Marie Still, award-winning thriller and horror author, torments her characters from Tampa Bay. She also writes women's fiction under Kristen Seeley. Her novels include My Darlings (currently in development as a television series with Amazon MGM Studios), Bad Things Happened in This Room, We're All Lying (named by Buzzfeed as one of the most anticipated mystery/thrillers of 2023), and Beverly Bonnefinche is Dead (a Silver Falchion Award finalist).
Off the page Marie can be found attempting to corral her five mostly friendly cats for a cuddle, surviving the affection from her very cuddly 150 lb Rottweiler, or keeping up with her four children. She's also known to surprise her incredibly supportive husband with a new cat, to which he doesn't complain (too much).
If you’re looking for a deliciously unhinged psychological thriller, My Darlings was most definitely that with a capital U. From the cold-blooded female serial killer to the unguessable twists and turns, I was quickly pulled into the fast-paced, propulsive plot from the very first word. A perfectly combined mix of compelling and disturbing, I was head over heels as we were gifted with an inside look at Eloise’s cunning, sociopathic mind. Needless to say, I won’t forget it—or her—anytime soon.
Eloise wasn’t the only standout character, however. Told via multiple POVs—all of whom were gloriously morally gray—I was happy to sit back and relax for this downright crazy train ride of dynamite thrills and chills. And while I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Eloise’s “friends,” she was the shining star in this stunning slam dunk. After all, you want to hate her, but you find yourself rooting for her despite every cringe-worthy behavior and despicable belief. To be frank, she was the perfectly crafted villain for this self-described thriller snob.
The only two pieces that I guess could be described as flaws were the slow burn start and somewhat over-the-top climax. Don’t get me wrong, once I suspended all disbelief, I happily held on for dear life as jealousy, revenge, and blood lust took over the pages. Just know that the plot definitely took on a definite slasher vibe. If you don’t mind that, then you’re in for one heck of a ride. So much so, in fact, that I’d love to beg Ms. Still for a sequel.
All said and done, with an unguessable storyline and perfectly plotted conclusion, Marie Still undeniably hit it out of the park. If you’re like me and love a book with unlikeable characters, dark themes, and sharp writing, then this book is for you. I mean, even the masterfully included dual timelines were an utter home run. Filling in Eloise’s backstory, it demonstrated how everything came full circle with that final, jaw-dropping page. So go order your copy right now. Once in your hands, I’m sure you’ll end up binge reading these short, addictive chapters late into the night. Rating of 4.5 stars.

When I think of literary characters that cannot get crazier, I am introduced to Eloise Williams and all the people that surround her in a typical suburban neighbourhood. Frankly, all these chapter narrators made me increasingly uncomfortable and yet I had this compulsion to keep on reading. Now, I feel like I have to cleanse myself with a couple of fluffy books before diving into a thriller again.
I am a mere amateur in the reviewing world but if there is a book in the mom noir genre that needs to be discussed it is My Darlings. Select it for bookclub and nominate it for all the thriller awards. You won't regret your read BUT you will want to cut yourself off from talking to human beings for the rest of your natural life.
I went looking for this book when I heard Tina on Book Talk Etc talk about it on the podcast. Desperate Housewives meets Dexter vibes..how could you not want to pick it up. Serial killer books are some of my favourites, and a female one.. well I had to read it. I binged this in a day, it was so fun, violent and messed up in so many ways.. loved it.
Eloise is a stay at home mother, housewife, and wife, PTA president and friend… oh and a serial killer. Nobody would suspect this upstanding member of the community of the horrific murders she commits. We learn about her past and how she became this monster. When it appears that somebody knows her secrets, things escalate and she will do anything to protect them.
This is one crazy and seriously unhinged woman and ai was there for it all. Read this book.
Publishes on October 8th, thanks so much to Rising Action Publishing for my advanced copy to read.
One of the best thrillers I’ve ever read. To be honest I started out thinking “oh they cray” and was just thinking another psychopath store. Nahhhhh this book will make you look over your shoulder because no where is safe and no one can be trusted. An. Absolute. Perfect. Book.
