Before I get into my review of this book I“And that's when I realize that, at the end, we'd all wish for the same thing. Just a little more time."
Before I get into my review of this book I figured I’d remind you about what happened in the last book in case you don’t remember, if you do just skip the next paragraph.
Hideo Tanaka created a virtual reality game called Warcross that took the world by storm. Emika Chen hacked the game, but unfortunately was revealed to the world as her hack’s invisibility dropped for a second. Instead of being imprisoned, Hideo offers Emika a job to find out who's trying to sabotage his work. Emika Chen is chosen as the wildcard of the Phoenix Riders and tries to find the culprit while playing the game. Quick recap of the team: Asher is the captain, Hammie is the Thief, Roshan is the Shield, and Emika is the architect. And side note, Tremaine is Roshan’s ex who left the Phoenix Riders a while ago. Emika finds out that a guy called Zero is the saboteur, and is probably Hideo’s long lost brother who was kidnapped when he was a child. Emika gets to know that Hideo's new NeuroLink lenses are going to be used to control the minds of just about everyone in the world in an attempt to put an end to all crime and bad intentions, Emika is shocked that the man she fell in love with could do such a thing.
This book is nothing like the last one. Warcross was our introduction to this world, Emika Chen, and the underlying plot which was going to drive the second book. But this book, while being driven by that plotline, is so much more in terms of emotion, the past, and heartbreak. We see Asher, Hammie, and Roshan helping Emika figure out what she should do to put an end to Hideo’s algorithm. Emika is reluctant in joining Zero because his means and motive are unclear. In this book we definitely see a lot more of Zero and the people who help him, and they play a huge role in directing this story forward.
Emika, the Phoenix Riders, Zero, and anyone who is not under Hideo’s control are only being able to do so because they still use the beta lenses and haven’t shifted to the new ones. But while they presently retain their freedom, it won't last for long unless they figure out how to destroy the algorithm before the final day of the Warcross closing ceremony because on that day the beta lenses too will be patched into the algorithm.
Emika struggles with her feelings for Hideo and wants to convince him to put an end to his algorithm. Neither of them are over each other. Tremaine plays a slightly bigger role in this book than the last one and we find out why he left the Phoenix Riders. We learn a few new things about Roshan’s family and his past with Tremaine. And there's not much more to say that doesn’t spoil the book.
The characters are amazing and are perfect for the roles they play in the story. The plot moves forward steadily as each chapter reveals a little more information about the plot that we didn't already know from Warcross. Despite being spread out so evenly I must say chapter 20 has emotionally scarred me for life, that chapter is just too much to handle and everything just hits you ten times harder than you expected it too. Chapter 32 was pretty bad too but nothing beats 20.
Wildcard moved forward in ways I didn't anticipate at all. When I finished Warcross I had pictured this book going in a certain direction, which was pretty obvious to anyone who read Warcross, but this blew my expectations out of the water and didn't fail to surprise me. The ending, especially, made me extremely happy because I felt like Marie Lu could have taken this story to much grey-er, sadder finish, but while every single word was jam packed with emotion the ending provides a ‘ and this world shall move on’ sort of feel which I loved.
So far, I have read Marie Lu’s The Young Elites and loved it with all my heart and after reading these books I'm convinced she can do no wrong. If you haven't read Wildcard yet I'm telling you that you have to read it. Its is a beautiful conclusion to a mindblowing world and I hope all of you enjoy it as much as I did. Just keep in mind that people can have ulterior motives, there's a lot of betrayal, and a few shocking revelations along the way. I give this book 5 stars and wouldn't change a single thing about it.

