Numbers.
They haunt me.
I can't look into a person's eyes without seeing the six-digit date of their death.
I’m helpless to change it, no matter how hard I try.
I’ve trained myself to look down. Away. Anywhere but at their eyes.
My camera is my escape. My salvation. Through its lens, I see only beauty and life—not death and despair.
Disconnected from all those around me, I’m content being alone, simply existing.
Until I meet him.
Tavian.
The man beyond the numbers.
How can I stay away, when everything about him draws me in?
But how can I fall in love, knowing exactly when it will expire?

Erin Noelle provides an entertaining read with a very cool cliffhanger. The story is very hard to review without giving much away so I’m going to zip my lips on this one and leave you with a quote.

"We aren’t an accidential meeting of souls. Trust the timing of your life.”

The story was well paced and exciting. I'm definitely pumped up to see what happens next!

"Anytime, anywhere. I'm all yours."

Exp1re is the first book in the Exp1re Duet. Offering a unique plot, complex characters, and passion, this contemporary/sci-fi hybrid is one that will certainly peak your interest and keep you guessing the entire read.

"Unfortunately, time isn't on our side."
Lyra Jennings is a loner who has found success as a photographer. Using her camera as a shield, she has found a way to cope with the losses she has experienced in her life. In addition to experiencing great loss, Lyra has been given a gift. This gift is quite unique and Lyra views it as a curse. On a trip to Europe for work, she is thrown into a unique situation and finds herself in the arms of Tavian West. Despite the circumstances that brought them together, Tavian and Lyra embark on a journey where they experience living life to its fullest. Tavian teaches Lyra about living and letting go. They form a unique connection that only grows stronger with every passing moment. When the two are forced to return to the states and their respective lives, only time will tell if they are meant to find a way to be together.

"His arms provide a refuge I never knew could exist for someone as messed up as me."
Told in dual POV,Exp1re is a tender romance full of intrigue. Both Tavian and Lyra have experienced great loss and their connection brings healing and revelation to them both. Tavian is quite the hero and the way in which he cared for Lyra left me swooning with every turn of the page. Lyra has much growing to do and her transformation is quite remarkable as the plot progresses. I found the picturesque setting was created with such commitment that it existed as its own main character. The story ends with a bit of a cliffy and the surprise that is revealed is certainly one that left me scrambling to start the next book. (In fact, I will be venturing in as soon as I hit post on this review!)

Overall, Exp1re is an absolute must read for contemporary romance readers who enjoy a tender romance with a hint of intrigue in their read. Although I don't consider this book to be paranormal, certain elements grace the edge of the sci-fi genre. This is my first Erin Noelle read and I could not be more excited about discovering a new author to explore. Now on to Etern1ty as I cannot wait to find out what is going to happen next.

Genre: Contemporary Romance/Fantasy
Type: Book 1 of 2 from Exp1re Duet
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Lyra Jennings was a recluse. As a photographer, her job was to capture life, yet she avoided living her own life. She was born with an ability that quickly became a burden the moment she figured it out.

Tavian West was a daredevil. Living life to the fullest had become his mantra for the past few years. An unexpected encounter with the uptight Lyra triggered something in him that urged him to open up her eyes while reexamining his own life.

I promised her I’d be her rock to lean on, and I won’t let her down.

Tavian's spirit was infectious. He had the ability to make everyone around him comfortable and open. He was also very attentive and caring.

But I don’t do connections. They always lead to hurt and heartache, because no matter how strong and resilient the relationship is, no one lives forever.

Lyra was the complete opposite. Guilt and fears prevented her from enjoying her life. But considering her situation, her reluctance was understandable.

The story had an interesting concept. I like the sci-fi/fantasy element and it had more romance than I initially thought. Throughout the book, I had a few theories, but the ending was something else and would definitely make book 2 much more intriguing.

“I don’t give a shit what you have on or if you do your hair or put on makeup. This trip is about letting go, learning more about who you are and experiencing new things."

Exp1re is a story of opening up to new experience and living life to the fullest. It would appeal to readers looking for a romance with a hint of sci-fi/fantasy.

