When their flight is delayed for a full day, Micah and Forest meet unexpectedly in Munich. They share a lovely day exploring the city, but both know it's only for a day. They live on opposite sides of the country, and their lives couldn't be more different. Is the connection they shared during their layover enough to make this one-time thing into a forever-romance?

Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?
The short? You got it.
I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.
How was that?
A little more detail? Gotcha.
I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.
My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.
Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

3.5 stars rounded up. I saw the title and immediately thought of The Layover by Roe Horvat, but other than the title, this one has nothing in common with Roe's story.
Micah meets Forest in the departure hall of Munich's airport where they're both laid up overnight by an aircraft problem. Forest offers to show Micah around Munich, and a connection is formed. Micah lives in the Big Apple with his mum and Forest lives in Oregon with his mum, two dads and several siblings. Will the distance stop them getting together back home?? HEA guaranteed....
The title caught my attention (Horvat!) but this is nothing close to that favorite story of mine. Maybe I had higher expectations but I didn't completely buy their swift romance. Interesting characters. Fun day trip in Munich. But in the end, I needed more.
What a sweet sexy short read. Perfect for when you don’t have a lot of time but want to read something good. Micah and Forest are such sweethearts. I loved what Forest did and he did it in the best way. Even though they both learned about themselves, Micah really impressed me.
I love how Nora Phoenix tells her stories. This sweet one is no different. Micah and Forest meet at a layover but their connection builds over time so even if it was a little on the fast side initially, it was understandable. By getting to know each other they realized how important they are in each other's lives. I loved how they got their Hea.❤️
Fun and lighthearted, with an extremely fast romance thrown in, this free short story is a mix of travelogue and personal adventure. Caused by an extremely annoying flight delay, this layover in a strange city turns from a nightmare for quality engineer Micah into a very pleasurable exploration of lots of new experiences with travel writer Forest. From their initial meeting at the airport to some wonderful scenes in Munich, and from their first careful physical explorations to a passionate romance, both men are eager to learn about each other and turn out to be very compatible.
There aren’t any major obstacles in these guys’ path, but there is some exploration of their pasts and why neither of them is in a relationship when they meet. Their family histories are explored a little, again, just enough to make them feel “real” – and actually more than I have seen in some stories as short as this one. I liked knowing a little more about the men before they jumped into bed together.
If you like your stories short and sweet, this one might be for you.
Having a flight delay while on Business in Munich is a hastle. Then a fellow traveller offers advice on what to do and will help him along after he asks for help. They have a lovely day exploring the city at food markets and parks and then go back to the hotel together. This MM love story is worth reading.
I love books by Nora phoenix and this proves why. For such a short book you get all the feels and heat of a long book. I loved Forest and Micah, they were made for each other.
It took me about 2 hours to read and I loved every single minute. This is a book I know I will return to again and again. 5 ✨ from me.
This is a short, super sweet (with a bit of spice mixed in) story... you can't help but fall in love with Micah and Forrest, although this is a short story , it didn't feel lacking in any way (it was spread throughout a 2-3 month period). The 1 year later epilogue summed up this story so nicely with the sweetest HEA I could of asked for 🥰 Nora Phoenix never disappoints
Really cute short story with characters you want to root for. Even with this being a short story there is still a good bit of character development. You really come to appreciate Micah’s struggles and cheer for him to overcome and get his HEA.
This was a super sweet short story about two men who are stuck in Munich when their flight was delayed. Take one thrill sneaking adventurous man and introduce him to a shy stay at home type who doesn’t deal well with change and see what happens!
I really enjoyed this opposites attract story. Micah and Forest were good together and I found myself rooting for their happily ever after. I also liked the gentle way Micah's issues were handled.
A lot of editing errors in the beginning had me almost DNF this, but I decided to push through. Overall it was just ok, though it did get better as it went on.
Such a beautiful short story. Really enjoyed their adventures in Munich and how things went at home. Adorable and I only wish it were longer. I absolutely love the adventure and characters! Really sweet and my only complaint is I want more lol.
