child forms complete with the smaller magical energy and strength. A few faces from the magic games are back - some in their same old position of enemy, others as newfound allies.
This arc promises to be an interesting one for Gray, first because of the ice magic and also because his own history is coming back to haunt him. And then there's that final shot...
ENG I will talk about volume 41 to 45 in my review (without spoilers). I really liked what I read in these volumes; we can clearly see the evolution for certain characters and that does a lot of good. I was very moved during several scenes. And despite the too much "fan-service" (as usual); I enjoyed my reading much more. We feel that everything is moving, as if things were already going towards the end, when not yet. I can't wait to read more !
This volume has a little feeling as if Hiro Mashima was a Muppet Babies fan! Some Fairy Tail guild members are transformed into kid versions of themselves and are forced to battle it out! On top of that, they have reached the town of frozen Giants (which immediately made me also think about One Pieces giant island). Again, I am not saying Mashima took these ideas, but they felt very familiar for me as a reader. Regardless, this is a fun volume, and the art is forever crisp and beautiful. The search for a way to thaw the Giants continues along with some mysteries which feel much grander than the current situation. Another solid entry in this long-running series which I believe is under appreciated by way too many manga fans.
Thoughts on this volume: - Gray and Silver.... Mashima is so real for that, he said, "You're gonna know." - Seeing the little baby faries again was so cute. Little Natsu is such a little shit. - Baby Gray.... he may have been small, but his brain cells were working double time. How is he smarter now than he was in the first 35 volumes? Something flipped a switch in him when he fought Rufus because now he's constantly on the ball. - Nice little Flare revival. - Not nice at all Minerva revival. - I'm very excited for the Tartaros arc because this is the point where I was reading weekly, so I really didn't know what was going on very much. I'm excited to read it in full! - I need the rest of Fairy Tail to pull up, though. I love Team Natsu, but I need Juvia and Gajeel back in action.

Ezra, Natsu and Gray all turn into a child again. Ahh omg they’re just so adorable being small, but don’t for a second think that their wits and ability disappear!
Another demon from the book of zeref finally showing up?
Awwee then everyone else shrank too, I can’t get enough of my small babies.
The fire dragon—Atlas flame—is the eternal flame of the giant village? The guardian of the village.
Who is this devil slayer? who also uses ice maker magic?
Getting a really short arc in this series is so refreshing! But it also provided us with so much detail and anticipation for this next one. Our team is sent on a quest to help this village that was completely frozen. The interesting bit that was left out on their way there was that it’s a village of giants. Covered in ice, our team encounters a variety of people from the past but also a few new faces. Excited to see what role Grey’s magic is going to play over the next coming volumes!
Some of the new character designs are completely ridiculous. Like what the heck? The whole arc seems to focus on the characters suddenly getting turned into children, adults, children... It's weird. Even for this series.

This almost got three stars because the kid thing was a little cutesy for my tastes, but then we got Flare's backstory and action..and it's another four star effort.