“Life is measured in width and depth, rather than length, Lyra. We can’t control how long we’re here, but we sure as hell can decide what we do with the time we’re given.”

So, EXP1RE is actually the first book that I have ever read by Erin Noelle and I am not disappointed one bit. This book was amazing the entire time. It definitely captures you from the first page and keeps you hooked throughout the characters amazing journey. Speaking of the characters, I absolutely loved both Lyra and Tavian. The one thing I didn't like was the god damn cliffhanger. I need ETERN1TY now. I need to know what happens to them!! I can't wait another month!!

I'm so happy that I read this book and now I don't know what I'm going to do all day. I'm in a book hangover.

Lyra Jennings was born with a special gift but it can also be viewed as a curse. Not knowing what her vision of numbers meant until one memorable day, Lyra then guarded her heart and chose to live a life at a distance from others. As a professional photographer, Lyra is able to observe and not form connections. Deciding it’s time to complete a task she’s postponed for years, Lyra takes a trip to Europe in search of resolution and possibly new creative discoveries.

“I’m ready to ‘surrender to what is’ and ‘let go of what was’—the first two steps in my newly adopted life motto.”

Tavian West is a college math professor ready to take his annual solo vacation where he completes items off his bucket list. Learning at a young age to take advantage of time and opportunity, Tavian sets course for Europe. With his easy personality and charisma, it’s effortless for Tavian to form friends wherever he travels.

“Your way sucks, and I’m gonna prove it to you.”

The paths of Lyra and Tavian converge during a horrific event and they rely on each other for safety and temporary companionship. Recognizing Lyra to be a guarded person, Tavian tries to befriend her and show her how life needs to be lived. Though Lyra has her reasons for not getting attached to Tavian, her boundaries begin to blur as she documents Tavian’s adventures in pictures.

“Well, you failed miserably, buttercup. And I’m starting to think you enjoy teasing and tormenting me.” He presses his length into me and adds, “Two can play that game, ya know?”

What occurs between Lyra and Tavian is a slow burn and their chemistry is palpable. Tavian’s appeal rests in his intelligence, outlook and affable nature. As he offers a lightheartedness balance to Lyra’s world, their banter is fun and sexy. During their limited time traveling together, Lyra starts to view the world in a different way rather, which gives her the strength to take more chances.

Told in dual POV, the characters are richly developed and the cadence of the story feels natural as the plot progresses. The author, Erin Noelle, is new to me and I like her sensibility in creating characters with real problems and vulnerabilities. Additionally, the story felt unique and offered a couple of twists.

Exp1ire offers a storyline steeped in romance but is also about taking chances despite the consequence of hurting later. It isn’t about the destination but rather about the journey. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading how it all ends!

top pick

One of the most breathtaking, fascinating, and thought-provoking reads of the year! Erin Noelle has left me speechless!

EXP1RE is not only my very first read by author Erin Noelle, it’s unlike any romance I’ve ever read before! The amount of JOY and the amount of trepidation going into this book was REAL! To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. This book was absolutely PHENOMENAL! EXP1RE is book one in the EXP1RE DUET and it will BLOW YOUR MIND! I’m kicking myself for not reading this author’s work sooner, but you have to start somewhere and boy am I glad I did, because Ms. Noelle has made a FAN FOR LIFE with this release!

”I feel this overwhelming need to keep you safe. I can’t explain it. It’s just...what I’m supposed to do. Please let me. Don’t shut me out.”

I know my review is going to be very vague. The thought of spoiling this magnificent read haunts me, so I will be giving no names, no plot lines, nothing. I will, however, sing its praises all over the damn place! EXP1RE is as unique as it is sexy! It’s suspenseful and enticing! It has lured me in with its haunting cover and mysterious synopsis. I finished reading my early copy weeks ago and yet it still has a hold on me. Yes, this is book one in a duet. Yes, it ends with quite the jaw-dropping cliffhanger. Yes, this book will leave you speechless and yet you will want to shout to everyone who will listen that they need this book in their lives. Once you start, there is no escaping. You are in it for the long-haul and even though it has the dreaded cliffy at the end, you will be so overwhelmed with feelings, in the grand scheme of things nothing else will matter.

