THE WILD: Is a dark, taboo standalone novel by K. Webster..
I remember reading this back when it was first released, (2017) and all those icks and ewws which came along with it, my comfort zone was definitely pushed, which is what I loved the most about this one. I went out of my safe zone into forbidden territory.
THE WILD: When they lost their twin boy at the age of ten things slowly started to crumble down around them, their daughter was left without her twin brother and his wife was slipping deeper and deeper into a depression he couldn’t bring her out of. He had to be the glue that kept the family together but no matter how hard he tried that glue sometimes just wasn’t strong enough to hold them. Six years on and the past is still dragging them down, especially for his wife who can’t shake the dark cloud of depression hanging over her.
Liquidating a multimillion dollar company he takes the family away from the stresses that still had it’s hooks in them and moved them off the grid, no civilisation for miles, a life like the Alaskan Bush People. The area was unpopulated, no people for hundreds of miles. Secluded as all fuck.
Leave your inhibitions, your morals everything at the door before you one click this, it takes you on a forbidden, taboo, unconceivable journey. This will push you so out of your comfort zones, as your stomach is curling with the forbidden aspect of this story you'll also be getting hot under the collar. No other author has gone to where K. Webster took us!! Nothing will prepare you for this sick ride!! How brave are you?? An unconventional all consuming love story, once you're in, this book kind of grabs you unawares and your hooked from start to finish. I devoured this. Couldn't put it down!!

Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me. Bullshit. Words destroyed me.
Like all previous bloggers reading this before me I inhaled this, my emotions were all over the place 😀 HAPPY, 😞 TO NEARLY CRYING, 😢 TO CRYING, 🙂 TO HAPPINESS WHEN I REACHED THE ENDING, TO THAT BITTERSWEET FEELING THAT THIS HAS COME TO AN END ☹️ I LOVED THIS SERIES ❤️..
This is the kind of outstanding book that you could imagine unfolding in life, it could happen to any one of us, it has happened.
One child stolen to replace one that had died One lady mourning the abduction of her child and living in darkness for ten years only to briefly step into the light again. To be plunged back into the darkness. A roller coaster of epic proportions when told he was dead, only to be told in the next breath hold on a minute he's alive, a custody battles ensues, fighting over a confused, scared boy. The emotional upheaval for all involved. A truly raw, gut wrenching, emotional read.
Out of the darkness and into the light
I'm always chasing those books where the author can bring out all those feels that I wouldn't necessarily feel in life and this author delivered them all on a bitter sweet silver platter. I was all over the place reading this, normally in life I'm not a crier but this author had me crying more times than I want to admittedly count. At one point in the story I didn't think I could go on, that's when the floodgates opened up and I had to go back and reread what I'd read because it didn't make sense, and I was elated with the outcome and beyond happy that I'd sucked it up, pulled those big girls undies up and carried on PHEW because the other outcome even threw me into darkness. I highly highly recommend this series. I'm sorry for this no frills review but you'll thank me in the end when you take the plunge and one click this come release day.
‘SAVAGE LOCKE’: is the second book in Victoria Ashley’s & Jenika Snow’s ‘Locke Brothers #2’ series. It picks up where the first book left off.
Partying late at night around their bonfire they are alerted to the lights of a vehicle coming down the long drive away, Locke recognises the small car straight away, he hasn’t seen the occupant Wynter for a few years but what has his blood boiling over is the bruising and cut that runs down her face..
➽ I want to hurt whoever the fuck did this to her. I’ll take sure to work them over so much that not even a dental record can identify them.
Someone is going to pay for what he’s done to her. And it’s not going to be pretty..
Winter and Savage have a connection that goes right back to their college days but they never acted on it, once graduation came around Winter took off away from her over bearing control freak of a father but she always thought about that one boy she’d left in a town she’d vowed never to return to.
But escaping out of her abusive ex boyfriend's clutches she goes back to the one boy now a man that will help and protect her, and that is Savage Locke the man all fear.
These Locke brothers may have a lot of faults but when it comes to protecting one of their own and they lay down their lives for a loved one makes you embrace their savage darkness.
By the time we graduated, Sterling had moved onto bigger, more dangerous things, causing the whole town to fear not only him, but all the Locke brother's.
You’ve got to love these Locke brothers, when it comes to protecting ones they love they don’t mind getting down and dirty, out comes the back alley fighting, out come their fighting tools, in Savages case you’ll get very acquainted with his knuckle busters, those things barely leave their victims standing.
I reach in my pocket for my brass knuckles , and get ready to beat some motherfucker’s ass.
Like the greedy bitch I am when it comes to tatted up bad boys I devoured this in a matter of an hour, once I started I couldn’t put it down, it’s a super, hot fast, read. Even though it’s a short novella you still connect with the story and characters, there’s nothing I would change about this book, from the beginning right up till the end I was enjoying my crazy ride with Savage.
HEARTLESS by Michelle Horst is a standalone- full length contemporary romance novel Book #1 in the (Enemies To Lovers Series) ~ In this we meet Carter Hayes and Della Truman.
Della Truman is a good girl with a head on her shoulders, studying a Degree in Graphic Design whilst working at Rameses a local diner slash bar to support herself until she finishes up school in six months time and will head back to Saluda the town she left behind for her sister Jamie who is a lot younger than her.
AND
Meet Carter Hayes he’s part of the #ScrewCrew which consists of five hot guys who think they are gods gift to women. Girls want to screw them and guys want to be them.
The #ScrewCrew Team Marcus, Rhett, twin brothers Jaxson and Logan and Carter.