I have been putting off writing this review about this thriller by a brand new to me author, Marie Still, called, My Darlings. I had to force myself to read this from an uncomfortable place as things got more uncomfortable especially towards the second half of this. I did like the fast paced, razor sharp tight sentences written with descriptive imagery for the first half. The second half got quite uncomfortable since when I requested this I missed the warnings which I wasn't prepared for the sadistic and misogynistic content. I was expecting what I read in the synopsis to be themed as the ABC series Desperate Housewives crossed with the HBO series Dexter. I haven't watched anything from either series for years and to my recollection they were relatively tame compared to the second half of this which just turned into to be suffering from "the kitchen sink syndrome," with sadistic and graphic content that borders on horror in my humble opinion. I have been known to enjoy a good thriller every now and then, but never have I gravitated towards being able to tolerate reading or watching anything containing graphic, and sadistic behavior done in any shape or fashion. I requested this a while ago, so I'm stuck with getting through whatever I have been approved for, which I will be again forced to endure forcing myself to finish something that is extremely uncomfortable. That's the arrangement with Net Galley is that in order to write a review that is fair and honest to the author, there's really no escaping something by not gauging the entire book. I had been keeping my requests to a minimum, but went against my better judgement, and ended up not being ultra careful. After finishing the ones that I don't remember what they're about, I definitely won't be reading anything like this again.
This is about a forty something affluent woman who is a serial killer. Her name is Eloise William's who obviously I don't need to explain why she is an abhorrent sociopath. She lives in a wealthy upscale area of Washington D.C. who on the surface she is a philanthropist who plans fund raising events contributing to those who are less fortunate. She's the PTO President at her teen daughter's school. She has a circle of friends who she lets you know that they are more or less subservient to her. She tells you in the beginning that she is married to her husband for monetary reasons, and he's unattractive. His name is Robert who he's a Corporate attorney that deals in Mergers and Acquisitions, so he wouldn't be much help should she need his expertise as an attorney.
I think that the problem is that there is just one of Eloise's friends that came across as likable out of the entire novel. Her name is Poppy and she got the least attention or focus. The other two are back stabbing women with one friend named Beatrix who is sleeping with their friend Suzanne's husband who is the worst kind of physically abusive cruel type of husband that calls Suzanne a fat pig and whips her with lashes to her back if she isn't at his beckon call for every whim. He throws her to the floor knocking out her teeth. Yet, he tells her that he will kill her if she leaves him. Eloise's daughter get's bullied at school and seems terrified of her mother. See what I mean? These are just some examples of what I abhor reading about. The fault lies with me since there is a warning about several types of gratuitous violence that I missed when requesting. It took the focus off Eloise's serial killing and these are what I mean by "the kitchen sink syndrome."
If you are not bothered by these nonsensical meanderings from the main idea, then this is your book. I think that I definitely like suspenseful driven narratives, but I don't like this type of twisted cruel behavior and I am an outlier opinion. I have respect for the other reviewers who have every right to their opinion who loved this. I just wish that I had seen the trigger warnings at the bottom of the synopsis. So, I take responsibility for my very tortured reading experience with this. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, but I won't be reading this author again.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book for free in exchange for my review! All opinions are my own.
The premise of this book being compared to Dexter and Desperate Housewives was very interesting to me. It was the cover that made me request it. I love a good suburban domestic thriller.. Unfortunately, this book was more Dexter and less Desperate Housewives in my opinion. I would almost consider this book to be borderline horror as some parts were more graphic than I was expecting for a thriller (I have read other books about murder that have been less graphic). If I had known that, I wouldn't have requested this book. I might pick up another book by Marie Still. in the future.
Many Thanks again to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this book in exchange for my honest review.

“My darlings” caught my eye with the gorgeous book cover giving moody autumn vibes. This is a dark twisty indie debut featuring a sadistic housewife in suburbian hell.
This is a fast paced read you can definitely finish in one sitting if you so desire.
The plot follows a sociopathic serial killer disguised as an everyday unassuming housewife. Eloise is completely devoid of emotion, empathy or any feelings required to be a human being. This eery component to her character gives you the sense of the unexpected, anything can happen at any time.
Thank you to rising action publishing, Marie still and NetGalley for the EARC!