“Midnight may surround us, but I’ll be damned if I let her slip into the darkness.”

This book...this duet is all about fate, destiny, and an insurmountable love. It will give you chills. It will give you goosebumps. It will fill your heart with overwhelming joy and dread. It’s hauntingly beautiful, as well as, passionate, complex, and emotional. It will take you on one hell of a journey, one that you will wish was never-ending. Erin Noelle made a brand new super fan with this story and I can’t wait until the whole world knows how extraordinary this book truly is. This was an EASY CHOICE to add to my TOP PICK List for the year and I have no doubt that when book two releases, it will be right by its side.

"Thank you, Tavian West from Philadelphia,” she whispers, her lips less than an inch from mine. “I’m ready to start living again.”

Characters:
Tavian (26):
Tavian is teaching undergrad algebra classes at the University of Pennsylvania while he’s working on his PhD in statistics. He’s a take charge kind of guy. He’s strong, authoritative, but always friendly and easily makes those around him smile. He lost his dad and his 2 brothers in a factory explosion and since their death he is determined to grab life by the balls and live every second to its fullest.
”Every summer since I was eighteen, I’ve taken a bucket-list trip, crossing off items in my never-ending notebook of things I want to do before I die. They started close to home when I was younger, things I could afford, like hiking Niagara Falls, partying on Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras, catching a Red Sox game from the Green Monster in Fenway. Those couple weeks, where I get to explore and wander and learn shit I never knew about myself and this crazy ass world we live in, are the highlight of my year. They’re my reminder to live life to the fullest, to not take anything for granted.”

Lyra (23):
Lyra Is a photographer for Wanderer magazine.
"I find the beauty in the ability to capture a single moment in time, which can never be exactly replicated, and how the memories are frozen forever in one simple photograph.
When Lyra looks into someone's eyes she has the ability to see the date they will die. This "gift" has resulted in her avoiding people and living like a hermit. Since the loss of her parents, she has intentionally kept everyone at arms length and is very lonely and alone in this world.

Story:
During a terrorist attack at an airport in Spain, Lyra and Tavian literally run into each other as they are trying to seek shelter amidst the chaos of the explosions. From that point on they decide to stick together for the next 12 days of Tavian's vacation. Although Tavian has a girlfriend back home he explains to Lyra that the relationship has fizzled. Lyra and Tavian have a strong connection and as they travel across various countries and experience many adventures their attraction blossoms into love. So what happens when their 10 days is up? 🤔 A big old cliffhanger, that's what 😬

My Thoughts:
Wow, what a gripping prologue. The minute Lyra realizes what the numbers mean is heartbreaking because the realization comes at the price of an immeasurable loss for her.

I honestly thought I was picking up a thriller/suspense book as the cover doesn't evoke a warm and fuzzy romance type book. So I was pleasantly surprised when I realized this was a love story. I felt the instant attraction between Lyra and Tavian. Lyra definitely has more to overcome in this first book. As noted above, she avoids people due to her special gift, so living in the moment rather than the past is something she has to learn how to do. Tavian pushes her outside her comfort zone and was a huge voice of support and encouragement.
"It's time you stop hiding behind your camera and start living. I want to help you do that."

“This trip is about letting go, learning more about who you are and experiencing new things. I just want to help you open up and try new things”

He made Lyra feel cherished and appreciated and with him by her side she was willing to experience life. I thought Lyra's character had tremendous growth through this book.
"I’m ready to ‘surrender to what is’ and ‘let go of what was’—the first two steps in my newly adopted life motto.”
“Hopefully after I conquer those, I’ll figure out how to ‘trust in what will be"

Now, to address the fact that Tavian has a girlfriend back home....
I guess you could consider Lyra the "other woman". However, there were a couple reasons that Tavian cheating on his girlfriend back home didn't bother me.

1. According to Tavian, the relationship with Annie sounds like it's pretty much over anyway. "Annie and I have basically been living separate lives since she returned from her yearlong sabbatical, though Lord knows I’ve tried my damnedest to get us back on track. Anytime I’ve mentioned long-term future plans, she’s been noncommittal and evasive, and I can’t remember the last time we went on a date or even had sex.”