Marcus and Rhett are the ones with the screw lists, they’re the manwhores responsible for our nickname #ScrewCrew. As for the twins, they aren’t huge on dating. A family made up of misfits but each have the others back. As for Carter all his focus is aimed towards finishing his degree so that once he’s graduated he can work in his fathers firm.
He’s not called heartless for nothing, the nic name is in place for a reason. He’s arrogant, ruthless, he will trample on you and not look back, fuck with him and he’ll fuck you back double. But under all that you see glimpses of a vulnerable guy that will do anything for his friends.
Hot as sin on the outside but cold as ice on the inside
Carter and Della are in their final stages of their last semester of college on their last night of college life they ignite between the sheets never to see each other until many years later.
Carter has taken over his father's firm and Della is stuck back in the town that never let her out of it’s grip waitressing in a diner, taking care of her sister. When Carter walks in the door and their gazes collide it’s as though they had never been apart. Slowly they find the feelings that they had back in college had never left them and like a Knight in shining armor he whisks her away from her gruelling life and gives her a job in his company. A slow burn second chance romance proceeds.
We're from opposite worlds. I should've seen it back then, but I was too in love.
Take away the hot cover, the synopsis, the author and we have my guilty pleasure wrapped up in a shiny bow, I love books like this, enemies to lovers, to more, from rags to riches, a second chance romance and I was in my happy place, a slow burn that scorched the pages.
This threw all the feels at me, the angst, the hate then love relationship I too had for Carter in the beginning but then he slowly redeemed himself and I was hooked by his character. I loved the #ScrewCrew and can not wait to read each of their stories. This surpassed all my expectations, a fairy tale romance that stood the test of time, a love that blossomed and grew even as they were apart and made for a strong foundation once they made their way back to each other again. This author just gets better and better, she can go from dark to light and no matter what she brings us I love wholeheartedly, but this I loved even more because it showed a softer side to her writing abilities.
WHISPERED PRAYERS OF A GIRL is a standalone romance novel by Alex Grayson, in this we meet Alexander and Gwendolyn and is spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ This is a first time read for me by this author.
A tortured soul meets a damaged family...A lonely man, a widowed woman, a carefree boy, and a broken girl.
Gwendolyn was after the simple life that Catalina’s Valley could offer her and her two children, Daniel and Kelsey since moving there three months ago seeking a change in scenery and hoping it will heal them, she teaches at the local elementary school in town where both her children are enrolled.
Her daughter Kelsey suffers from what therapists call selective mutism, she blames herself for her fathers death and hasn't spoken since the day of his funeral.
A chance encounter at the local grocery has a stanger paying for her few items after realising she'd left her wallet on the kitchen counter at home, locking eyes on the stranger she doesn't see the scars like everyone else does. She sees a beautiful man with such sadness in his eyes. She's heard the whispers around town towards the recluse with scars that mar most of his body but has never encountered him until now.
➽ We'll never forget the ones we love, they'll be with us always, but we need to learn to live without them, to not let the pain of their loss rule our lives.
Out visiting a close elderly friend with the kids outside of town she's unprepared for the thickness of the snow falling down and dodging a fox running out in front of her truck has her careening off the road. No phone coverage and clearly no surrounding houses in sight she's out of her mind with worry, luckily enough she's rescued by the beautiful man with the scars, unluckily for him they have to take up residence in his house for four days until the snow clears.
He's closed himself to outsiders for four years, ever since the death of his wife and child he's become a recluse. Having these little people and their mother in his space slowly thaws his heart.
This was such a poignant beautifully broken story, my heart was overrun with so many emotions, being a huge animal lover my heart was full, getting onto the characters they stole my heart and made it weep, imagine a mother going through what Gwen went through in this book, a daughter traumatised over her father's heart attack, forever blaming herself never to speak from his funeral onwards only to send unanswered whispers to god to bring him back tore at my heart like no other.
➽ Please, God, just let my daddy come home. And please tell him I'm sorry. I miss him so much. I just want to hug him again and tell him I love him. In Jesus's name, amen.
Then Alex pretty much stomped on it with his grief of holding himself responsible with the death of his wife and child forever bearing the scars on his body as a constant reminder of the day he lost not one love of his life but two.
Painstakingly slowly Alex and Kelsey slowly mend, piece by broken piece of themselves as they let the other in to throw some light onto the darkness that had engulfed them for so long.
A slow burn love rises up from the ashes between Gwen and Alex, I loved how she stayed vigilant in her stance to win him over, I loved the push and pull she garnered on his emotions. I loved how the author reeled me in and kept me eating up her words right till the end.
This gave me all those warm and fuzzy feels we all try and chase in a book, such a beautiful heartfelt rollercoaster of a ride
If you're after something a wee bit different and unique in every way I highly recommend this!!
It all started with one glimpse of a man solitarily sitting on a park bench in the cold, smoking a cigarette deep in thought that spoke to Layla's inner loneliness. To the next day seeing him at the college library, to seeing him again and following him to a classroom and being gobsmacked that he wasn't a like minded student but a Poetry Professor.
My heart is not an organ It’s more than that My heart is an animal - a chameleon
A class she's not even enrolled in but nothing is going to keep her away, she's relentless in her pursuit of him.
➼ Somehow, someway, I have developed a crush on him. I know he's married. I know he's an asshole, rude and mean and some kind of a genius poet-but maybe that's the appeal.
