What's the recipe to the ultimate disaster week?

Three unruly friends.
A wedding we shouldn't have been invited to.
Two unexpected romances.
A scoop of sexy.
And a double scoop of chaos.

Lydia is a good girl who is above revenge. Good thing she has us. No one cheats on our best friend and rides off into the sunset with his new bride.

What was supposed to happen? Unleash hell like two badasses. It was a simple plan, but we failed to anticipate a few things. A rogue prosthetic, an accidental exorcism, and dominatrix strippers willing to take things way too far, just to name a few.

What actually happened? As usual, nothing went as planned, especially when two sexy distractions popped into the mix. We were there to avenge our friend, not to get entangled with two cocky, arrogant men, who don’t like to hear the word no. I was sure we could resist.

I mean, it was only a week, right? What could happen in a week?

Not intrigued enough? There's totally a duck in this story.

Ah yeah. Now we have your undivided attention. Enjoy our chaos.

UPDATE: I'm upping my rating to 5 stars. I read this book half a decade ago, and I still think about it til this day!

Dominatrix strippers, three best friends, two unexpected romances, a rogue prosthetic, a wedding, and a duck?? There was no way I was passing this one up! If you think that sounds like one crazy story, then you would be absolutely right! I went in looking for love, comedy, and chaos, and I came out totally satisfied. If there is one thing I can promise you, it’s that you won’t read another book like Worth It this year...or probably ever!

Lydia’s ex, Anderson, is getting married to the woman he cheated on her with, and she was invited to their wedding. She tells her best friends, Kasha and Henley, she feels like going to the wedding is something she has to do. They don’t understand it, but being the great friends that they are they agree to go with her for moral support. Of course, exacting a little revenge on the groom to be is also a motivating factor.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Once they arrive, Kasha runs into a guy she knew in high school, Roman, …while she is half naked. After that, he seems to turn up everywhere just to see her make a fool of herself in some way or another. Considering she is the most accident prone woman alive, that happens a lot. It doesn’t take long for them to go from getting on each other’s nerves to getting each other off.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Henley is surprised to find out her ex- friend/boyfriend, Davis, is attending the wedding. The last time she saw him she was eighteen years old, and he had just taken her virginity. Considering he disappeared right after, she is surprised that he seems as into her now as he was when they were together. Davis is even hotter than she remembers, and she quickly decides it won’t hurt to show him exactly what it is he missed out on.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What begins as a fling for both couples starts to turn into something more. They live in different places, so they ignore the inevitable and try to have fun while it lasts. What will happen when the week is over and it’s time to say goodbye?

There is so much more that I want to say about this story, but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Throughout the entirety of the book one crazy thing happens after another. There is pranks being pulled, body parts being exposed, and accidents galore! If there is one thing this book is not, it’s boring! Kasha literally can’t stop showing her ass, her prosthetic has a mind of it’s own, and she is repeatedly attacked by members of the bird family. Davis gets new underwear, Henley gets a sore ass, the groom finds himself in deep shit, and Lydia drops the mic. If you want to understand exactly what I mean, you will have to read the book to find out!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Worth It by C.M. Owens and S.M. Shade is one of the most entertaining books I have ever read. The writing is engaging, the story is wild, and the characters are endearing. The only reason I didn’t give this five stars was because Kasha kept getting herself into the exact same situation a bit too much for my liking. Regardless, this book more than lived up to my expectations. Hilarious, heartwarming, outrageous, and fun, reading this was totally worth it!

Too funny. OMG, this was the perfect reading palate cleanser. Hen and Kasha are a hoot! Loved it!

That said, considering the high number of characters in the book, I wish the cast had been more racially diverse. But hey, you can't win them all. On to the next CM book!

4.5 Jill stars.

Was this book fun? Yep.

Was it hilarious? Yes.

Was it crazy? Hell yeah.

