There are slow parts in this volume but it’s jam packed with information about chakra natures and toad sage jutsu.

We already know from the last volume that Jiraiya dies.
Naruto then finds out that Jiraiya is dead after being summoned by Tsunade.

Ugh Tsunade… she lost another person she loved deeply.

Iruka loves Naruto it’s so sweet. I also love Shikamaru’s and Naruto’s friendship. They balance each other out.

The old sage toad invites Naruto to train in sage jutsu on Mount Myoboku, like Jiraiya had before him.


Itachi shoved a bird inside of Naruto’s throat

We go back to the night of the Uchiha Massacre, through Sasuke’s memories.
Itachi was crying.

Of course, Madara has his own plans with Sasuke, and is using Sasuke to his advantage.
They got Itachi out of the way. Itachi left a couple of traps behind so that would injure him or kill him, so that he stays away from Sasuke

Taka, formerly Hebi, become Akatsuki members. Although, they will be posing as loyal members while, Sasuke states, that they will be using the Akatsuki for their goal, not the other way around.

Taka sets out to find and capture the 8-tails jinchuriki.

Sasuke reveals his new eye.

The 8-tails is a formidable opponent. He wields 8 blades and he’s physically very strong.
But ugh his rapping makes me want to scratch my face off. He’s so much MORE annoying than I remembered.
He almost never talks normally. He’s always singing even about everything. It reminds me of Jess from New Girl on Fox.


Naruto’s is trying to bring nature energy into his jutsu. So he must sit still and learn how to acquire that.

Too much toad sage jutsu, and you’re turned into a damn toad for life.

I still wonder if hitting Naruto with that stick actually beats sage jutsu away…
I feel like it probably is just about breaking concentration. Regardless I like the old toad


Taka put up a decent fight with the 8-tails.

Sasuke got his ass beat and we see more of Karin’s power and why she’s important besides being a sensory-type shinobi.

But, come on… she’s just…
Karin seriously grosses me out. Girl stop, you’re embarrassing yourself to new heights.
I almost feel bad for Sasuke because of how much she grossly throws herself at him and talks to him in sexually alluring voices and mannerisms. It’s disgusting.


I love the cover page of chapter 410. It shows in a line, who was whose sensei.
3rd Hokage -> Jiraiya -> Minato -> Kakashi -> Naruto

What the fuck is up with chapter 411’s cover page? Naruto and Sasuke with lockets of each other??


The ending:

The 8-tails jinchuriki had retreated but Karin found his chakra and pointed out his location. Sasuke is on his way to him, and the 8-tails jinchuriki is screaming that his biju is about to come out.

Pain heads out to The Land of Fire to retrieve the 9-tails! I’m soooo ready for the next couple of volumes I fucking love that part of the series!!