As you progress further into this book you can feel that underlying taboo energy oozing off the pages transpiring between the student trespasser and the Poetry Professor, tingles down the spine with each stolen glance, touch, spoken words only they hear, sneaky nights stalking hidden behind the veil of darkness. He's married, they have a child together, but no matter what grounds him at home when it comes to Layla everything is profoundly forbidden.
➼ Thomas Abrams is a firebreather. He breathes flames and lust, makes me forget everything and say yes. Yes to obsession. Yes to stalking. Yes to insanity. Yes to licking.
✽ MY THOUGHTS: ✽ This has been one of the hardest reviews I've had to sit down and write, this author takes you on such a profound exhausting journey, leave your inhibitions at the door because there are no boundaries in this book, every boundary line you won't step over is left at the curb.
God where to start and not come off sounding like a woman on crack, the first half of the book I struggled with the writing style, trying to connect with the story, a slow set pace that was ever so slowly creeping towards the uncharted forbidden territory of teacher and student entangling themselves into a frenzy of lust, passion, a waking up of souls, as soon as I reached that half way mark I was hooked, it flowed better, the words just flew off the pages and left their stamp on my soul..
BEST BOOK OF JULY!!
This author opened up my heart and caused all my emotions to bleed out, The Unrequited was so emotionally raw, it gripped me by the throat, the heart and didn't let go. It's complex, it's gripping, it's unique, definitely highly recommended. Just go in with an open mind and heart, feel everything the author has put on paper believe me it is a journey you will want to take.
Holy fucking shitballs, bugger me sideways and back, bitch of a book to review, gah what to write, the author has not made it easy for us bloggers to write our reviews up without divulging any spoilers what so ever, so mines pretty much going to be full of cuss words lol..The frustration is real folks!!
DARKEST SUNRISE: is the first book within the (Darkest Sunrise #1) series by Aly Martinez. In this first book we met Charlotte, Parker and Tom who plays a pivotal role in this book. Two intertwining stories that collide in a gut wrenching climax that takes a hit to the heart.
CHARLOTTE How could a day go from good to bad so quickly in the blink of an eye? From saving a woman’s child to losing your own, ten years later and it’s turned into a cold case.
She's frozen in time not able to claw her way out of the darkness that tries to drag her down daily. The only thing that kept her going was Hope and her job as a Doctor running a Pulmonology clinic.
PARKER Three years on from losing his wife life stopped still and never recovered, the sole parent of two children, one healthy the other suffers from an illness and the only woman that can help in any way is Charlotte, but here's the deal she may be the best in her field at what she does, but the deal breaker is she doesn't treat children.
➽ “Two people alone in the darkness. No questions. No judgments. No faking it.”
Hitting chapter twenty three, all my emotions that I’d kept under wraps throughout this book came to a holt when I’d reached the end of that chapter, that’s when my heart flew out of my chest like a curveball on a collision course to my heart. My heart just sunk, one minute I was sad with the news that Charlotte was delivered by Tom then in the next breath I breathed a sigh of relief only to wonder what now? What a rollercoaster of a fucked up life she’s led, 10 years of not living, 10 years of just existing, to finally being able to breathe with an amazing man walking beside her to be thrown into a cloud of darkness again.
➽ Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me. LIES...
She’s just stepped out of the darkness into the light is she going to spiral down that slippery slope again only to never return?
I needed, craved, wanted an emotional read, this had all the bones to give me that, and it didn’t reach within and drag those out of me until I was nearing the end, so it was a slow burn climatic read, in the beginning I found it hard connecting with Charlotte's character, I empathised with her loss, but it wasn’t until she stepped out of the shadows into the light was when I was actually starting to see her. I see you now.
Holy fuckity fuck fuck, so yes I have hit the ending, yes it ends in one major fucking cliffy, did I see it coming yes I had an inkling at the beginning, but to read it fully in your face to completely understand it sucked the breath out of my lungs. So many unanswered questions that will all come in due course when the next book is released. God I need that book now!!
My review is like a rollercoaster going off the rails, does it make sense? Not really until you read this book. You have to read this book! Goddamnit just one click it when it comes out and read it!! Then I can laugh at you when your emotions and brain gets all twisted up..Sorry not sorry. So brilliantly written, a curveball that had me by the guts, an ending like no other, an emotionally invigorating, debilitating read. I highly recommend this!!
Hello Cover!! MY NAME IS KAT AND I AM A COVER HOE 😝
BEAUTIFUL MISTAKE: A sexy new standalone romance novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’
Ohhhh I loved how this started, being the wing woman to her friend drowning her sorrows over a cheating lying bastard at the bar they work at, she’s alerted by her friend that the cheating lying bastard is there in the blue shirt. It’s not until she needs to use the ladies room and sees him on his phone texting outside the males stalls that she gives him a piece of her mind.
Wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time. Mistaken identity. Right shirt, wrong colour, what her friend should've said was the guy in the brown shirt not blue shirt. The downside of having a drunk tongue that spurts out the wrong things.
"I said he was the good looking guy in the blue shirt, not the Greek god modeling one."
"Ava - the guy talking to Sal right now, right at this moment, is Owen?" "yes." "His shirt is brown, Ava. Not blue."
The next day sees her dashing towards campus running late knowing that the Professor she’s going to be working under for 14 weeks hates tardiness and locks the door once class commences has her in a fit of panic, not a good start to her day. Sneaking in which doesn't go undetected by the Professor who's got his back to the class writing up lessons has both of them gasping when they make eye contact. He's the hotty at the bar she gave a tongue lashing to. *Face palm*
➽ It was him. Holy shit. It was really him.Screwed I was royally screwed.
