Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.
Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO-ナルト-), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.
I can’t believe what I’m reading right now. This is insane. I mean, OP battle aside, seeing just how crazy Naruto is going, it should be par for — but, damn.
Despite many negative comments I've seen on the Internet, I actually enjoyed this volume a lot. The highlight of this volume was Naruto's new chakra mode and the fact that the chapter is titled "Sacrifice." We all know now that Naruto is going to die/disappear from the beginning of Boruto. We just don't know what is going to happen and many people thought that this is where Naruto is going to die. I still don't think Naruto and Sasuke can be killed but we'll see what happens in the future.
The fight Isshiki comes to an end thanks to Naruto and his new Baryon Mode. We say farewell to a character we all loved and cared. The ending was actually great and I'm loving the relationship between Boruto and Kawaki. I'm curious to see what's going to happen next and now that Kishimoto is the main writer (I think), things might change.
Read this today before work. Another great volume, really like the direction the story is going in, and wish people would give the series a try instead of always comparing it to Naruto. There’s a lot of cool ideas and heart in this series that people are missing out on.
As usual each star goes for the original Naruto characters... Can't seem to get attached to the kids, and I still dislike this modern Hidden Leaf Village: too much technology, it's like the ninja world doesn't even exist anymore.
My reading of the original Naruto really made me realize how shitty this is. It honestly doesn't compare. Probably gonna stop here, this is a mess.
And Kurama is FREAKING dead??? How dare you. How DARE YOU.

- Naruto goes into Baryon Mode. The mode is same like nuclear fusion where Naruto's energy and Kurama's energy collide to form a new type of energy. Naruto is beating Isshiki. The Baryon Mode's drawback is great. It is a race about who's lifespan runs out first. Every attacks that hit Isshiki will reduce his lifespan. From 2-3 days, Isshiki's lifespan now reduced to about 10 minutes.
- Boruto falls unconscious. Isshiki used Naruto's chakra that link to Kawaki's hand to transport Kawaki into the battlefield. Isshiki only have 5 minutes left. Kawaki run away to buy some time. Naruto and Sasuke getting beaten in order to let Kawaki runs.
- Isshiki threat to kill Naruto if Kawaki doesn't come out. Finally, Kawaki comes out. Isshiki implanted a Karma in Kawaki's body. Isshiki's body slowly crumbled to ashes as he have reach his limit. Karma on Kawaki's body disappear. Real Kawaki appears from hiding. Isshiki only implanted his Karma in Kawaki's Kage Bunshin. Isshiki died without having Karma implanted to any vessel.
- Boruto is possessed by Momoshiki. He stabbed Sasuke's Rinnegan with kunai. Momoshiki fights with Kawaki and Sasuke. According to Momoshiki, Karma that have been extracted remain in Kawaki's body. Kawaki already 80% become Ohtsutsuki. He will used Kawaki to be fed to Juubi.
- Momoshiki don't absorb ninjutsu as he worried that Boruto will wake up. Kawaki burned himself. Momoshiki had no choice but to absorb the fire. Boruto wakes up and regain his body back.
- Naruto falls unconscious. Naruto had a conversation with Kurama. Baryon Mode cost Kurama's life not Naruto's. Kurama then disappear. Boruto used his Karma to get them back to Konoha.
- Isshiki's soul appear in front of Code who is guarding the Juubi. Code have a pure weapon, White Karma. He is supposed to be Isshiki's vessel but he is a failure. Isshiki passed Ohtsutsuki's will to Code. He will feed Boruto and Kawaki to the Juubi and cultivated the chakra fruit. He will bear all the information of life. Then, he will go to other planets and do the same until he achieved a god state.
Summary of volume 14: Naruto overwhelms Isshiki using Baryon Mode and Kurama explains that it will continue to fuse their chakra until one of them dies, but that by linking with Isshiki's chakra it will affect him as well. The technique dramatically shortens Isshiki's lifespan, but he gains the upper hand and realizes that he can sense Kawaki through Naruto's prosthetic arm, opening a portal and dragging him to the battlefield. Sasuke helps Kawaki escape and hide, but when Isshiki tortures and threatens to kill Naruto he decides to reveal himself. Isshiki then attempts to etch a new Karma on Kawaki only for the mark to disappear moments later; as Isshiki's body crumbles, Kawaki reveals that he tricked him using a Shadow Doppelganger and stomps on his remains, killing him. In the aftermath, Momoshiki suddenly takes control of Boruto's body and attacks, destroying Sasuke's Rinnegan. Kawaki and Sasuke struggle to fight back as Momoshiki reveals his plan to kidnap Kawaki and steal Isshiki's Ten Tails. However, Boruto manages to regain control when Kawaki forces Momoshiki to absorb chakra. After the battle Kurama bids farewell to Naruto and vanishes, with the last of his chakra having been consumed by Baryon Mode. Boruto and Kawaki affirm their brotherly bond and Boruto uses his Karma to return the battered group to Konoha. In Kara's dimension Code is revealed to bear a unique White Karma and is visited by Isshiki's fading spirit, which tells him that while he can't be used as a vessel, he can use his Karma to transform into an Otsutsuki and continue the clan's legacy: devour worlds and evolve until attaining godhood. Code activates his Karma and vows to avenge Isshiki. Later on Code starts looking for a woman named Eida.
So far, there are five arcs in the manga:
Versus Momoshiki Arc Mujina Bandits Arc Ao Arc Kawaki Arc Post-Kawaki Arc
The Kawaki one being my favorite. FYI there is 19 arcs currently in the anime with episode 128 being were the anime starts to cover the manga again.