"Another woman killed. That makes six in the last twelve months; a serial killer is amongst us. How appalling, how alarming. I clutch my pearls and gasp at the TV while hiding my smirk." ~Eloise
"I spend a good deal of time, selecting My Darlings, according to specific criteria: unmarried with no children. This has nothing to do with my possessing a conscience of any sort. There is no bit of heart or some kernel of goodness inside that would prevent me from ripping a mother from her young children's lives. It's nothing like that. It's simply self preservation." ~Eloise ____
Eloise is a stay at home mom and president of the PTO. She lives in an affluent neighborhood and does and says all the right things. That’s because as a serial killer she is skilled in the art of manipulation and hiding her true nature. However, when she becomes the focus of someone from her past, the tables turn!
This is deliciously dark and twisted with brilliant pops of humor that had me chuckling even as I’m horrified. Not for the squeamish there is some difficult content, so check trigger warnings. All the elements I LOVE were included, a serial killer AND an anonymous narrator, multiple POVs, dual timelines, short chapters and completely unhinged characters! A peek inside a deranged serial killer’s mind is always fascinating, but in this case so were the hidden secrets of everyone around her.
To my utter joy, I couldn’t predict what madness would happen next. The one thing I did know was that insanity would ensue. Did this go over the top? Absolutely and I loved every wacky minute of it! After all, when a despicable and VILE serial killer devolves, anything CAN and DOES happen. Not to mention the ratcheting tension and sense of impending doom of several paths on a collision course. Eloise isn’t the only one who is off her rocker or who I loved to hate. . . Marie Still’s writing captivated me from beginning to end as I held on to the crazy train for dear life!
MY DARLINGS is wonderfully dark and disturbing with well crafted and UNHINGED characters who leap off the pages. And that ending? Sheer perfection. Sign me up for a sequel and let’s get this demented train back on the tracks ASAP! ____
Thank you Marie Still & Rising Action Publishing Collective for the gifted copy. All opinions are mine. ____
This is my first book by this author and I downloaded her other audiobook as soon as I finished. I loved this one.
Eloise is a stay at home mom. She is president of PTO, doting wife and also a serial killer. She is cold hearted and unhinged. Soon you discover that her circle of friends is conniving, back stabbing and honestly a bit cruel. I devoured this book. It was fast paced and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what happens. If you love Dexter and Desperate Housewives you will love this.
Pulled in immediately and didn’t want to put it down! I finished My Darlings in just 2 days, I was gripped the entire time. I loved the switching POVs and occasional timeline switches to slowly reveal the secrets/twists! I was also happy that the author included content warnings at the start of the book because this is very dark.
MC is unlikeable but sooo intriguing and complex. And really all the characters are unlikeable but they’re like “love to hate them” type characters-very dramatic, entertaining, and over the top rich people 😂 It’s described as desperate housewives meets Dexter and for once the comparison is spot on!!
I predicted a couple of twists early on but not all of them so I was pleasantly shocked! The ending was soo good 😨 I’d highly recommend My Darlings for anyone looking for a fast paced thriller with unlikeable characters and a serial killer POV! Definitely a favorite for September ❤️
TW/CW: murder, blood, violence, child abuse, alcoholism, body shaming, suicide, hazing, bullying, child death, infidelity, torture, domestic violence, emotional abuse, drugged without consent or knowledge, underage drinking, body horror, self harm
Thank you to netgalley and Rising Action Publishing for the eARC of My Darlings by Marie Still!
I have to start off by saying I took a step back from thrillers for a bit because they all seemed to blur together and all the story lines were so similar it wasn’t…thrilling..anymore.
But this one changed that!
Serial Mom (1984) meets Housewives of Murder County meets American Psycho. I could just stop there bc if that doesn’t grab you, what will?
But I won’t.
The villain in this novel is one that makes you ask yourself “what the fuck is wrong with me” when you momentarily sympathize with her. This novel is like acting on every intrusive thought. And can we talk about the body count? It just kept rising.
Oh! And the ending. Grotesquely satisfying. Bravo Still, you have renewed my love of thrillers!
I started out kind of bored by Eloise, to be honest. She wasn’t as fascinating as promised. However, once the other characters got involved and brought absolute MESS, I was in!
This is definitely an everything but the kitchen sink sort of read. Our characters are all very extra and they do things that just make you scratch your head and eat your popcorn.
I ended up really enjoying this and ended it wanting more!
