Mia is on an emotional journey. She receives her mother's journal on the night she graduates high school and so begins a scavenger hunt left by her famous country music star mom, Tori Rose, before she died. This book was filled with so much emotion. I felt for Mia, craving to know her mother and ultimately wanting to find herself as well.
I loved watching her unravel the clues, finding the lost pieces of her mother, discovering the people that loved her and that loved her in return and coming to terms with her decisions. Through her journey she not only learns about her mother but about herself as well and gains the confidence she needs to chase her own happiness.
This was a solid debut and I'm excited to see what is to come from this author in the future. ...more

This book focuses on Flora Maxwell (Orion’s sister from book 1) and how she deals with grief over the death of her mother. Flora is the kind of character that you can’t help but feel for. She was so lost, feeling directionless and unmoored. In a fit of emotion, she runs away from England to Miami to stay with Lila’s family, the Reyes’.
I adored the characters in this book and how Namey made Miami come to life - the sights, the food, the social scene, etc. How Flora found herself and came to terms with everything she has gone through was so human, messy and endearing.
This was a wonderful heart-wrenching YA story of grief, healing, hope and love. ...more
This was ok. Felt a bit meh about it. Did this on audio & the scratch out sounds were soooo damn annoying - why?? Whose idea was that? So unnecessary! This was ok. Felt a bit meh about it. Adam though - he is a Bae! Warner is such a perfect villain. I know people are obsessed with him and that the series gets better (so y’all say) so I’ll read on but I’m not necessarily rushing to do it. ...more

A perfect, unofficially kicking off summer read (or in my case listen - thank you PRH audio!).
Garland is divorced, living with her sister and biding her time until her ex wants her back. The two decide to attend a week long adults only camp, an opportunity they never had but wanted as kids. I only attended sleep away camp once in my life but those memories have stayed with me always. I loved the idea of chasing that childhood nostalgia, with some adult twists.
This was a sweet, fun, insta-love romance. I enjoyed the characters, the camp setting and was all for Garland finding herself and coming into her own after her divorce. ...more
3.5 - I’m feeling a bit torn. I wanted to love this more. Elle typically delivers on romance for me but this felt like less of a romance and more like3.5 - I’m feeling a bit torn. I wanted to love this more. Elle typically delivers on romance for me but this felt like less of a romance and more like a teen mystery, drama. I didn’t hate the unfolding of what really happened to Casey but it seemed to take over the book and the romance definitely took a backseat for me. I did still enjoy this (definitely enough to continue following it on) but not as much as I’ve enjoyed books in the Off Campus series or even book 1 of this series, Misfit.
Lawson though - he’s a scene stealer for me. I NEED more of his story bc there is a lot going on under the surface there. ...more
