First 3rd book of the series, 3rd 5-star rating; I don't know what it is about these books, but I EAT THEM UP for breakfast, lunch, and dinner... WOW.
First off, it's a sports college romance, so automatic win on my end... but the way that I adore the main characters is what makes this book an even better read. We have Dean, who I fell in love with already in the first book with his few character appearances, but he is all about embracing his playboy hockey player status, and he shows it REAL FAST. Meanwhile, we have Allie, who is a drama major that all she knows is how to be in a relationship... talk about polar opposites LOL.
Anyway, I don't want to give away anything juicy from this book, but the way they engage with each other and develop throughout the book had me steaming and giggling and all of the above AGHHHH. I recommend this series so much; you don't really have to read it in order, but each book is like after the other timeline-wise.
Lastly, I think one of the best aspects of this book is how open-minded it is about sensual topics. I think society taboos a ton of the conversations that were had here, and I'm all about communication, so I loved seeing it in the book!!!! --- so aka read this book.

1. My mind went immediately to my younger reader self in my room reading Divergent + Hunger games because literally SAME VIBES. AGH. 2. I have read more.. and I love me a good bad boi and Aaron Warner is it. 3. The writing style is so unique is like a first POV but at the same time diary style. 4. Every page you read is like another secret that you need to discover, I love when a book does that and probably why I am on my way to grab the second one this week. 5. I love me a FMC who's strong and I know she will be hella strong....more

Honestly, I loved this book even more than Magnolia, although I did scream at it about a thousand times. Who's to say which one is better? They both brought that book-induced anxiety and the dramatic elements we simultaneously love and dislike. Gotta admit, though, I'm a sucker for a gang lord romance, and having Daisy, Christian, and Julian all providing their perspectives made this book stand out for me. Plus, Daisy's mind is, well, a bit calmer than Magnolia's—LMAO, if you know what I mean.
If you're into Gossip Girl, you're going to adore this, I swear. Someone asked me if this is spicy, and to be honest, it's like a medium spice. You know what's going on, but it's not explicitly visual, if you catch my drift. Well, cheers! I'm about to dive into the third book soon. ...more

It had it all: excellent world-building, compelling characters, a gripping plot, witty banter, romantic elements, and sizzling scenes.
What truly sets this book apart is its authenticity. Nowadays, many stories attempt to create characters that seem flawless, making a mistake here and there before reaching a predictable happily ever after. Melissa, however, excels at portraying the imperfections of her characters. She brilliantly showcases that they can grapple with mental health issues, impulsiveness, and the consequences of their actions. The way the female main character's mental health journey unfolds throughout the book feels incredibly genuine.
And let's not forget our morally ambiguous male main character, a fascinating character who craves control but can't seem to master the one thing that should be the 'easiest' to control. Their enemies-with-benefits dynamic adds an extra layer of complexity that's pure delight, especially for fans of the enemies-to-lovers trope.
In the world of Devram, it's not just about the main characters. The world is vast, filled with its own set of profound issues that the Heir of Endings must grapple with. As the story unfolds, you can feel the mounting frustration and see the stark imperfections of this realm, where decrees often mean little in the grand scheme of things.

The first book was amazing, but this one was ... INSANELY GOOD. "The Right Move" is about Indy (whom you met in the first book) having to move in with Ryan freaking Shay due to her current situation—aka forced proximity aka roomies. The dynamic that these two create had me giggling the entire book. Not to mention their banter and their seamless conversations between the two had me convinced that they were besties until... Ryan encounters a situation, and they need to fake date—one of MY FAV TROPES!!!! Anyway, once again Liz goes into this book and brings us serious topics that elevate this sports romance into a more realistic spectrum, making you have your emotions OPEN AND RAW because that's how I WAS! Topics include post-breakup, "am I enough," impressing everyone around you, and anxiety!

Okay, Silver Flames is again one of my favs right up there with A Court of Mist and Fury. I can't believe I forgot how traumatized Nesta was and how freaking amazing she grew throughout the entire book, becoming not only stronger but embracing her true self! The way everyone basically gave up on her, yet also didn't, by supporting and helping her. Her journey to making new friends, finding a new family, becoming a warrior, and reconnecting with her sisters, all while starting to accept love again, especially with Cassian. ...more