I loved this book! I do think it’s a mistake to compare it to Dexter though - so push that out of your mind prior to reading it. It’’s about a rich, white woman serial killer in suburbia 👀
My Darlings is one of the most suspenseful, thrilling psychological thrillers I have read to date! Marie Still has a way of writing that will have your heart racing while on the edge of your seat!
The book starts off with the killer announcing she is a killer, right after committing a murder. Eloise Williams is a housewife and stay at home mom, who is well perceived by her society. She is a respected local philanthropist and sits on the boards of many charities, but is also a serial killer. She carefully targets her victims, scoping them out, briefly meeting them, and then stalking them until the perfect time to end her "darling's" life. She is quite particular in her choosing and has rules- one rule being to never go after women she's connected to. Until things change..
This book took me on a wild ride! The author had no problem killing people off throughout the book (by Eloise's hands, of course). Murder after murder, Eloise has never been caught. She's on a streak and does not mind killing off anyone who gets in her way, no matter how close they are to her. She is remorseless, especially when she knows the other wealthy housewives within her circle are hiding their own secrets. This book is suspenseful, it is gripping, it is paced extremely well with several twists that will have you on the edge of your seat, and an ending that will leave you jaw-dropped! The anonymous POV (the Watcher) adds so much to this book as well! We quickly learn this serial killer has a stalker who has been tracking her every move for years and it makes this book even more twisted! 5 stars!
Thank you NetGalley, Rising Action Publishing, and Marie Still for such an utterly addictive ARC!
Marketing „My Darlings“ as a mix between the TV shows „Desperate Housewives“ and „Dexter“ is what drew me to this book, but it’s actually doing a disservice to the book and completely offensive to „Dexter“ (I‘ve never watched „Desperate Housewives“, so I can‘t judge that). Sure, „Dexter“ is about a serial killer, but Dexter Morgan was likeable and, despite his extracurricular activities, a decent guy (he had a code, after all) who tried hard to be a good dad.**
The serial killer in this book, rich housewife Eloise, is neither. She is an abhorrent mother and a despicable, psychotic and sadistic human being who enjoys inflicting pain on others. Which still would have made for an intriguing book (despite the false expectations raised by conjuring „Dexter“), except the story goes totally cray very, very quickly. Soon enough, bodies are dropping like flies and it‘s pure mayhem. It was all a bit too over the top for my liking, and it doesn‘t help that - apart from Eloise’s victims - not a single character was likeable, so I didn‘t really care what happened to them. Finally, from the flashbacks to Eloise’c childhood to the killing spree in the present-day timeline, it seems absolutely impossible that no one has ever caught on to what Eloise‘s up to - she certainly stops being careful about her kills after about three chapters.
Despite the craziness (or maybe because of it), I found myself quite bored by the narrative. It seemed as though every chliché about serial killers was thrown at Eloise. The fact that she herself was being stalked was interesting, except for the stalker‘s (obvious) identity and the stalker‘s equally abhorrent behavior - why not step in, or at least tip off the authorities as to what Eloise is up to?
Finally, I‘m assuming the ending was supposed to be shocking (it certainly wasn‘t subtle), but I felt like there were previous hints pointing in that direction, so it didn‘t really take me by surprise.
There were some distracting editorial oversights, most notably Eloise‘s age, but I hope those will be corrected by the time this book is published, so those didn‘t factor into my rating.
I did, however, award some bonus points for one character savagely remarking it‘s „couldn‘t care less“, not „I could care less“ (a pet peeve of mine and sadly often found in published works, too).
** PS. If you‘re looking for a female serial killer with true „Dexter“ vibes, I can recommend „This Girl‘s a Killer“ by Emma C. Wells, to be published on October 29, 2024.
Thank you to NetGalley and Rising Action Publishing Collective for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
„My Darlings“ is slated to be publishes on October 8, 2024.
Pg 8 - "Every second of every day we are potentially breathing our last breath. would people live their lives differently if they were more conscious of this fact?" Among other roles in the story, Eloise announces herself as being the serial killer in the novel in Chapter 2. How different is that?
This story pulled me in so quickly!!! Stills sequence of the story, knowing the serial killer right from the beginning was backwards than usual but oh, so intriguing! Told by several narrators the story is told and gets more intense as it moves forward. The fact that Eloise is also a woman is novel as serial killers are most usually men, Still gives her a strong voice and enables the reader to get into her head. the supporting characters each lead their own part in the story. A character driven book with many unreliable narrators makes My Darlings a cathartic read.