2. There is a strong connection between Tavian and Lyra and Tavian knows she's "The One" for him. "I used to think my dad was full of shit when he told me about finding The One. How I’d know without question just by the look in her eyes and the feel of her touch. I just wasn’t expecting it to be like… this.”

3. Tavian tries really hard to keep his distance from Lyra. He does NOT want to be a cheater and he knows Lyra deserves better than being the other woman. He feels like crap because pursuing Lyra goes against his moral code and I appreciated that this was bothering him. "Though it may make me the douchebag of the century, I did attempt to call Annie yesterday before anything actually happened between me and Lyra. I know it’s all semantics since I’ve been pursuing her almost the entire trip, but the decent person in me thought I should at least give my girlfriend a head’s up that I’d found my soul mate and officially needed to end things. You know, to ease my conscience from being a grade-A asshole cheater to just a piece-of-shit coward who delivers that kind of news over the phone from the other side of the globe.”

Honestly, there wasn't anything that I didn't love about Tavian. He exudes confidence, has an awesome personality and is incredibly sexy and easy to love.😍 I loved that he struggled with the fact that he technically had a girlfriend back home but had found his soul mate in Lyra. What's a guy to do in that situation? 🤔 He was trying to do right by both girls, but in the end he just couldn't resist his true love.
“We aren’t an accidental meeting of souls. Trust the timing of your life”

I was absolutely stunned and shocked with the twist at 95%. WHAT??? 😳😳😳. I definitely did NOT see that coming. And the cliffhanger at the end...OMG!!!

The pace and flow of this book was fantastic and I was captivated by every word. Living vicariously through Lyra and Tavian as they went on adventure after adventure and watching them fall in love was a wonderful experience. I can't wait to dive into Book 2.

“Life is measured in width and depth, rather than length, Lyra. We can’t control how long we’re here, but we sure as hell can decide what we do with the time we’re given.”

Quotes:
"I get that just five hours ago we were complete strangers, but after what we’ve been through, I feel this overwhelming need to keep you safe. I can’t explain it. It’s just… what I’m supposed to do."

"What we lived through today only reinforces the importance of my trips. Those hateful cowards stole the running of the bulls from me, but I’ll be damned if I let them take anything else.”

“A transatlantic flight, a terrorist attack, a daredevil escape, a road trip with a stranger, and now a sexy half-dressed man standing within reaching distance. Five firsts for me.”

"It’s bad enough that I almost died, but being reminded that there’s not a soul on the planet who would’ve cared either way is a bit depressing.”

“I read, I take pictures and listen to music, I binge-watch documentaries, and I do yoga—all things that are the exact opposite of daring and adventurous. I’m boring on an exciting day.”

“When bacon is involved, I can’t be held accountable for my actions.”

This book was alright IMO but I really wanted to like it more than I do. Way more than I do. I was fascinated by the blurb and although it started off really strong my fascination obviously only stuck with the blurb and didn’t continue.
This is another book for me personally I’m not entirely sure what the author was trying to aim at here. There was that sci-fi touch to it and then it was pretty much 9-5 romance which I found to be disappointing.
The characters are strong and the shining star in the book is Tavian. Although he does cheat on his girlfriend but who am I to judge? Well actually yes I am judging. I hate cheaters. I enjoyed the writing yet not enough to continue reading properly so I skimmed.
All the best to those who want to read the book. I’m sure that I have different strokes to anyone else out there.

Well holy shit !!!!! It is my first read by Erin Noelle and what a way for me to discover a new to me author because Exp1re was simply amazing.

This book is unlike any other book I have read. The storyline so interesting, intriguing and just well different but had me thinking about what life would be like as the main female character. To look into someone's eyes and know when they were going to die I don't know how I could do it.

This book starts off with a fair amount of tragedy and its heart breaking but for me what stood out is Lyra and what she sees when she looks at someone. The loneliness that she has chosen to avoid having to see when others will die. I can't even imagine that kind of life and immediately I feel sad for her.

Enter Tavian and instantly I am in love with this man. His take on life, wanting to live it to the fullest. These two are opposites, while she retreats and avoids he takes the bulls by the horns. I couldn't helped but be sucked in to their story.

