While I am not sure how I feel about some of the motivations the author proposes for why these women stay in such unhealthy relationships this is still one of the best analysis of these events. Unfortunately I don't think it is limited to political people only and I think many women fail to find self fulfillment because of misplaced loyalty taught by a patriarchal society to be the wife's job. I find it sad for both the women and society as a whole when they are prevented from self achievement by an out dated societal more.

I received this book as part of a good reads giveaway but the opinions expressed are solely my own.