Murder, mayhem, deceit and secrets and a diabolical antagonist! Whether it was just me or not, I got a chuckle here or there because Eloise just seemed to dig herself deeper in a somewhat comical manner.
*Sidenote - whoever proof read this book needs to go back to school to learn how to divide or not divide words. Geesh!
I've read a few books about a female serial killer before, from their POV. But each one made it seem like they were doing the world a favour, by targeting only those who have done bad things. It's great and everything, but it can be a little boring after a while. Which is why I was nervous going into this one. Was this just going to be the same old? The answer was no. This was not like the others. This was a woman who had the perfect life, who didn't target bad men, she didn't target those who hurt others. She killed women, and she did it because she liked it. Already, this book was a win. I read this in one sitting because I genuinely couldn't put it down. I loved reading from Eloise's POV, I loved the little peaks at her past, and I loved the mystery behind the Watcher. This is my first from this author, and I look forward to reading more.
I was chatting with my friend Farah when we spontaneously decided to dive into an amazing thriller. From the very first moment, I was hooked—this story was impossible to put down. The suspense and mystery unfolded in a brilliantly crafted way that kept me on the edge of my seat.
What captivated me most was the story's dark perspective. Told entirely from the viewpoint of the antagonist, it allowed me to explore the twisted mind of a serial killer. This unique angle added depth and complexity to the narrative that I found fascinating. The graphic descriptions of the killings were intense but made sense within the context of the killer's thoughts and motivations.
I appreciated how the author portrayed the darker aspects of humanity, creating a chilling atmosphere that drew me in. This experience was unforgettable, and I loved how it pushed the boundaries of the thriller genre.
Creepy. Suspenseful. Very Desperate Housewives-esq.
This was an interesting one! Told through multiple first-person POVs and dual timelines, Still’s latest diabolical thriller, 𝑴𝒚 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒔 is action packed and filled with unlikeable characters you can’t help but loathe.
Definitely recommend for anyone who doesn’t mind a few psychotic, rich housewives. 🤪
Thank you to NetGalley & Rising Action Publishing for the digital galley!
This… is my favorite type of thriller. The main POV is an absolutely unhinged female serial killer (Eloise) and she lives in a huge mansion with all the money in the world and is also the head of the PTO. Who would have thought.
She stalks her victims.. until one day she realizes she has become the prey.
Ate this book UP 👏🏻
Multiple POV, flashbacks, girlfriend drama, and lots of murder.
Out now!! Give it a read 🔪
Thanks to the author & @thrillerbookloversthepulse for my ARC!
Eloise is PTO president with a tight group of friends. She's also a serial killer. Better not get on her bad side! This was such a dark and disturbing thriller which was graphic at times but in the best way. I'm so excited to read more by this author!
I loved everything about this book. It was so unhinged 😈 This book had my favorite tropes, serial killer and different POVS👏🏽 I love love when I read a book and we get to be apart of the serial killers view point. If you love rich housewives, with a mix of drama and a serial killer on the loose, this one is for you!
This one is out NOW‼️

A gripping psychological thriller, “My Darlings” by Marie Still pulls no punches. The novel delves into the complexities of human nature, the secrets we keep, and the lengths to which one woman will go to maintain control. If you're a fan of thrillers that explore the darkest corners of the human psyche, this book is a must-read.
In the deceptively serene Washington D.C. suburbs, evil lurks behind perfectly manicured lawns, ornate iron gates, and long winding driveways. Meet Eloise Williams. She’s a stay-at-home mom, PTO president, and respected local philanthropist, leads a double life—one that involves serial killing. But she isn't the only lady of society playing a dangerous game. As the hidden lives of Eloise's inner circle are exposed, the body count rises, and the chilling reality hiding in plain sight becomes impossible to ignore.
The writing is sharp, the pacing relentless, and the character development masterful. Eloise's dual roles as a doting wife and mother juxtaposed with her chilling alter ego create a tension that permeates every page. Still skillfully weaves together suspense, psychological depth, and unexpected twists, which made "My Darlings" an utterly addictive read.
