Sal and Gabi Break the Universe (Sal and Gabi #1) by Carlos Hernandez was really fun. The characters and the sense of humor are what really makes the Sal and Gabi Break the Universe (Sal and Gabi #1) by Carlos Hernandez was really fun. The characters and the sense of humor are what really makes the story work. I also appreciated that it also tackles some tough subject matter as well. I honestly don't read MG enough and I should read more. I'm can't wait to continue this series! I think it could become a favorite....more

One recommendation for a baby's room from page 102 that really bothered me - making a valance out of sheets of yellow, white, and orange construction paper. Alternating between colors with some sheets flat and others folded into an accordion style pleat! And to top off your baby's window, add yellow and orange strips of contact vinyl to the white vinyl roller shade!! And for the baby's floor an orange rug with a yellow and beige border!!! Help me!

It does have a good sense of humor though and the audiobook narrators did a good job. It's a solid YA series opener, but I don't think I'm interested enough to come back for book 2. That said, I would like more of Sharlot's mom's story....more

Everyone really fits their original characterizations. I enjoyed all of the stories, but Mission 2 with Yuri and Anya's day out ended up being my favorite. It was also cool that we got to see a very short perspective on Loid, Yor, and Anya from the employees at a restaurant they frequent. I hope they do more of these Spy x Family novels in the future....more