I loved the slow build up with these two, the funny feisty banter had me in giggles, his past we got glimpses into, the hotness that sizzled off the pages when these two took the plunge and did the deed. This man can dirty me up any day..
Tell me, do you want to ride me, be on all fours, bend over the footboard, or spoon f#ck. Or maybe you'd just rather sit on my face?
God I don't know what to make of this one, do I give it 5 stars or 4 stars, I finished it so I must've liked it right? BUT just like the heroine so many unanswered questions, and I too feel like I have Amnesia, this book is shrouded in so much mystery, who is she? We still don't know..Fuck it 5 stars it is, only because I really really need the next book!! Sucky Sucky authors who make us wait!! GAH!!
‘AMNESIA:’ is the first book in Cambria Hebert’s (Amnesia #1) series, and was my first time read by this author.
During one of Edwards nightly walks along the shoreline of Lake Lochlain he stumbles across a woman floating in the shallow waters drifting ashore. Upon reaching her he gives her CPR due to her shallow breaths. Looking at the woman closely you get the feeling that he knows her.
A nameless woman wakes up in the hospital, no recollection of her past, her name, nothing, no identification, a blank slate, all she knows is what the Doctors have told her.
She was brought in by a local resident nearly three months ago and is suffering various cuts and bruises to her body some due to her ordeal but others leave a question mark.
➽ You have some scarring on your body. On your back and legs, some on your chest. The kind of scars that are consistent with regular abuse. You were also malnourished and dehydrated.
It seems like she is suffering from fugue amnesia where a patient’s memory may come back piece by piece or all at once.
After the night in question Edward has visited the hospital every single night. Something keeps drawing him to her, is she his lost childhood friend? Is she Sadie? One minute he thinks yes it is her, the next minute he's positive it's not. A race to uncover her memories.
Mystery cloaks the island set off shore, the old widow who lives there in a little old shack, no one is ever invited over there and she only comes to shore for supplies once every blue moon to stock up.
✿ MY THOUGHTS: ✿ This kept me on my toes throughout like Amnesia trying to put her memory back together, flash back by flash back we’re still trying to figure out who she really is. Is she Sadie the young girl that went missing all those years ago, or is she someone else? You go into this book with curiosity you come out of it with many unanswered questions. Such a tangled web of the unknown, needing, wanting, seeking answers that will hopefully be uncovered in the next book in the series. So it kind of ends on a cliffhanger, with her identity still cloaked in mystery the only ones who know who she really is are not speaking. What horrors occurred on the island?
This review is going to be as spoiler free as I can possibly get it, just prepare yourself for one crazy crazy ride, Anthony is like no biker I know most men prefer guns and knifes this man has a machete which is an extension of him. Blood and gore, murder and mayhem, all go hand in hand harmoniously.
THE IRON TIARA: is a Nine Minutes standalone spin off novel by ‘Beth Flynn
Like a crazy woman on crack I was overly excited when I saw Beth Flynn mention that she was going to do a spin-off of the Nine Minutes series and couldn’t wait to get my hands on it, Nine Minutes and the others that followed were my all time favourites.
This starts off in the year 1978 and progresses through the years to present time
In 1978 - Anthony Bear owner of Native Touch Landscape and Design had recently learned from his book keeper that a client of his was in arrears of the sum of seventy thousand dollars and had skipped town.
This flits from the past to the present frequently and effortlessly, we get in depth knowledge of Anthony’s family history, where he came from, how he’d made his money. We’re also thrown back in time to Grizz and Kit and all those feels where these two are concerned are as strong as they were in the 9 minutes trilogy.
Anthony and Christy meet in an unconventional way, both are from different walks of life, she walks the straight and narrow and he breaks the law left right and center. He's the leader of a notorious motorcycle gang and she fits in having high tea in a posh establishment. As different as chalk and cheese, even down to the colour of their skin.
Christy is the daughter of the man that owed Anthony a shit ton of money, he uses her as leverage to get his money back, even if it means kidnapping her. But at what stage do the lines become blurred?
Slowly the captor becomes enthralled by the kidnapper, a soul searing deep to their bones undeniable connection that has them both reeling.
➼ With each kiss, each caress, each whisper they experienced a mating of their souls that connected their hearts. She invaded his heart, his muscles, his bones.
This book will put you through the paces you’ll be captivated within the storyline as soon as you open that first page. Love, redemption, vengeance, murder, and forgiveness all go hand in hand in this compelling novel.
➼ Two hearts connected with strands of gold. My heart will always hold. Safe by my side, you will always be. My forever love, you belong to me.
This ticked every single box I could've prayed to the book gods to cover, the dark, the grit, the love, the all consuming emotional turmoil this took on my emotions, the love I felt for these characters, reconnecting with old love #Grizz *sighs* Bliss, pure utter bliss. I was in the zone, my happy place reading this, life was put on hold, the phone went unanswered, the house looks like I've let the farm animals have a party, I breathed, lived, inhaled this book and most of all I loved every single second, minute, hours I spent within the novel.
LOVE MY WAY: Is a standalone romance novel by Kate Sterritt and is a new to me author but definitely won’t be the last. Set up in two parts, First we’re in the ‘Present’ then as memories assault her we’re thrown into the past ‘Ten year old Emerson’
What drew me to this first was the cover it definitely caught my eye, it’s gorgeous, then the synopsis hooked me more into wanting to read this and I know by that, that it’s setting me up for some sort of an emotional ride.