Strangers almost thrust together by what I would call fate but that fate has an expiry date on it or does it? With Lyra knowing when others will die just by looking into their eyes I couldn't help but think to myself and honestly pray please please give me a plot twist somewhere because while I think I know where this is heading I don't want it to be that way because these two have found their way into my heart and their story needs to have an HEA.

And yes I would say that we get some plot twist thrown our way including an ending that left me yelling NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO desperately tapping my kindle wanting more pages to appear.

An absolutely brilliant storyline with characters that I found myself clinging to with hope. I will absolutely one click the next book and I will also be checking out more fro Erin Noelle,

First, let me start by saying, I saw the covers for the EXP1RE duet and instantly thought 'Heyo! Erin Noelle is writing again, and I'm definitely going to want these books on my shelf'. I mean Come On!! LOOK HOW DIFFERENT THEY ARE COMPARED TO EVERYTHING OUT THERE. They are colorful and eye catching (pun intended). GORGEOUS

BUT what makes this book even better- she wove an even more beautiful story inside the cover. THIS STORY. It was unbelievably original. It was like nothing I have read before, and even though it has a sci-fi factor, it left me thinking that this could be real life. There might really be people out there like this. She got me thinking and questioning, and I love that about a book.
This story was amazing. These characters hooked me. The plot threw me through a loop leaving me saying wait, what. It left me bare handed screaming GIMME GIMME GIMME!! I NEED ETERN1TY like Spongebob needs water in Sandy's fishbowl house. I NEEEEEED ITTTTTT.

Judge this book by the cover.. grab it because its beautiful both inside and out.

Erin Noelle at her finest. A beautiful story of finding yourself and discovering love. Of two characters learning what they're capable of. I was sucked into EXP1RE from word one and loved every single word after. Erin weaved together a story that was more than just a romance. The details that went in to this story had me feeling like I was with Tavian and Lyra on their adventures. One of the best I've read of 2017 and, dare I say, the best of Erin Noelle yet.

Exp1re is the first book in Erin's duet series, Expire. And once again, my review will be extremely vague as giving anything away, gives away the story. So this review will be mostly what this book made me feel while reading it.

"Life is measured in width and depth, rather than length. We can't control how long we're here, but we sure as hell can decided what we do with the time we're given."

Exp1re is about fate, destiny and always living life fully. My heart was fully vested in this book from the get go. My emotions were everywhere with this book. This book is an emotional rollercoaster. Lyra etched herself into my heart my the very beginning. And Tavian - WOW. He's something else. These two are polar opposites and that's what makes this story even more enjoyable.

And that ending - yes, it's a cliffy - a BIG ONE!! It's a duet, I expected it but at the same time I still hate that I now have to patiently wait after that. Cause that ending is killing me!!!!

Erin wrote a fabulous story with characters that you will love. The reason for the four star rating - I expected a bit more on the sci-fi side based on the premise of the book, but the overall story was just as amazing. So please know that going in, this is mostly a romance novel, not sci-fi or fantasy.

OMG. The whole concept of this book has had me on the edge of my seat and flying through the pages! I couldn’t get anything else done! I’m so grateful I can jump immediately into book 2 after writing this review!

I really don’t want to divulge too much about this storyline, but the twist at the end of this book took me by surprise. I can’t even imagine where book 2 will take us and what solution or conclusion it could possibly come to aside from the inevitable. This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read!!!

I am not into paranormal or fantasy books. When I was given the opportunity to be on a launch team for Erin’s duet release she mentioned it had a small fantasy element in the story but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and apply for the team. Erin is one of my favorite authors and I trusted her to give me one hell of a story and that she did.

We discover in the prologue that tragedy strikes Lyra as a young girl. So as a young adult she is withdrawn and keeps to herself. As she travels to Spain for a job she is in the airport when there is an explosion this is when she literally runs into Tavian. Tavian and Lyra escape and begin a journey to find safety that quickly turns into an adventure. During this time Tavian slowly begins to bring Lyra out of her shell she starts living and having fun. Tavian calls her Buttercup she does not like this but slowly it grew on her!! The story has it all suspense, angst, and lots of heartbreak all weaved together in one perfect story. We even get some humor and banter Tavian likes to keep things light and carefree on their trip. He lives life to its fullest and begs Lyra to join him at every turn.