Did it make me swoon? Kind of. I loved Kasha's romance with Roman, although Henley's story wasn't as intriguing. All in all, I wouldn't say either of them were epic romances, but the whole package was quite nice.

As we get up to leave, he yells at her again. “This coffee tastes like shit! And it’s cold!”
My eyes meet Dorothy’s. “Let me translate. I speak asshole pretty well. He would like another cup of coffee, even though there’s nothing wrong with his. What he really wants is to feel like a man, and since the tiny appendage between his legs won’t let him, he gets off by being rude to women.”
[...]
“She-she called me an asshole!” he splutters.
Turning to Dorothy, I shrug. “I honestly thought he knew.”

Basically, this book is the equivalent of a dirty romantic comedy movie. There's a wedding, there's an evil bridezilla and two chicks plotting revenges against the whole wedding party. And while the crazy is underway, two of the three chicks find their HEA. Nothing too out of the norm, if not for the outragiously hilarious quality of it all. I'm not saying I LOL-ed at every single page, because sometimes the things were either too crazy or they involved such a level of embarrassment they made me blush or gasp rather than laugh. Still, I enjoyed it very much. It's the perfect light read.

“I thought you said we didn’t have sex.”
“Really glad we didn’t, since you obviously don’t remember this. How could you forget making my cock sing "I Will Always Love You" to your vagina?”
My eyes widen as he bursts out laughing. “I didn’t,” I groan, but I bet I did. It wouldn’t be my first dick chorus. Usually that comes a little later in a relationship though. You know a guy is a keeper when he lets you use your fingertips to make his pee hole move with the words like the little guy is the one belting out those awesome lyrics.
Try it. It’s epic.

See what I'm talking about? And this book is this level of awesome crazy from the beginning to the end. Some of the stunts they pulled were actually funny and clever, but others were plain gross or idiotic. I guess this is why the last half star fell.

Kasha was my favorite character. She's... insane, there's no other way to put it. She lost one of her arms and is now wearing Jill, a robotical arm which is itself a character. Kasha is the life of the book, IMO, and the banter between Roman and her was amazing.

This is to show her thinking processes...

Roman: “I go to work, then I go home, then I eat, go over some work files, sleep, then start all over again.”
I frown while gazing up at him as he stares thoughtfully over the lake.
“What about girls? I know there are lots of girls.”
Yes, I’m doing the coy thing where I pretend like I’m totally cool with that, while secretly waiting to make a mental list of other women to kill and get out of my way. Hiding bodies is the most important part of plotting a murder. This zen ground would be an excellent burial ground.

Roman was a great character, too. I liked how taken aback and thrilled he was at every insane thing Kasha and Henley did, and how he jumped aboard the crazy train. He's a guy whose life is as exciting as a night-stand, and not of the "one" variety. It was sweet to see him letting himself go and falling deeper and deeper for Kasha. It was like seeing him learn how to live. It added a bit of depth to a book that is mostly fun. But also Kasha's relationship to her parents was surprising and more human than I would have guessed given the type of fiction.

Lydia comes out of the bathroom, smiling and shaking her head at us. “You sluts,” she teases. “You both look like you’ve been rode hard and put away wet.”
“I’m not a slut. I just have a friendly vagina,” I toss back, and head off to shower, leaving Kasha to tell our plans to Lydia.

I had a really rocky start with this and very nearly bailed out after a couple of chapters. The main characters are kind of spazzes and the tone is over the top with more than a little slapstick thrown in. The cover didn't help because it screams "cheap laughs" with emphasis on the cheap. And then Henley jumps right into sex with Davis, all the while thinking "this is a bad idea" and I wrote her off, hoping Kasha wasn't as stupid.

But Kasha is similarly stupid. And I continued anyway. Because at that point, it started to get interesting. The story evens into a steady pace. And the characters smooth out into an actual character arc. And we learn enough about Davis and Roman that I didn't hate finding out more.