We start off in Present time we meet Emerson who has recently been employed at ‘Carries Cupcakes’ slowly chapter by chapter we see her slowly coming back to life again.
Then it swiftly jumps to the past as she reminisces (Emerson at Ten Years Old) about the boy who understood her more than she understood herself. He was just a boy who became her best friend He is, always has been, and always will be, my everything. and she was just a girl who wanted to be as free as a feather floating away on the air, a young girl focused on art, who one day wanted to be a famous artist. She created designs out of river stones ranging in size and colour. A story without words
Age Seventeen: Slowly their friendship becomes blurred as they fought their attraction. He was my compass and, with him by my side, I would never be lost again.
➽ I placed my hand on the page and imagined the feathers flying in the breeze, floating over the markets, over the town, and up into the blue skies, blurred white by the wispy clouds above.
➽ “For a minute or a lifetime, some people try to clip your wings, while others help you learn to fly.."
Fuck me sideways and then back again, going by the synopsis I was prepared to get pulled into a love triangle, and throughout the book I really thought that's what was going to come at me, but believe me when I say there is no cheating of any sorts in this book, that's the only thing I'm going to say because I don't want to wreck it for readers after me.
Being honest I was set at rating this 4 stars and I was happy with that rating, but then I'm coming up to the finish in this book and my world just crumbled down around my ears and I'm thrown head first into an emotional, gut wrenching, heart stopping journey that I seriously did not see coming. Reading through blurry eyes was hard, the chant through my head was like a broken record 'do not cry, do not cry, do not cry' to no avail drip after drip cascaded down my face.
➽ Let's make a pact to come back here on this sunset every five years, no matter what.
How often do we have soul mates come into our lives? Emerson is one of the lucky ones, though she doesn't see it like that, you see she's had two soul mates come into her life, but to keep one she has to say goodbye to the other. A heartfelt journey, a new beginning, a journey of self discovery.
WHEN LIFE HAPPENED: is a standalone romance novel by Jewel E. Ann.
An unconventional meeting between two neighbours had me giggling uncontrollably, twenty=six year old Parker Cruse has finally cut the apron strings and has left home at last, it may not be suburbs over from her parents house but right across the street into her grandfather's old farmhouse, just a stone's throw away.
Whilst enjoying her first night of freedom without mother hen looking at her over her shoulder Parker plays a joke on an unsuspecting neighbour thinking it was her mother come over to check up on her, a faked orgasm, a wayward dog and a very very hot neighbour. A very very hot married neighbour.
Her neighbour to the south of her Gus Westman
So there I was saying goodbye to all my morals and getting sucked into the crazy ride of stepping over that line from not cheating to cheating to getting caught up with all the feels this book was throwing at me when the author pulled the unthinkable!!
I just got a slap in the face by a wet fish!! My heart just plummeted, this author just pulled the rug out from under my feet and I’m left reeling with the wtf just happened moment.
Sitting there my mind reeling thinking that the author is cackling as she watches another of her victims fall at her feet, asking why? From this point onwards the story is flipped on it's ass and changes in an instant!!
Go into this book blind, do not sneaky peak at reviews, that is the best and only way to enjoy this..
Without realising it I’d been suffering from a major book funk book after book just wasn’t cutting it for me, run of the mill stuff, as soon as I started this I went into it knowing it was going to touch on the taboo side of cheating, and I was prepared for that, I wasn’t prepared for me to have my guts ripped out my ass hole though, that bitch hurt, but slowly the author put a band aide over it and chapter by chapter I got over the curve ball she threw at me, by the end of the book I didn't just love one character, I loved all three.
MY THOUGHTS: I loved how the author stepped away from how this could’ve become a predictable read, it became so much more than that. Buddy reading this with sonya from chatter books book blog and reaching that major twist in the story needing that moral support before I carried on yeah that bitch was blissfully sleeping so there I was walking towards the unknown by myself.
This book was unpredictable, soul crushing, and unique in it’s entirety. I loved it, breathed it, inhaled it, lived it, this book destroyed me, this book gutted me, I laughed, I cried, I swooned, this book made me fall so far down the rabbit hole of despair over losing one but loving another and feelings that I crave, need, seek from authors and this author just slayed them all. Yes I know this review is all over the place but right this second I’d just closed that last page, a roller coaster of epic proportions when life happened deserves more than my 5 star rating.
I know my review is vague and I've not thrown up an quotes but you'll thank me for that once you one click this come release day.

THE WAY BACK HOME: Is a stand alone contemporary romance novel by Carmen Jenner and is spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ After reading Toward the Sound of Chaos by this author I so needed to read Olivia's story, I really loved her in the first book so I was jumping for joy when I saw she was getting her own story because everyone needs a happy ending.
As soon as I started this I was drawn into the story.
Klutzy Olivia Anders was the new comer to the town of ‘Magnolia Springs’ where she was opening up a clinic called ‘Paws for Cause’ where she pairs up dogs on death row with broken down Marines who have served their country and have come home not as they left.
She’s expecting the Cottons to pick her up from town at the bus station, when no one comes to collect her she makes her way to the B&B only to be met with a broody, arrogant August who makes no qualms that he doesn’t want her there.
August got the one phone call he never thought he’d get whilst he was three hundred miles away from home soil, his parents had died in a tragic car accident and he was now the soul living relative in charge of his four year old sister.
My parents are dead. My little sister needs me, and I am going home to Magnolia Springs - the one place I swore I’d never return to.
