From Book 1: Sparing his life and offering him a deal was a mistake. Marrying him to get back at his father was an even bigger one.

Now he’s getting under my skin and making me feel things I never thought I’d be able to feel.

But falling for the son of the man who brutally murdered my whole family right in front of my eyes isn’t my only problem. My enemies are coming for me, and the only one who might know how to defeat them once and for all is my husband.

I just don’t know if I can trust him with my life… or my heart.

This is the first installment in the three-book The Mafia Proposal series. It may contain violence, strong language, sexual content, and a cliffhanger.

This was a pretty good read that I liked. Arianna gets revenge on the mob boss who killed her family she forces his youngest son to marry her and take her family name. She is strong and tough after all she is a female mob boss. James agrees to marry her to protect his mother and sisters. He is not as ruthless as his father. Arianna is attracted to James but she doesn't want to get too close her enemies. This was a good read but at times Arianna was soft when I thought she should have been hard. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Talia Ellison has some juvenile fantasies, and bloodthirsty ones at that. In this quasi-Romeo and Juliet story, Arianna is the last surviving member of the Monti family, who was wiped out by their biggest rival, the Ezzatis. Now Arianna has wiped out most of the Ezzatis, except Jason, the son of the man who killed her parents. She takes his sisters and mother hostage, and offers him a deal - marry her and change his name, wiping out the Ezzati name forever.

Ellison comes up with the most contrived and simplistic situations for her characters. This one was a tad bloodier than the previous two I read, and she keeps waffling with her characters, trying to make them badass but still hoping to win the sympathy of her readers. The result is just a lot of eye-rolling corny dialogue and laughably unbelievable (even within her fantasy world) situations. And again she goes BDSM-very-lite with the sex - why she even tries to go there I don't know, but all she can do is dip a pinky toe in and then back out. At least in 50 Shades of Grey they went big and bold. (And for the record, 50 Shades was so much better than this, and that tells you how bad this is.) I think I've had enough of the mafia tag for this challenge, at least for a little while. For sure I've had enough of this author.

Finally a mafia book with a female badass! Perhaps I’ve just read the wrong books, but this is the first mafia book I’ve read where a woman actually has power! So kudos for that!

While I truly enjoyed this book, it has its flaws. The one that stood out to me the most, was that certain scenarios were kind of just thrown into your face without any obvious reason. It made a little sense later on, but the scenario could still have been built up better rather than just thrown in without anything before or after.

(SPOILER ALERT!)
The moment in particular I’m thinking of, is when Brent tries to ‘force’ himself of Arianna. It didn’t have a lead up and didn’t make sense at the time. It did later on, but the moment seemed so abrupt and out of place that Brent’s only purpose seemed to be to complicate Ariannas life.
(END OF SPOILERS!)

Another flaw, is that the book felt kind of rushed in certain places, and a lot was left unexplored, in my opinion.

Still, I found the book entertaining and enjoyable, and I liked Arianna and James very much!

I’m looking forward to the next book!

I was so excited to read this book since it was a power exchange of sorts. We got a badass heroine who marries her Enemies son for revenge.. I was like hell yeah we mostly see the males marry for convenience/revenge..but as much as their were strong suspenseful moments this book fell flat for me..the storyline was a bit confusing and I hardly felt chemistry between the Hero and heroine aside from sexual, the ending was a Cliff hanger but TBH it wasn't as exciting to even contemplate reading book 2. .I read this weeks ago and forgot to leave a review..

This is interesting… Basically imagine the usual mafia set up but the girl is the dominant mafia boss and the guy is just there following her around (even in the bedroom). He’s not weak and can do everything but I think if this was dual POV, it would’ve been better.

"The Deal" was your typical mafia romance that was filled oozing sexual tension, action and lots of deaths yet despite that, it was mediocre read. The plot was pretty much heading in the direction I've anticipated which made it lackluster, the mole situation was pretty obvious and the characters were just boring and lacked the real oomph to really draw me in. Sadly due to all those factors, I've decided to not continue on with the rest of the series.