I'm honestly not sure how that happened. And then the other side characters, who had been no better than cardboard to that point, turned out to have hidden depths. And Henley has to remap what she thinks she knows. And I loved it more than a little.

I'd like to justify giving this four stars because that last half was golden. But I can't shake the memory of that start. And how often I very nearly stopped reading because it just didn't hold together very well. It could have used some hint of that depth earlier and maybe a little less emphasis on the hijinks. So I'm going to go with three stars and say that I'm glad I made it past the bad bits.

A note about Steamy: There are a handful of explicit sex scenes that just edge into the high end of my steam tolerance. We have two central couples and they're connecting largely (or at least initially) through sex. So that's reasonable and all. But it's as mixed a bag as the rest of the story with later scenes much stronger and integral than the first few.

I know I am in the minority here, but I just didn’t like this book at all. I thought all of the characters were juvenile and immature. The “funny” moments felt forced to me. It seemed like every chapter something crazy had to happen and it was just too over the top. I felt the characters were shallow and didn’t connect to anyone in the book. Sadly, this was a big miss for me.

If I’d to sum this book up in one word it would be hilarious.

Although it’s not without its faults. The constant display of Kasha’s knickers wore thin after a while. And some of the pranks verged on cruel.
But ultimately I couldn’t stop laughing and I’m talking tears rolling my face laughing.

So fucking good you will pee your pants, snort uncontrollably.

Worth It is a insanely hilarious romantic comedy. Think Wedding Crashers meets The Sweetest Thing.
A group of best friends who are on a mission to "crash a wedding".

This book will have you laughing almost throughout the entire book. This is the first co-written book by C.M. Owens & S.M. Shade and they instantly prove what a good writing team they are.
It is almost like getting two books in one as the story is mainly focuses around Kasha and Henley. Two best friends who are attending a wedding to support their friend Lydia.
Kasha and Henley have some romance brewing when they run into two individuals from their past, Roman and Davis.
What ensues is some insanely ridiculous moments involving some out of control pranks, a robotic arm and some untimely embarrassing mishaps.
If you are looking for a funny read that will have you in stitches then this is the book that will do that hands down.

This is one of the best romantic comedies I have ever read so I am now kicking myself for waiting so long to read it! GAH! The hilarity is PRICELESS. I had to stop reading at some points because I was laughing so hard and making a fool out of myself! If you are a fan of laugh out loud romantic comedies you are going to want to read this one! If you are a fan of Tara Sivec's Chocolate Lovers series then you are going to want to read this. AND, if you are a fan of the Virgin Romance Novelist series by Meghan Quinn then this is a must have for you! Those are my favorite romantic comedy series and this one stands really well with them!!!

Worth it is a hilarious, laugh out loud funny novel about three friends who attend a wedding. Lydia is the grooms ex and wants to go for closure... Or maybe some revenge? Kasha attends the wedding with her girls because she is the stepsister of the grooms. Shes accident prone, doesn't give two craps about what people think of her, and has a little weapon that may or may not break a few nutsacks. Finally, we have Heneley is there for moral support. But she gets more than she bargained for when a man from her past is also attending the party.

Find out what these HILARIOUS chicks get themselves into when they attend a hoity toity wedding. There is a lot of sex, a lot of hysterically funny moments, and a few instances of romance that will make any romantic swoon! I myself HIGHLY recommend this novel. If you are like me and this has been sitting on your shelves since it was released then I SUGGEST taking some time and reading it. It's so freakin fun!!!!!!!!!!

Disappointing

I had such expectations for this book as I love C.M. Owen's Wild Ones series and those are goofy and funny. The reviews for this book indicated also zany and laugh out loud humor, but it was totally wasted on me. I didn't find it all funny and skimmed through most of the book to finish it.

This book had so many laugh out loud moments, but it also took things too far.

Mild spoilers:

There is one scene where a bachelorette party is drugged with E, including the strippers. Maybe I'm in the minority here but this took it way past funny and into the realm of sexual assault.