August is a broody, war hero who served one tour over in Afghanistan for eight hell on earth months, he’s been honourably discharged, if he hadn’t of been hurt and ripped apart by an IED he would’ve been on the next tour instead he was returned home an echo of his former self.
I’d wanted to die a hero, and instead I was living life as a cripple.
What I loved the most about this was the simplicity of the story, she didn’t over dramatize things for her audience, she kept it real, throw in the fact that I’m also a sucker for animals, and yes if I’m being honest broken down marines..
So get prepared to have all the feels come at you with a hot headed Marine, a house full of dogs, two teenage boys, a piglet and the most gorgeous 4 year old you're likely to meet, and a southern girl who has a penchant for oreos.
➜ so Raw, so Gut-wrenching, so Emotional, so All-consuming, so Haunting, so fucking Good
Crazy loved BOOK#1: Set Me Free If you've not read BOOK#1 yet I highly recommend it, definitely worth a one click!!
This review is going to be as spoiler free as I can possibly make it, you need to go into this series blind for you to enjoy the full throttle of feels this author is going to throw at you.
SET US FREE: Is the second instalment in the (Bound Forever, #2) series by M.R. Leahy and needs to be read in order for you to fully enjoy this series. Spoken in ‘Multiple Perspectives’
For Emmalyn and Kodah being set free meant living in the real world, it meant living a life they always dreamed about together
You don’t have to back peddle to remember the previous book as this kickstarts off right where Book 1 ended.
It's been five years since Emmalyn and Kodah were rescued from the slavery that was finally shut down, they may have been rescued but they are far from free. Many dangers await them. Someone yet again is after Emmalyn, someone who knew her well. He knows where she is, he's just waiting or the right time to strike again.
Emmalyn is a patient at James Edward Hospital for the last five years where she’s been battling PTSD and trigger attacks, she’s spent five years lost in her own head, trying to make it in a world that only sees the damaged girl, five years where something more than a memory is missing from her life. Her brain is like an unsolved puzzle with pieces missing and scattered around, and she’s left foundering trying to put the broken pieces back together again.
🌟 Eleven years ago my life was taken away from me, and I never thought I would make it out alive. I thought my chance at living was gone. Five years ago I was given a second chance at life, but I wasn't really living. I was hiding, scared of what it really mean't to live.
Always in the background is a stranger that makes an appearance on the 26th of every month, no matter she she is, he is always there just on the outskirts. Who is he? Is he friend or foe?
BUT something in the back of her mind keeps telling her to go to California. is there all demons will be put to rest? Will everything be revealed? Will she find her other half, her soul mate?
Set us free is not for the faint hearted. It is a dark, gritty read, it has triggers, and hard limits for some readers, it is raw and will make you cringe in many parts and will pull you out of your comfort zone like no other book will. Heed the warnings.
M.R. Leahy has created such raw passionate, severely broken characters, each and everyone of them will pull on your heartstrings, and crawl into your heart.
If you're a fan of this series, then you’ll know it all began with Styx & Mae. It all began from this point onwards, when 12 year old mute Styx met Mae a raven haired beauty with the blue eyes of a wolf, dressed in a funny get up who is held captive behind a fence by a notorious cult. He vowed from that day onwards that he would find her again and marry her.
Trust and love and safety. And light. Light so bright and pleasure so strong that I did not feel Styx move beside me until his lips met mine and his tongue pushed into my mouth.
The love these two have for each other just pour off the pages and you can't help but get wrapped up in the feels that come at you full throttle.
He was the boy she was destined to be with, the boy who stole her heart, the boy who held the sweetest music in his soul, the boy with no voice, the boy who gave her, her first kiss.
My strong hard fiance, who could only communicate by song or sign, paralyzed by the spoken word, so perfect in my heart.
The infamous Hangmen mute of the Hades Hangmen, so different with her than with anybody else. To others he was aloof, silent, and menacing. But to me, he was loving, caring,a and the most beautiful soul in the world. The other half of my heart.
TO SUM IT UP: Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives' Nothing prepared me for the feels that raced through my heart when as soon as I started this I was catapulted right back to the beginning, right back to when I didn't know what was going to hit me when it came to this series, right back when I didn't know I would be stalking book after book after book, these two are responsible for my love of this series. These two are responsible for for every little extra thump I had in my heart. Nothing compares to this series. Like an adrenaline junkie getting my next fix, like a drug addict feeding that craving this book brought me full circle to why I love this series as much as I do. Each book has to be read within order..
How do I write up a review that does justice to this book? Answer is, I can't!!
‘SCANDALOUS:’ is the third book within the ‘Sinner of Saint’ series by L.J. Shen. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’ Edie is eighteen, Trent is thirty-three. Their story is not perfect.
The first time Trent had noticed Edie Van Der Zee was at a barbecue celebrating Dean’s son’s birthday, the second time he’d laid eyes on her was when he caught her doing a five fingered discount at the promenade where the rich frequented, now she’s right under his nose working at Fiscal Heights Holdings.
Edie was lost and floundering through life though she had been accepted to five universities out of state, but nothing in this world would make her attend, one obvious reason is her surfing, it fed her soul and gave her the oxygen to breathe, but the main reason was that the only person she truly cared about was right here in California and nothing could make her move away. Now her father has told her she has to come and work in his company.
There is no love lost between Edie and her father, a ruthless, heartless man that isn’t beyond manipulating Edie to do his dirty work, with a high cost to her if she doesn’t pull through.
Where Edie is concerned things don’t add up, but only someone with an eye for detail when it came to struggling to make ends meet would see all the signs, and Trent sees all those signs in colour. And he’s going to get to the bottom of it.