But the thing that I really enjoyed was the detailed descriptions of everything especially the landscape, hotel rooms and the adventures as they traveled.

Yes there is a cliffhanger but you only have to wait a month.

Some of my favorite quotes:

“Why?” I whisper. “Why me?”
“We aren’t an accidental meeting of souls. Trust the timing of your life.”

“No promises and no expectations. Whatever happens from here, happens because it’s supposed to. For the rest of tonight, it’s just you and me, and then we let Fate do her job.”

“Life is measured in width and depth, rather than length, Lyra. We can’t control how long we’re here, but we sure as hell can decide what we do with the time we’re given.”

This was a journey of self-discovery and opening up to all the possibilities that life has to offer.
It’s in this moment as I soar freely like an uncaged bird over the awe-inspiring scenery below that I realize no matter what thrill-seeking adventures and exploits I tackle in the future, or what death-defying stunts I’ve survived in the past, nothing compares to the absolute rightness I feel when I’m with Lyra. The pi to my circle of happiness.

WOW!!!! That’s truly the only word that comes to mind after reading Exp1re by Erin Noelle.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this book, but what Erin gave us is out of this world!!! This is an unique and captivating story. It sent chills down my back throughout most of the story. For many different reasons, but I can’t explain any of them. I don’t want to spoil this book for any readers.

This story was unlike anything I have read before. The storyline was gripping and held my attention all the way through. This book is NOT a standalone novel. It is the first book in this duet and does have a cliffhanger ending. So if you aren’t a fan of cliffhangers I would wait for the second book to come out. Because goodness knows I am dying for the second book. I can’t wait to see where she takes this story and these characters. But trust me you WILL want to read this duet!!

I truly could ramble on and on about how great this book is, but I am afraid I am going to slip something and ruin the book. So this review is going to be on the short side. Just know this, this book will take you by surprise when you read it….no one can predict what will happen.

As I said the storyline is phenomenal, but so were the characters we got to meet in this book. This story really focuses on Lyra and Tavian. There are some other people in this story but they are truly in the background. I will say that this book touched on one of my hard limits in books, but because the story and characters were so great I was able to overlook it and it didn’t diminish my enjoyment of the book.

I truly don’t think I have the correct words to do this book justice…just READ THIS BOOK!!! you won’t be sorry.

This. Freaking. Book.
Erin Noelle has managed to create a story so creative and original, unlike any plot I've ever seen before. The premise is intriguing to say the least, but from the very first scene, the reader is captivated and hooked. The beginning has you feeling compassion for this sweet young character that is forced to grieve the loss of her parents. The character development is spot on from the first words and you are instantly attached to Lyra. Soon after, the story jumps to one of the most exciting scenes I have ever read. A heart pounding and quite scary page turner leaves you craving what's to come next. This (airport) scene will go down as one of my all time favorites for two characters first meeting in a romance novel. I loved every word.
From that point on, the relationship formed between Lyra and Tavian was beautiful. Perfectly paced with bits of humor and banter... I felt like I knew them.
This book was nothing short of amazing. I loved the plot twist at the end and the cliffhanger left me eager and hungry for more. Come on, Etern1ty!!!

Exp1re is the first book in the ‘Exp1re Duet’ and introduces the reader to Lyra who didn’t have an easy life. Meeting Tavian at the absolute worst time is the beginning of a friendship, that slowly transforms into something much more. I need the next part of the Duet, Etern1ty now!
“Why?” I whisper. “Why me?” “Because, buttercup.” He smiles, his eyes sad, and kisses the tip of my nose. “We aren’t an accidental meeting of souls. Trust the timing of your life.”

After the death of her parents, Lyra has closed herself off for other people. She lives a solitary life, and stays away from other people. When she meets Tavian, Lyra knows he’s like other people, but after their ordeal she feels a bond with him she can’t ignore. Tavian is traveling to find himself, and Lyra is unsuspected but very welcome traveling companion. Lyra and Tavian aren’t looking for love, but both can’t deny their growing feelings.
"Last night, kissing her for the first time… it confirmed everything I thought to be true. She’s it. My one. The variable I never knew was missing."