If someone is drugged AGAINST THEIR WILL and then is put in a sexual situation it is assault. The strippers were there just to strip and do their jobs and all the sudden they are high and drugged and have married women who love their husbands and wouldn't normally cheat on them (and yes I think licking another dick is cheating 100%) trying to lick their dick. And this book only mentions what the characters see from their point of view. There would have been numerous hook ups and acts that occurred and against their will or normal behaviour in their right minds. To me? Not funny and not a situation that should be used in humour.

But it was a light read other than that situation, so if your looking for characters who do outrageous stuff, and don't have a serious bone in their bodies this is the book for you

Tear-jerking laughter!!!

I FLOVE this book hard!! Even with the crazy things that happen I can't help but feel, from the way the girls talk, that they aren't prissy pretentious little princesses, but that they are so real!

Everyone has to read it, no matter what they would normally read. It needs to be read. Such a giggle, I want to read it again for the first time.

I don't even want to give anything away, just expect the unexpected. -Autumn, 5 Stars

OTT, so much fun, wackiness and hilarity!!!
My "smile" muscles are aching.
This book certainly packed quite a punch.
Kasha and Henley were a blast....but I would really love to see a story just about Lydia by these two authors....she was the quiet one of the three friends by comparison...but you know what they say about the quiet ones...plus I really wanted to know more about her.

There are definitely plenty of books out there with crazy wedding stories but this one really shined for me!!!
It had just the right amount of absurdity and enough hijinks to keep me in stitches.

A Rom-com delight.😂

DNF 64%...

I tried, I really tried. But I was lied to. They promised me laughs and fun times. The only reason I lasted this far was because this book was recommended a lot. But now I ask myself: why?
All the situations were extremely ridiculous and exaggerated. I couldn't differentiate the females nor the males characters because they were all the same person, just with different names. Author could just have chose one name for the h and one for the H and tell the same story.
I wanted to confirm who (I think) dyed the bride's dress but I couldn't subject myself to that torture anymore (Yes! Torture! My eyes hurt because all of the eye-rolling).

That said, I didn't even find the book "sexy" what with all the groaning and smirking and crying out names everytime, it just got really boring.

And those "friends" (insert another eye-rolling).
Oh, my friend dissapeared into the night in a party... meh.

Oh, my friend just fell... meh and haha.

Oh, my friend left the bar drunk and alone... meh.

Oh, my friend is "heartbroken" and I'm here to be with her but there's a hot guy so... meh with her.

After all that, the bachelorette part was so wrong, It wasn't funny at all. I was thinking about all the possible accidental ODs, sexual assaults and other problems, to be laughing about any of that.

Ugh. No no.

Mine is an unpopular opinion, I know, so everyone should just the read the book and see what do you think. Maybe I was just expecting too much.

This was worth it. I don't think I have laughed so hard because of a book before. I couldn't read it at work because I was laughing out loud.

It's dual POV between Henley and Kasha. Both girls are a laugh riot but I love Kasha even more.

You know a guy is a keeper when he lets you use your fingertips to make his pee hole move with the words like the little guy is the one belting out those awesome lyrics.

I think I died from that one.

I mean how can you not laugh at some of these quotes.

I want to tear off his clothes and ride him like a stolen bike.

I am seriously stealing that line though.

I'm not a slut. I just have a friendly vagina.

Another one I'm stealing.

So glad I spent the $3.99 on this bad boy because I will more than likely read it again just because of the humor. I feel much lighter after this book.

So worth it.

Update - Second time reading this and the characters still got me laughing!

Now this book was fucking HILARIOUS. The characters were comical, their intentions to ruin the wedding, although evil-ish, ended up being childish attempts to piss off the bride and the groom and let me just say that I enjoyed EVERY SINGLE PART of the story.