Trent Rexroth was the silent hunter who would circle you for hours, striking when you least expected it, A desolate panther, wild, quiet and slick.
Trent Rexroth is a hard, cold and calculated man raising his daughter Luna single handedly, they call him the mute for a reason, he barely spoke, a self made rich man rising up from the gutter to make a name for himself in Todos Santos, he worked hard for what he had and nothing and nobody was going to get in his way.
Life was not a game of chess. Life was fucking Jenga. You tried winging through it, hoping it wouldn’t fall down in spectacular fashion and bury you.
This book took me brutally captive and did not let me go, it threw everything that I could've hoped for, and more, the angst, the emotional rollercoaster of a clusterfuck ride was had, god the feels they just kept coming and coming, they never stopped, this series, this author, just gets better and better!!
You can't compare this series to anything else, you can't compare the characters stories to any other, this author is beyond talented!! Everything I love, I crave, I seek, I need, I want all boxes were ticked!! Trent is beyond my favourite, the silent mute that had so much to say.
This book was the best of the best!! I don't think L.J. Shen could've found a better character to match Trent, Edie was his equal in every way where it mattered, she challenged him where he needed to be challenged. She was perfectly imperfect for him.
I don't kiss. I fucking hate it. I don't do relationships. One last warning. I fuck rough. Deepthroating is a requirement, not an option
Trent made me swoon like a teenager, beyond alpha, a dirty sexual man who had the woman he bedded begging for mercy. But only one was his match, Edie, the teenager that looked like a goddess but had the sting of a bee, these two were heartless in their pursuit of the most tantalizing sexual chemistry between the sheets.
Warning:This book contains some dark humor, a lot of witty banter, and two characters making more bad decisions than good ones. Also contains adult themes, language, and graphic sexual activity.
This definitely lived up to the above warning!! First time read by this author and I LOVED it!! Finally my book funk was gone, Stylo Fantome has kicked your ass to the curb!!
JUST A LITTLE JUNK: is a ‘Contemporary Romance’ stand alone novel by ‘Stylo Fantome’
Fuck me side ways and back again because this little bugga is going to be hard to review!! This is completely unique in it’s entirety, I can not compare this to anything I have read, seen or heard about, this just got me out of the most suckiest book funks known to booklovers..This review is going to be a vague, no frills write up only because this book deserves to be read without any spoilers divulged.
Now onto the review.
Imagine partying your ass off at a club, doing your thing against a guy you’d just met on the dance floor, you get sooooo wasted you don’t even remember coming onto your best friend in the whole wide world.
Waking up to the mother fucker of all hangovers should’ve been the worst of it, opening the trunk of her car was definitely the worst moment of her life, and gazing down into a dead body just about tipped her over the edge, then realising it was the guy she was dancing up has three bullet holes in his chest yeah that's was a double whammy!!
He was her brothers sexy out of her league best friend, She was his friends off limits little sister.
All in the course of one fucked up weekend!!
Now it’s a race against time with her side kick Archer to retrace her last steps of that night, Who is he? How did he get in there? How did he die? And oh dear lord, did she kill him!?
Simple right, think again, where these two are concerned where things would seem simple to us are so simple for these two.
Getting wasted at a rave, dodging bullets, causing a fire in her apartment, you’ll have so many laugh out loud moments you’ll lose count. so many twists and turns you’ll get whip lash, loveable batship crazy characters that will leave you wishing for more, sexy moments that will have you claiming Archer as yours. I can’t recommend this enough. This may have been the first read for me by this author but it definitely won’t be the last. Cray Cray loved it!!
I wasn't really sure what my rating for this was going to be, but then I thought back to last night whilst reading this, the hours I couldn't sleep, putting down my ipad and willing myself to go to sleep only to have that voice screaming in my head 'Just one more chapter' one more turned into many more, 3.00am came and went 4.am disappeared too a few hours of sleep and I'm a walking zombie. But for the life of me I couldn't put this down!!
So here's the thing I can not compare this book to anything, if I tried to compare it to a movie the closest I could get to would be the 'Hunger Games'.
72 HOURS: is Bella Jewels first step into the Romantic Suspense genre. A second chance romance.
A deadly game of cat and mouse has our two victims Lara and Noah fighting for their lives.
These two had a heartbreaking tumultuous past, they had been together for over two years until Lara surprises Noah at work after walking into his office and finding a blond bombshell on his lap with lips attached to his, walking in and seeing that destroyed her, she hasn’t seen or wanted to have anything to do with him for three months.
But like a man on a mission he needed to explain what really happened. And he wasn't giving up until she listened to his side of the story. But before he had a chance they are kidnapped.
DRUGGED AND CAPTURED
Now they are thrust together and have been granted just 72 hours to find a way out of a dense forest before a sadistic serial killer will hunt them down like animals.
Once your seventy-two hours are up, I’ll come for you, and, like the good little players you are, you’ll make it fun for me. You’ll run. You’ll hide You’ll fight You’ll try to escape But you can’t. You won’t. I’ve made sure of it.
TICK TOCK Let the game begin
All we have is seventy-two hours before this psycho fuck comes after us.
To get out alive they have to play him at his own game, they have to work together as a team to out wit him, out play him, kill him!! Two against one the odds are against him!!
This psycho serial killer doesn't make things easy for these two, he's set up the perfect playing field, he knows where they are every single minute they are running from him, they have no weapons, they are on foot, hungry, scared, no place to hide, he knows every nook and cranny of the forest.
