very interesting read. the writing was fluid and easy to consume, making me stick to the book even at times when i was physically too tired to read. tvery interesting read. the writing was fluid and easy to consume, making me stick to the book even at times when i was physically too tired to read. the characters were great too, with interesting dynamics and personalities. i enjoyed this book and i think i'll read more of donohue in the future.

i'm a little torn about this book. on one hand i understand the artistic choices, and i agree with them. but on the other, i feel as though there was i'm a little torn about this book. on one hand i understand the artistic choices, and i agree with them. but on the other, i feel as though there was something missing in the writing. the change of narrative made it a bit difficult to follow. i felt like it got too much at times. and i feel as though the story told and the history of late 20th century peru deserve to be fleshed out more, which would slow down the pace and made it easier to consume. however, it's an important topic to explore and despite it all, i'm glad that i stuck to it and learned a little more about history that i was previously unfamiliar with.

i'm very torn about this book. i liked the fast pacing of the romance plot-line, i loved the characters, the world-building was decent, but part of iti'm very torn about this book. i liked the fast pacing of the romance plot-line, i loved the characters, the world-building was decent, but part of it was the slang the characters used which i personally grew a little tired of as it continuously interrupted my reading flow. i struggled not to dnf it. i think someone else will love this book exactly as it is, and it simply wasn't for me at this point in time.

pretty decent read. i appreciated that the author did it with permission from the family and wasn't only trying to capitalize off of the story. i wasn'pretty decent read. i appreciated that the author did it with permission from the family and wasn't only trying to capitalize off of the story. i wasn't familiar with the lauren spierer case before reading the book which is why i feel as though i can say that it does a great job at establishing what happened the night she went missing, as well as keeping the theorizing separate from the facts. i feel for lauren's family and i really hope that she will be found and that they will be able to learn what happened to her.