Some scenes I still remember that made me laugh out loud for several seconds were those involving laxatives and the groom's "oops potty situation", the crazy bachelorette party, the even crazier bachelor party, the game involving eggs and the many funny dialogues by Lydia along with her robotic arm! Special mention to her variety of uniquely designed underwear. My only question is where can I find the same?

Do yourself a favour and read this book. It's definitely Worth It!

Worth It might have one of the worst covers I’ve seen in a while, but it’s a cute, fun story about best friends attending one of their ex's weddings.

The whole book takes place across a week-long wedding celebration - kind of like the last season of How I Met Your Mother. There are two main protagonists, Kasha and Henley, who both run into men from their childhoods while planning a series of pranks to sabotage the prenuptial events.

This is one of those books where I know if I think about it too much, I’ll pick apart the plot for things I don’t like, so I’m choosing not to. It did have one of my least favourite “comedic” tropes - a clumsy heroine. I always find the attempt to be funny by having an FMC fall over and show her unfortunate underwear to be a lazy attempt at humour, and it happened a lot in this book. Repeatedly.

Still, overall, I’m not mad at this book, Worth It. I enjoyed the setup, format and premise and breezed through it poolside on holiday in one afternoon.

This book was heavily recommended in a variety of reading groups... but to be honest the cover photo really didn't do anything for me... so it took me a while to get to it.... Compound that with my usual style of going into books blind and in chapter 1 I was like WTF am I reading? So first just give this book a chance, you will not be disappointed! In fact... you may pee your pants, warning in advance, this book is hilarious

Kasha and Henley are two best friends who are attending a wedding with their friend Lydia (ex of the groom). SUPPORT is their key role throughout these pre-wedding events, parties, etc... what could happen? These three best friends (and some new eye candy) wreck havoc!! Sit back and enjoy insanely ridiculous pranks and embarrassing mishaps. You will definitely finish this book in one if you give it a chance plus a sequel is now coming out!

Definitely a favorite for somebody

While somebody, somewhere will simply love this one, that somebody, is not me. Drunken men do little for me, in a romance. Call it what you will, drunken women are, for me, much worse.
I read about them drinking, throwing up, throwing themselves at men, drinking even more, throwing up more, and throwing themselves at more men, til I reached my saturation point. That came, I was surprised to see, at the 12% point.
So, while this 'romance' may be right up your alley, its not for me.

Over the Top entertaining read

This book is perfect for those who love over the top raunch rom-com humor. It features 3 friends who decide to crash the wedding of an ex-boyfriend and create mischief.
Think back to your college days and your behavior at frat parties, that’s how i would describe the scene.

Have a few glasses of wine before you read. It’s funnier when drunk so you can suspend believe and just go with the flow.

Oh my goodness! This book will leave you in stiches, have you in tears, and sprawled out, dying from such laughter in the story. This story is written in such a way, you will get drawn in and will never want to get up get away, the comedic timing is that good. The witty comebacks are awesome and the plot is fantastic.
Authors C.M. Owens and S. M. Shade have created a masterpiece – what you have is Henley, Kasha and Lydia-3 BFFs attending the wedding of Kasha’s stepbrother, who is also Lydia’s cheating ex( small world). Add to the story some incredibly sexy men , both from their past, and
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
Let me tell you, this story reminds me of the crazy things I would get into when I get together with my BFF and the things we do when we have some “wild courage” and the authors make sure to thrown in some things about BFF, antics and wild/crazy/fun times plus the plot which im sure sounds ludicrous but really , in the scheme of things, doesn’t. It sounds all plausible and true. I loved every moment of this story and would love to see some sort of follow up. I wanted to hate the ex-fiancée but something about him, his sadness, his promiscuity , his reasons, his screwed up life- made me like him (I liked all the characters except the woman he was going to marry and her friend) those two needed to get themselves beat with a shoehorn. Trust me, read the book and see what Im talking about. Though this book is written about revenge and revisiting the past, this book is really about love and the beauty of 2nd chance love. This is a book about fabulous love stories , written with a great depth by both authors who wrote their specific part(s) beautifully. This is going to be the 1st hit of 2017 and I hope there is a followup to this and the characters in this book. What a fabulous, beautiful book of love stories.

