While it doesn't live up to its promise of showing how 1919 is the year that changed America, it was informative and a fun read. The author picked humorous and interesting examples. However, many came from outside of 1919.
The book has a very obvious slant toward progressive views. This is most apparent when the author talks about current times. I don't say that as a bad thing, but something to consider before reading.
If I were a teacher, I'd assign sections from the book for the kids to get an interesting history lesson, but also to identify the author's slant and how it affects his reporting on history....more

I enjoyed this book. It inspired me to want to exercise the creative parts of my mind, but it is targeted at people who want to go big with their art I enjoyed this book. There were some really good one-liners in it. My favorite was "Impatience is just an argument against reality." That is a line that I will need to apply throughout my life and not just to wanting a project to get done quicker.
I did this book on audiobook and I think I should read it in print in the future to take it in slower. The narrator appeared to have the same idea for the audiobook and reads incredible slowly. However, he has a really deep voice, so speeding it up makes it basically normal speed and a pitch we hear more often....more