I know every inch of this forest. Every. Single. Inch They won't escape me. Tomorrow, I hunt. And this time I shoot to kill.
This book had me on tenterhooks the whole time my nose was stuck in this, if you didn't know the author was Bella Jewel you'd be in for one hell of a shock, this is nothing like what she's written before!!
For your overall reading enjoyment you must read Road to Nowhere first before contemplating reading this book. Ends Here is the conclusion to Mia and Creed's story
This is kind of going to be a boring NO FRILLS REVIEW because no matter which way I turn it would divulge spoilers, go into this blind, don't look at reviews, but go in knowing that this book will gut you, destroy you, spit on you then stomp on you leaving you a mess in the process. It will have you questioning WHY? My last word of word of advice go into this knowing that this author pulls out ALL the stops when it comes to giving us an emotional angst filled ride, grab those tissues because this one is going to hit you right where it hurts!!
The QUEEN of ANGST has done it again with the second installment of 'ENDS HERE' (Road To Nowhere Series).
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. ~ Helen Keller
In the ‘Prologue’ we see Mia staring down at a grey tombstone, despair evident on her face as the realisation runs through her mind that she will never see again.
Not one smile Not one I love you
All gone like a butterfly effect, taken away on a flutter of wings, leaving behind only memories.
Life was about choices. Good ones. Bad ones. It was the butterfly effect. Every action had a reaction. Once something was changed, you couldn’t stop the chain of events following. One simple decision could be the catalyst of chaos.
You don’t know what chaos this author is going to throw at you, but one thing she is known for is that nothing will prepare you for the emotional pull on your heart as only she can do.
ENDS HERE starts right off where BOOK#1 ended. Pregnant with Noah’s child, constantly reminded by her father that he still disliked these two brothers, he saw them as nothing more than biker trash.
Noah wanted our unborn child. He wanted to be a part of this journey. He wanted it all. A future.. A life.. A forever..Possibly with me..
Gun shots ring out.. Shattered glass..Bullet casing all around..Kidnapped taken right out from under Noah's’ and Creed’s noses, friend or foe??
What I liked about this is when you start reading the first chapter all that we’ve previously read is there, no need to backtrack, it refreshes everything that went down in the last chapter of the previous book.
Two brothers in love with the same girl. Two brothers at war..
Creed was still guarded, broody, and temperamental, and those were some of his best qualities. The man who I’d loved since I was nine years old.
I feel like i’ve been run over by a Mack Truck, this book took me through every emotion it possibly could, I feel drained, drunk on love for this book, or just drunk from the booze I wanted to consume whilst reading this. Like a yoyo up and down, loved/hated/screamed/ devoured this book. This author just gets better and better, there are no limits on what she can write. This book wrecked me!!
Still Waters is the first book in The Greenstone Security Series by Anne Malcom. I've only read one other book by this author so I'm keen to see what kind of journey she takes me on with this book!!
Lucy has been surrounded by the ‘Sons of Templar’ most of her life, so to see her living it up in her expensive heels drinking her fav margarita at one of their parties is the norm, she’s also sworn off men within the chapter, so when a hot guy with no cut walks into the party all claims are off.
Stop the freaking bus!!
’He was hotter up close. Way hotter. Adonis had competition. Shit RAGNAR from ‘Vikings’ had competition. His skin was milky chocolate, smooth apart from the peppering of stubble on his sharp jaw.’
* The author was not hurt during the write up or after this review at any time *
Ok as you were!!
In the beginning I felt like I was missing a big chunk of the story, nothing seemed to make sense, but after a quick glance at a review it’s stated that Lucy’s character was first introduced in the ‘Sons of Templar’ series, but that doesn’t stop you enjoying this story if like me you’ve not read that series you still get a grasp on her background and what makes her tick as you progress further into the story so that didn’t take that away from my enjoyment of this book.
Lucy has endured so much heartache, loss and suffering in her lifetime, more than any one person should ever have to endure, your heartstrings will be pulled in many directions reading through the suffering she has survived. In some aspects it’s hardened her towards finding love and this is where she's like an ice queen not allowing many to get too close to her. She's a solitary person, has one childhood friend she's unbelievably close too and that's about it other than her sibling but she's ok with that.

Instead of dreamin' about the woman with skin as white as snow, hair as black as night, a vocabulary that would make a sailor blush and a pussy that would start fuckin' wars- ones I'd fight and win in by the way, instead of dreaming of her. I'm literally living my fuckin' dream.
Being a kiwi myself it was nice reading about a hot kiwi male those are few and far between when it comes to books and boy this man puts all other men to shame, he’s as alpha as they come, when he sets his mind on something nothing gets in his way!! NOTHING!!
“I meet a girl with hair as black as night, skin as white as snow, lips to make a priest forget his vows and a body that a certain soldier can’t seem to get out of his mind”
Lucy or Snow as Keltan aptly names her is a stubborn sassy, sexy heroine and Keltan our hot kiwi fella, is an ex soldier and a very determined man when it comes to Lucy who doesn't back off when many a man would.
You're broken too. Not in a way I can fix, though I'd give a fuckin' limb to do so. I was right in thinking you were royalty, babe. A kind of princess. But not one any man can save. You've gotta save yourself. I've gotta let you. I'll wait. And hope that's gonna happen in time for you to realise that you're not the only one who's broken. And you're not the only one you need to fix.
I don’t want to give too much away with the storyline but I highly suggest come release day you grab that credit card out, blow the cobwebs off it and one click this!!