3 friends, 1 wedding, angry ducks, and oh yes, a bit of revenge, what could possibly go wrong?

I am going to try to write a review, though it may be a bit chaotic, because boy this book, wow! <3

We get to see the POV of 2 of those friends, namely Kasha and Henley. The book switches between their POVs. I loved both of the girls instantly. And I also liked Lydia. I am still hoping that girl gets her own book, I am quite curious about her weekend. We see flashes of it through Kasha and Henley's POV but it is just not enough for me.

Kasha was fantastic! I adored her from the first moment. I was also very curious about her arm. I hear you say her arm? Well she has a prosthetic arm. For most of the book we don't really find out what has happened that she lost her arm, only that it happened not that long ago. I am quite happy that we didn't find out the story instantly. Now it was really personal and private when she did tell Roman about it.
Though the arm is a handful. :P She is still in the testing mode and um, there are some hilarious scenes where the arm does certain things because Kasha was unconsciously thinking about certain things. Too the point that Roman definitely didn't want Jill anywhere near his, um, certain parts.
The stuff she does while at the wedding? Brilliance, pure brilliance. She is quite the evil girl at times. I wouldn't mess with her if I had the chance.
We also see some of her family history (since it is her stepbrother who is marrying). I loved that it was added. It fitted the book perfectly, and didn't feel out of place at all. If anything it gave just that extra depth to the story. Like sprinkles on an already delicious cupcake.

Then there is Henley, clumsy Henley who in the span of a week shows more underwear to the world than anyone might want to do. Yep. This girl is really clumsy. She bumps against stuff, falls, trips, and much more. But that gave her charm. I wasn't really annoyed with it, in fact I found her adorable.
She also gets a backstory which has to do with the guy she meets. We find out about her past, about how these two know each other, but also what happened between them and why Henley is so uncertain about everything. And I can say I don't blame her for not trusting Davis at first, and also running away at times. I would probably have done the same.
Like Kasha she also pulls some tricks to make the wedding a little bit spicier, and just like Kasha... I don't want to mess with this girl.

I loved both the bachelor and the bachelorette party. I just laughed so hard when all those things got oh so much out of hand. :P Penises everywhere + strippers + xtc (don't ask) for a bachelorette party. And then the bachelor party with dominatrix strippers and oh yes #yama!

Then again all the events just got better with a bit of Kasha/Henley extra added to it.

I was rooting for both the girls and their guys. Oh my *fans herself* the sparks just flew around and almost set fire to my kindle *pets her poor kindle*. Even outside of the steamy scenes the sparks were flying, plus I just loved the banter between the characters. It made everything even better.

Steamy scenes? OH boy, yes, so many steamy scenes, but, thankfully (sorry, I am still not entirely up for reading explicit sex scenes, it just feels a bit too private for me to read), nothing too graphic. Of course there are descriptions (plus hilarious tales afterwards), but nothing too explicit. But you will definitely have to cool down after reading some of the scenes, believe me. So hold some cold water or ice cubes near you. :P

I also loved that while the general tone is lighthearted, hilarious, funny, there is also enough seriousness to add a new flavour to the mix. As the week pass the girls find out that they are quite happy with the guys, and that they actually don't want to leave them. Thus they start to think what they are going to do. Long distance? Will it all work? Will x go away again? Is it truly something more than just a fuck-week?
And again, also the whole family stuff is there as well.

Extra love go to the ending + epilogue. I love that the authors added those chapters!

All in all, I laughed myself silly during many of the scenes, not to mention I had to cool myself down for several of the steamy scenes.

I would highly recommend this one to everyone!