Normally,"The known is finite, the unknown infinite; intellectually we stand on an islet in the midst of an illimitable ocean of inexplicability."
Normally, I wouldn't be writing this review because most of the things I have to say about the series are usually covered in my first review, but right now I'm feeling so much emotion the only two options are to either scream for the better part of an hour or write this review, so here we are.
The only other explanation for writing the review for this book is that it’s… beautiful. It's ironic, really, because when I first saw that this series was written in interviews and diaries I thought that I would avoid all the heartbreak that comes along with saying goodbye to these characters because I probably wouldn’t get attached to them, now I realise that I couldn’t have been more wrong. Everything happened fast, I practically flew through this book, but now that it’s over I wish I’d read it slower to cherish every moment with these people in this wonderful story. But there is no way I will ever forget everything I’ve just finished reading.
This story, these characters and the enchanting writing that comes along with them will stay with me forever. And to the people who have yet to read this book or series, I highly recommend it and just beware of the last file of this book before the epilogue because you need to be emotionally prepared for that one. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking all at once, and I think that is the most deadly combination there is.
Over the span of these three books, we go from putting together a sleeping giant to starting an internal war to a whole other alien planet, and the whole thing blend together seamlessly. The personality of each character carries through to every file and it will leave you breathless. These characters are perfect for this story and this story couldn’t have been narrated any better. The plot was mysterious and alluring while the overall story remained steady and emotional. The writing brought out the best in the story and it clearly accentuates every single moment which is amazing. The time skips, however short, will keep you at the edge of your seat because the anticipation of what will happen is constantly eating at you.
The story is woven very intricately, not in the sense that there were a million plot twists, but that each incident and each characters’ perspectives were placed together so perfectly at the right time. I love the fact that the author took the time to add so many details to the book even though the book would still be great even without them, but those extra details are the cherry on top of a very intriguing cake.
The characters were each amazing in their own unique way. Rose, Vincent, Eva, Kara, Mr.Burns, the Interviewer are characters that will always have a place in my heart. I say ‘are’ because to me these characters will live on forever. I love this series beyond words and it has earned its spot on my favorites list. All three of these books get 5 stars from me and I highly recommend them....more
Even though it was written in interviews, journal entries, articles and transcripts, the details were never once left out This book is a work of art.
Even though it was written in interviews, journal entries, articles and transcripts, the details were never once left out and there was not a single moment when a certain interview felt detached from the rest of the book, which is extraordinary. All the files merged together very well and once you finish reading a chapter, the part of the story revealed in that chapter adds to everything you already know and forms a steady timeline of events which is amazing.
It was put together incredibly well, the amount of planning that must have gone into this book is mindblowing. The book is was very original and even though it was a new, the concept, the details, the facts, the science, and the characters were very well thought out. The amount of research that must have been done is tremendous. It is definitely very intriguing and kept me on my toes through its entirety. The fact that the story is narrated in interviews makes it all the more interesting because we don’t know what happened in the time between the previous interview and the interview you are reading till you get to the core of the interview you’re currently reading. It was a very engaging book the amount of theories I personally formulated is crazy. The entire concept was extremely well done and the Sci-Fi aspect of the book was one of the best I have read so far.
The story maintains its mystery throughout the book and even when the book finished it still feels like an enigma because no matter how much you read there always seems to be more to know. The integral concept of the book was carried out through the book very well and I hope it continues to do so in the rest of the series.
A young girl named Rose Franklin falls into a giant metal hand when she was young. And now Dr. Rose Franklin has been put in charge of finding out what the hand is and finding the rest of the parts to what will be a metal giant. Now, nobody knows what this is, how it got here, or even what we’re supposed to do with it. We can only hope that the giant is not a weapon that will lead to mass destruction.
The best part of the story, at least in my opinion, is the interviewer. We don’t know who the interviewer is and neither does anyone in the book. He maintains his anonymity throughout the book. He seems to have an extraordinary amount of power, not like magic, but in the sense that he has what seems to be an endless amount of connections in places of power. No matter where the book goes, the fact that the giant could be the strongest weapon known to mankind doesn’t seem to bother me as much as WHO IS THE INTERVIEWER?! It’s constantly nagging me in the back of my head and if I don’t find out soon I’m going to go mad.
The book is written very well and doesn’t lose sight of the plot. The science fiction concept is written to the point of perfection. Each of the characters play a major role in the story and I love each of them for what they bring into the story. The cover is beautiful in it’s simplicity and the title matches the concept flawlessly. I can’t wait to see where this story is going to take me, I rate this book 5 stars....more