Still continues to prove herself as a rising star in the mystery/thriller genre, and "My Darlings" is a testament to her talent. The book combines suburban intrigue with dark, twisted elements that kept this reader on the edge of her seat. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
Still's ability to craft a chilling suburban noir is unparalleled. Her characters leap off the page, and the tension builds to a heart-pounding crescendo. Whether you're a seasoned thriller reader or a newcomer to the genre, "My Darlings" will leave you breathless and questioning the secrets hidden within your own community.
Thank you to NetGalley and Rising Action Publishing for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Eloise Williams is the epitome of an all-round wonderful mother, involved in the PTO at her children’s schools and devotes her time to many boards raising money for worthy causes. Life is all about appearances to her and she is obsessive regarding her looks, her home and her children and the picture these paint to the rest of the world. She married her husband not so much out of love but more as a means to an end, as he has the funds to support the lifestyle she craves and desires and everything she does is to paint a picture of a perfect lifestyle.
She has a close group of friends but underneath she feels she is way better than any of them and again these women play part of a role vital to her life. But Eloise is not a nice woman, she is a serial killer and plans these attacks meticulously, she believes that she will never be caught.
To be honest I found the whole story way over the top, characters I struggled to care about and once this happens, I do lose interest quite quickly. Will I remember this book? I doubt it but I would be open to trying another book from this author.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the book, all opinions expressed are my own.
Thank you, NetGalley, for this ARC of 'My Darlings', by Marie Still, in exchange for an honest review - expected release date 10/8/2024
This book is advertised as Dexter meets Desperate Housewives, which caught my eye. The fact that the main character/serial killer was a female was also intriguing. The cover is great, too.
Eloise is a stay-at-home, PTO president, brunch going, demanding, helicopter mom with a twist - she's also a psychopathic serial killer. Her character was well thought out, well-explained and fully developed. All the other, secondary characters were more one dimensional, I wish she'd gone into more detail and created more depth with them, especially the daughter Bryony (that name errrgg, cringey).
Overall, the story paced well and it was worth the read, I finished it in less than 24 hrs! It didn't drag on, there was enough action to keep my interest and everything tied up in a nice, neat little bow - no loose ends! If you like thrillers and don't mind a little gore and violent descriptions, this book is for you!
Wow! I was fully invested in this story, it did not disappoint.
There are so many twists and even though I guessed a few of them correctly, I still enjoyed the way they flowed with the intensity of the story.
It was so interesting yet creepy to read the POV of a female serial killer, Eloise, and I enjoyed the comedic take on it. She is very full of herself and finds humans to essentially be a waste of space in her mind.
We also get the POV of other characters that are close to Eloise and their opinions of her, her stalker outside of her inner circle(the Watcher) and her daughter.
I don't want to give too much away, but I highly recommend this story, although it could be very triggering for some. This is a very dark and twisted thriller that includes domestic abuse and lots of violence with gore.
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the opportunity for review, all opinions are my own.
Look, I'm a simple woman. I see a book about a sociopath, con woman, or murderer who is a rich woman who loves her luxurious life and describes her beauty routines and the designers of her dresses? I get that book.
This is my type of book, so my rating/review is that I should have liked it better. While I like it best when it's a Jane Doe type "rooting for her" thing, I also like a "happily watching the noose tighten" The Last Mrs Parrish thing, so I definitely don't mind a book full of irredeemable people where none of them
And yet, I feel like this just hadn't quite gelled. There was no tightening noose, it felt more like a bunch of stuff happened. It's the sort of clean it up and tighten the plot that I think the optioned tv adaptation could work with easily, so I will eagerly keep my eye out for that.
This is probably more of a personal two stars, or some form of low three.
My Darlings was as complicated and intriguing as it was sinister and engrossing. Marie Still wrote a fascinating story that took a journey into the mind of a calculated sociopath. The story was centered on Eloise, a wife, mother, and interior designer who was also a serial killer. The writing was crisp and well executed. The characters were cleverly portrayed and beyond flawed. Similar to the well developed characters, the plot had depth, was sagacious, and thrilling. All in all this was a dark, thrilling, and addictively twisted story. If you like a harrowing story about a serial killer, dysfunctional friendships, and affluent living situations, you will likely devour this one. (Audio)
