This author did absolutely nothing to make me actually care about what was going on with and happening to our main character. Bad things were happening and I was told that this story was extremely sad and dark but I just didn't care because the writing style was so detached.
The story is fascinating and I wish I could have loved it but I am no longer reading books for other people and if I'm not enjoying something I'm going to dnf it 🤷🏻♀️

Yeah the writing style is definitely not for everyone. I enjoyed it because I usually can’t read things that depressing and the style alleviated it somewhat. I’m glad you’re reading for yourself :)