This Sci-fi world is one of the best I have ever read, it is a work of art. The plot was very elaborate and thought out, the story unravels beautifully and I was not disappointed by anything. I have been waiting to read this book ever since it was announced and it flew past all of my expectations.
The book follows a group of badass female space pirates who make a deal with the dreaded General Cortas that might result in pardon for all their crimes, their slate wiped clean. The deal involves a mission that is close to impossible and it might just be the death of them all. Simultaneously, the leader of the planet Zen Ptera plans on starting a war as revenge for all the injustice committed towards them, with the goal of becoming all powerful.
The main characters in this book Androma, Lira, Breck, and Gilly are amazing people with great personalities, and a family-like bond I love. Even though these people have their strengths and are the best at what they do, they are each written in a very realistic way with flaws and weaknesses which makes them so much more understandable. I love each and every one of these people. We also see the world from Zen Pters’s perspective, which the book so much more interesting and reinforces the title of this book. I actually pride myself on figuring out the plot twist in the book when I was halfway in, but surprisingly it didn’t ruin the story at all I still enjoyed the ending of the book as much as I would if I hadn't figured it out. Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings did an stunning job, I loved the world, the story, the plot, the characters, the ending and even the cover is MAGNIFICENT. The book was absolutely amazing and I definitely rate it 5 stars. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE! I recommend it to all Sci-fi lovers, and I hope you like it as much as I do!...more

This book is one of the fastest paced books I have ever read, I flew through it and never once felt like putting it down. Marie Lu has just created one of the most interesting worlds ever. The Sci-Fi aspect is very dominant and the entire storyline is thought out very well. The characters are amazing and I especially liked Emi. I have only read The Young elites trilogy by Marie Lu, and Warcross is NOTHING like it. The very background of the story are drastically different. I loved this book and I recommend it to Sci-Fi fans, but even if you don't really read Sci-Fi try it out.

This book was definitely not a let down and met all the standards the previous ones set. The entire book moves quickly, but it got even better after I passed chapter 18. We enter new dimensions but also revisit some of the previous ones, which was great. A Million Worlds With You brings together everything we've learnt so far and ties the story together in an amazing finale.
The book starts of with the Marguerite from the home office taking over our protagonist's body. I especially liked the fact that the above mentioned problem is not dragged out, but rather used as a beginning to a book that moves way past it. Paul, whose soul was recently splintered and put back together, struggles with piecing himself back to what he was.
I loved the structure of the world throughout the trilogy and the plot was framed well. Getting to know the characters in each dimension added a great depth to their character and its potential to change paths. Claudia Gray opens our eyes to the fact that each choice we make, however simple, gives away to various outcomes and reveals a whole new course for our lives.
Just like the story itself, the covers of each book in the trilogy are marvellous and represent the nature of our protagonist and also provide a view of some the dimensions we visit, and they shall remain some of my favorite cover designs ever....more

Claudia Gray introduces the background of the story in the blurb itself and jumps right into the story. I loved the plot, the characters, and most importantly that heart attack-inducing ending.
The story continues with Paul's conscience being splintered by none other than Conley. Marguerite, the perfect traveler, travels into different dimensions to retrieve each piece of Paul's conscience. But achieving this goal isn't as easy as it seems and she might just have to work with her enemy to save the love of her life.
I have to award credit to the fact that the kind-of-love-trianle is pretty well written. Even though Theo knows that the girl he loves is in love with someone else he supports her endlessly, even while holding out a little hope that the tables might turn to his favor. Again, the cover is fabulous and a great representation of the book. I rate this book 4.5 stars....more

Usually, an author will take chapter or 2 to introduce the background of the story but this book just immediately starts off at the plot, but it also doesn't confuse you. I really liked the world Claudia Gray built and the 'Firebird' concept was very well written. The inter-dimensional travel is a very crucial element of the plot and is focused on heavily, which is fascinating.
Marguerite's parents are physicists who have successfully created a machine (Firebird) that allows people to jump into another dimension. Each dimension is a reflection of possibilities that could have taken place in our world. Some dimensions are very similar to ours, while some are completely exotic. Our protagonist sets out on a mission to find the person who murdered her father and is planning her parent's downfall. As I mentioned the inter-dimensional travel is very openly exhibited aspect and protagonist jumps into not just one but many dimensions, in which she discover the many paths her world could have taken. I really enjoyed this book and finished it in one sitting. The plot grows thicker as we delve deeper into the book and Claudia Gray does a great job in creating the Firebird element of the story. I love the plot and I rate this book 4.5 stars. The cover of this book is BEAUTIFUL and represents not only 2 different dimensions but also our protagonists love for art, so great job on that front....more