Just like other books by this author, I love the writing style. From beginning to end, you’re glued to the pages and you need to know what will happen next. Exp1re is told from Lyra and Tavian’s POV, but most of the time it’s through Lyra’s eyes. The prologue is painful to read, but it’s necessary to understand Lyra and her decisions.

Oh Lyra, I feel so sorry for her. She’s carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, and I understand her need to keep a distance to other people. Knowing what she knows hurts. Tavian is a bit of a lost soul himself, and I love him and Lyra together. Since this is the first part of a duet, Exp1re ends with a cliffhanger. I need Etern1ty as soon as possible, I want to know what will happen with Lyra and Tavian.
“I stand here staring for a minute or two at the empty space where he just was, hoping that’s not the last time I’ll see the man who owns my heart. Unfortunately, we’re working against one thing I can do nothing to stop—time.”

I love Tavian and Lyra, I give the first part of the ‘Exp1re Duet’ 4 stars.

“I’m ready to ‘surrender to what is’ and ‘let go of what was’—the first two steps in my newly adopted life motto. Or at least that’s what I keep reminding myself. Hopefully after I conquer those, I’ll figure out how to ‘trust in what will be.”

This book and lines like these had my heart in knots. I am not sure how to put into words or process all my feelings. The storyline is creative and unique. The characters are relatable and wonderful. Erin takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the entire book. Just when you think you have things figured out, you realize you know nothing. I’m still in shock by the twists I wasn’t expecting. I had to reread moment to be sure I was understanding the gravity of what I just read. Not to mention some of the impactful narrative the characters have like:

“Life is measured in width and depth, rather than length, Lyra. We can’t control how long we’re here, but we sure as hell can decide what we do with the time we’re given.”

My only complaint is my kindle said I was at 91% but I turned the page and it was over. I feel like I have suffered a loss! I’m not ready for it to be done. I want more, I NEED more! This was my first book by Erin I have had the privilege of reading. I am now forever a fan!

Wow. Wow. Wow.
This book came of out left field and has me all discombobulated and I love it. But I reserve the right to change my mind, pending the outcome of book 2...I need to know that the numbers can change! I need that more than I need my next piece of chocolate. And if you know me, that's saying something.
Guh, what can I say about these characters and this book??? Whatever it is won't be much because I don't want to spoil anything. But what I will say is this...I love these 2 characters.
He's this great big ball of sunshine whose presence you just want to bask in. He's living his life balls to the walls. She's closed herself off from getting close to anyone. They couldn't be more opposite. But that's what makes things so beautiful.
I really loved this book. Right from the start I was captivated, but I had no idea how it would make me feel. This story was so original and intriguing and just completely engaging. Reading this book was like being wrapped up in a cozy blanket. It's full of joy and life and hope and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Noelle has in store for their Etern1ty.

Not a proper review because yeah well, I DNF'ed, half into the book. LOL. I hated both characters with a passion. Both are T R A S H. The Hero has a freaking girlfriend back home but is all touchy with the heroine. And the heroine's aware of that but doesn't seem to give a shit about it.

Like I said, T R A S H, BOTH OF THEM.

***** 5 "I'm all Yours" Stars *****

eye

The most intimate thing in the world is looking into someone's eye. You can truly understand them and see the emotions they are feeling.

But what if you look into a stranger's eyes and see a six digit number.

Lyra has this unique ability and until she was 10 years old never really understood what it all meant until tragedy struck and she is comes to the horrible realization that those 6 numbers are the day each person is going to die. There is nothing she can do to stop these dates from happening.

Never knowing how to deal with these numbers, avoiding eye contact and life in general was the easiest thing for her to do. She was never really living life but just existing in a world where anyone she got close to will leave her and she would always know their demise.

Then one day on a job assignment as a travel magazine photographer, Zoe runs into a future she never saw coming. A future that will lead her on a path of pure joy and actually living life to it's fullest and not worrying about something she can not change!

Erin Noelle....LOVE LOVE LOVE!!
