I cannot believe I took so long to read this book. I let so many other books jump in there, when this book was one I really needed to read. The first half of the book was pretty basic, at least for me, as things I already knew. Then it went more in depth with vices, of which I seem to still carry many around on my back.
This was a great wake up call and finishing the second half of this book was great timing. I am so excited to start the second volume, "Called Out of Darkness: Contending With Evil Through the Church, Virtue, and Prayer." It sounds absolutely fantastic.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants more in depth analysis of this struggle we all have with combating the darkness within ourselves, our world etc. Really see what the deadly sins are and how you may not even be aware of how deadly they are and how easily we pick them up.

First book of Fr Spitzer’s and now I want to read all his books. By the title you’d think this one would be very deep into the demonic but even this hefty content he makes it approachable and not scary if you take God’s hands and squeeze them tightly.
