Note: For people who only know me for Mexican Gothic, I should warn you all my books tend to straddle different genres and have a very different feel for one another. This is very much a novel of manners and a romance, much closer in tone to Gods of Jade and Shadow than some of my other work and very far from Mexican Gothic.

So glad!!! I love this story and I'm grateful my local library has it but I'd love to have my own copy ♥️

That's what I like, good story, businesslike way about this novel. Would like to meet Silvia in person.
I definitely am approaching this as a novel of manners - I won’t say comedy of manners. Love being swept up in this world.
Every book you write is a surprise. This is what makes your writing so irresistible. My favorite will always be Signal to Noise, because it feels so personal and relevant to me with respect to culture and age group, but this one was great. The supernatural element was amazing. Thanks for great writing!
I absolutely loved it 🥰 I loved Mexican gothic and gods of jade of shadow but this is the 1st book to make me cry and be angry and happy and not sure what to do with myself lol thank you for writing this amazing book ❤️
Thank you for such a beautiful book. There are so many times that love hits you in the heart, and with it usually the drama and pain. I felt all of this and I could not stop reading this book. I love every one of the books of yours that I’ve read because they contain so much emotion. It might just be my bias but it’s been awhile since I’ve been this attached to a book:

I was trying to fight it because I knew it was going to happen, but I couldn’t, I got sucked in so hard core, this book was so good. I love nina’s cHaracter. This book made me want to get tearful at times
Ahhh, I wish I would have known that before listening. Lol. I kept thinking, “So when is this going to turn into a horror?” Haha it makes more sense now. ☺️
I hope that we see more Fantasy of Manners books from this author! I really enjoyed it and would love to spend more time in her world.
You are SO talented! I first read Mexican Gothic and loved it as I am a fan of gothic novels. Next I read Velvet was the Night which was so shockingly different from Mexican Gothic but I also love a good historical fiction so this too was right up my alley. I’m on to the Beautiful Ones to be followed by Gods of Jade and Shadow. I know I’ll be reading A LOT of your work and thank you for such a fun range of stories.