Killing Naruto would have been harsh to endure but I wasn't quite prepared to see this outcome. I never thought from the beginning of Naruto that one day Kurama and him would be able to be separated without killing Naruto in the process. I have to say that killing the 9 tails is making me frustrated. He was the fiercest bijuu and one of the most complex character of the manga. Need to see what's coming next.
Vol 14 is the first volume where Kishimoto is back playing a direct role on the story and it happens to be one where he introduces a new ability for Naruto while also give us a chance to see how far Naruto and his relationship with Kurama developed. While I wont spoil that, it was very bittersweet to see.
Additionally, Momoshiki makes yet another appearance while also allow Boruto to display some fast acting. The only thing I would ding the volume for is the lack of any lingering guilt Boruto has over what transpires in this volume. While one can say it was because he wasn't in control of himself, I would think a normal reaction would be to still feel guilty since he was powerless to keep Momoshiki at bay.
The VIP is Kawaki of course, who used the limited ninjutsu he had to hold Isshiki back, while running too.
The scenes he had of the care and love he received from Naruto were great.
I am continuing this manga series almost after 3 years and my god it is even better with where I left off, with Naruto using the Baryon mode and the battle with Isshiki is epic, the fight scenes are not compromised and I love the resolution but the heavy cost of it, how Sasuke and Kawaki are involved, the re-emergence of Momoshiki and like how will they defeat him and save Boruto? Heavy costs, insane, epic action scenes. Surprising reveals and I also like the mythological components they are adding here and we are left with an interesting status quo that will change the universe in some interesting ways and I can't wait to find out what happens next!!
Even on vol 14, and vol 90+ overall this series gets better everytime!
It’s been more than a year since I last read Boruto. The last volume I read was the thirteenth volume. Now that I’m back reading this series, I just wanted to say that I miss the characters so much.
Volume 14 is the ultimate installment for the Kawaki Arc and I really liked it! Teamwork at its best! Can’t wait to read the succeeding volumes, knowing how much hype was built for the next antagonist—Code!
Think this was just a story to depower the powerhouses. I mean we can't have them coming in to save the day all the time. But that is a good thing. The next generation needs to take over and stand in their own.
Lo único bueno fue la forma en que esta dibujo. No me gusto lo que le hizo Boruto a Sasuke. Me aburrí muchísimo. Y el personaje de Kawaki no me gusta nada 👎. Del personaje malo Isshiki Ohtsutsuki e so de entrar al cuerpo de Boruto lo hace más estupido. 1/5⭐️
Hair raising battle between Naruto and Ishiki. Naruto stalling for time using a new ability that would end him and Kurama, or so he thouht. Boruto overtaken by Momoshiki. Sasuke injured. Appearance of new enemy: Code.
I watched the anime up to this point and I cried watching Karuma disappear. The manga didn’t seem as impactful, but tragic none the less. Bayron mode is badass but suicidal. Naruto will never be the same. Very intrigued to see where this story goes

Insane battle but I just did not like the turn of things. Nerfing Sasuke and Naruto?! I understand why (because the next generation has to be stronger) but I feel like it could’ve been written a totally different way. Either way, this volume was insanely good.
This series has been quite good right from the start. I am liking the new generation of characters, the older characters, the new baddies, the back-and-forth as some characters' motivations remain questionable... but also and especially Naruto forever being Naruto.
i am absolutely not prepared to see my fav characters get nerfed so bad, I get the series is about boruto but the og shippuden characters hold a special place damn it
This manga was created as a preview test screen so the animation team can fix the things that fans did not like and release the "better "version in the anime
