A perfect vignette to demonstrate the depth of feeling that can be expressed even in such a brief glimpse into a story. The vulnerabilities of Lily are the focus as she weighs the choice she must make when her beloved's ship come into harbor. I loved the romance and emotion.

Such a sweet story. Very short, and could be read in a few minutes but even with the length being what it is the author was able to write with so much emotion and depth. Lily is the MC and the naval officer who is returning from war, whom Lily loves, hasn't even been given a character name.

The thoughts and feelings of Lily draw you into the story and you feel connected to her and her sorrow, her desire, her reserve. It was very well written in so few words. I would love to see the officer and Lily's backstory written as a full length novel or even this short story developed further.

I downloaded a free copy from smashwords.

Happy Reading!!!

This was a sweet short story (seriously, probably only a few pages long), but a fun way to start the day. A fun little story about a couple reuniting after being separated for a few years. Both have changed over the years and worry about what their reunion will mean. I loved having a fun little story from Donna while I await her next book.

Short (very, VERY short), simple, and sweet!!
Lily is awaiting the return of her naval officer after the war. But she isn't the same Lily she was when he left. Will he still want her?

For a short story, it managed to swoon me because of the way it was rendered in a heartfelt way. :) This short story actually expresses the essence of true and uncoditional love. :)