A mafia love story with a mafia boss lady.

I love Arianna is the boss of a crime family. It is nice to see a woman in n charge for a change. She gets revenge on the mob boss who killed her family. She forces his youngest son to marry her and take her family name. She is strong and tough. James agrees to marry her to protect his mother and sisters. He is not as ruthless as his father. Arianna is attracted to James. She also must fight enemies who wish to take everything from her. I give it four stars because Arianna is not always as ruthless as someone in her position should be.

Female mafia boss and the son of her enemy

What will happen when a female mafia boss spares the life of her enemy’s son and offers him a deal, where he becomes her husband, taking her name?
How will her enemies react? And her trusted men, including her second in command? And what, if anything, will develop between Arianna and her new husband? This is the first part of their story,, with many twists and turns.

I have a feeling that this story does not really warrant three books. I am getting really sick of these authors writing novellas as selling them as books.

I was not sure If I was reading a mafia book or a story about Lara Croft and Indiana Jones.

I was looking forward to a bad ass female lead and what I got was a caricature. I hate when authors feel that for a woman to be a badass, she has to encompass the worse characteristics of a male character. Sigh 😔

Love or vengeance?

Arianna Monti swore vengeance for her family when they were slaughtered in front of her as a child. Now she has the son of the mafia boss who ordered it as a pet but he stirs feelings she has never felt before. She can use him, love him, or kill him…

It is well-written and has some good steamy scenes. Overall, it is a pretty good read. The plot is interesting but implausible, and it ends in a giant cliffhanger which I never like.

I love the fact that this book had the roles reversed and the FMC was the one in charge. You don't come across many books like this in this particular subgenre. This was an action-packed story, with just enough angst and steam to pull me in. The author did a great job of setting up the storyline and the characters' respective arcs, so you end up enjoying the romance while still unsure of which characters can be trusted. Definitely intrigued to read the next book in the series!

The writing was good, the fast-paced environment throughout the story was great.
There should have been a bit of more depth into the story. Attachment to the characters won't form though it's quite interesting.
Looking forward to the next book . Maybe i might get to know why this 1st book is not written in so much depth .

Though interesting its twisted a bit . But i would have preferred Arianna or James getting a bit shot or something which generally happens between the same level of mafias.

Personally, I think it would’ve been better if it wasn’t advertised as a romance book. There was very little romance, 2 tiny spice scenes, low tension, etc.
I liked both characters and really appreciated the role reversal. But yeah, if it was advertised as a regular thriller/crime book with a splash of romance then I would’ve enjoyed it more.
I know this is part one of three and maybe there’s more romance in the following books, but it wasn’t good enough for me to read the other ones

Slow

I thought that this book was something else from the description is sounded juicy but it wasn't possible beyond anything. The was a little bit of reverse domination going on where she was the one that punished him and I didn't liken that. Then there was the whole mole thing I guessed it from the get go it was just... I country away with this book.

The Deal (Mafia Proposal Book 1)

Wow This book has had me on tenterhooks all the way through. I can’t wait to read the Second Book. I have not read a book by this author before but I will certainly be reading more. A really enjoyable read.

This was a pretty good read, however I think the way to book ended was too much of a tease. I like the way she got her revenge on who came across her path. I just feel this wasn’t a stand alone book

Thrilling story

Arianna survives after watching her parents and siblings murdered mercilessly. She seeks revenge for her family's deaths. James, the son of her family's murderer and her are attracted each other.

Not bad

This wasn’t horrible. I’ve just read so many mafia books that were so much better and hard to live up to that this one just fell a wee bit short for me. The story wasn’t horrible by any means I just felt like it could be more. But I will continue the series.

Couldn’t finish. I like alpha males. This had a woman who was super in charge, a totally implausible contract, and a decent guy. I gave it a chance, but the woman ran me off.
