I got wrecked by this book and not in a good way...

So damn relieved it's over. Given how people loved this one and said it's the best in the series, I admit my expectations were HIGH and it all came crashing down. For me, this was the worst book in the series, so far. I wanted to love it but I simply couldn't.

The enemies to lovers vibes were irrelevant to me, as it just came across as mere banter. The banter was a bit forced and too much was being said without any reason. Insta lust is what possibly ruined it for me as it made me dislike Jax a lot. Look, I get attraction but I don't get the fact that every time he saw Elena in the first 60 pages his dick would start throbbing. Like please could you objectify her more?! I did however appreciated the mental health representation a lot. In fact to the point that both the stars are solely for that and maybe Elena.

Elena was someone I really liked. Her character deserved SO MUCH more than Jax tbh. Like the dude treated her so bad at times. Yes I know he himself was going through health issues, doesn't really mean he can't even apologize until the third act. Elena was a queen, didn't take any shit, called him out, respected his space and privacy. Basically, girlfriend material 🤌

Jax was not for me. I sympathized with his addiction and anxiety matters. I also immensely appreciated that the author incorporated this mental representation and did so pretty well. Yet, I do not like him. The whole first half he continues to think with his dick when it comes to Elena and by the second half when he started showing her some affection, it was too late for me.

The romance and ending both were underwhelming. The chemistry felt lacking and the two came across as friends who have sex rather than a couple. They did have occasional adorable moments, but didn't really do much for me.

While this was not for me, it might work brilliantly for others. But I still think Throttled and Collided were amazing compared to this. I kinda see why the next one is called Redeemed, cause if anyone can redeem this series, it's Santi👀

“Mistakes can be forgotten but wasted time can never be earned back.”

Despite having read only two books from the dreamland billionaire series, I can easily say that the writing in this series is wayyyy better than the one in DB (I still have to read Cals book) it's because this follows such complex characters who go through so much and the way their flaws and tragic stories are written make it so easy to like this. The mental health rep in this book was beautifully done and I like how these books do f1 justice and have a fine balance between romance and f1. I also love how this series established the whole ground work for f1 in throttled with f1 content consuming 60% of the book and then the ones later falling slightly more towards the romance but saving that end for the f1 bits so it doesn't get boring because sometimes when the couple falls in love the story gets boring but here the f1 content had me hooked. One final thing about her writing here is I love how she made the third act breakup likeable because I had zero problems with it and the way it was resolved was very well done.

“if we let the nightmares define us, then we lose sight of our dreams”

Elena was such a strong character who stood up for herself and took no one else's shit and I applaud her for that because we dont see female characters with backbone, who can come up with comebacks and are both bark and bite in romance books a lot but Elena was one of them, the way she did not tolerate Jax treating her like shit and trying to work her way around him and still trying to help him was well done. I also loved how deeply affected she was by her past and how the past played a vital role in her character development and her relationship, that how she could have related to Jax and Jax to he but both were so grief stricken that neither could :(

“I don’t need a happy ending. I need our ending. The one that might be messy and imperfect, but exclusively ours.”

Jax Kingston is a formula 1 world champion but beneath all the charm and rizz he's just broken and has mental health problems and to feel normal he uses drugs, pills and booze to calm himself which leads to him partying a lot and his reputation starting to get tainted after which the team principal of the team that Jax drives for hires Elena to be his PR manager, to keep him in check. I would have found Jax erratic behavior far more worse if I had not gotten attached to him so much because we clearly saw what was going through with him and especially his mom having Huntington disease and him coping with that, it does not excuse his behavior towards Elena but it makes it very understandable, also the banter between them?? top notch. I love how the whole time he was rude to Elena was because he thought she deserved better than him and that he could not be good enough for her and that broke my heart. Also that event that led to the third act was so damn sad and I understood everything that Jax did following that.

“I think I’m falling in love with you.” The words leave my lips in the faintest whisper. He keeps quiet for a solid minute. I second-guess myself, but he squeezes me tighter into him. “Elena?” “Mm.” I copy him. “I already know I am.”

The romance was so damn good!! it had the perfect amount of spice and honestly I was shocked by it because they were only three chapters lol I was definitely expecting more but the wait till we get there>>> also the heartfelt moments, the angst and the attraction everything was so beautifully done and not to mention the london eye scene because it had me fanning myself oml!! Definitely my favorite Lauren Asher book to date!

Overall loved it and would definitely recommend it<33

“𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡, 𝙅𝙖𝙭 𝙆𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧?”
“𝙔𝙤𝙪. 𝘼𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪.”

"Wrecked" literally wrecked my heart in the end. I really didn't expected this to be such a bittersweet and a heartwarming story.

The start was heartbreaking with Elena losing so much when she was just a kid. I loved the way Lauren used the depression and anxiety rep and didn't tried to use it just for the sake of plot. The way the characters helped each other heal was everything. It was messy and heartbreaking so many times but definitely worth for Jax and Elena's story.

This was an enemies to lovers though not so original one, but their sexy banter 🤌🏻 and the push and pull between them made me love each and every one of their interactions. They were hot ❤️‍🔥 but also wholesome and the cutest couple 🥹💘

“Looks like you got upgraded from PR rep to glorified babysitter. I’ve always wanted to live out that fantasy. Care to roleplay?” She taps her manicured hand on her knee.
“Only if you promise to go to sleep by ten o’clock.”
“It can be arranged after a good fucking.”

The writing well I must say Lauren has now become my auto-buy and favourite author though I had already bought her "Dreamland Billionaire" series last year but the writing in this was just simply beautiful and made me emotional with all the pain and fear both the characters felt. No cringe dialogues or useless third act breakups (it has the genuine third act breakup) just to stretch out the story but a perfect beautiful, emotional and a raw story. The characters were also written with delicacy because Elena and Jax were imperfectly perfect. They had been through so much but when they met each other they healed a part of their heart that they both thought was never possible.

“You can always talk to me. I’m here to help you.”
“What happens when you have to go away at the end of the season?”
“What happens if I want to stay?”

I loved seeing the other couples from the previous books and I loved how they become a family— ✨️ A FOUND FAMILY ✨️ Loved Liam and Jax's friendship so much and Caleb and Jax's funny and sweet dynamics. I loved how supportive and loving Jax's family was to Elena and how Elena finally found her own family and friends.

"The sun might seem as if it stops shining from time to time because of a cloud or a rainstorm or the nighttime, but it’s still there. It endures everything to nurture the lives that depend on it. You’re my sun. I don’t care if you’re hidden because of a storm or the end of the fucking world. I can’t live without you, and I can’t imagine a world where my son would want to either."

➸ Elena Gonzalez

The best character in this series and I love her so much. She is confident and strong minded even though she had a traumatic past and fears but she never let those slow her down. She's a badass and but she has the softest and kindest soul. She really is an angel considering how Jax treated her but she never treated him badly. Not once and not even when he broke her heart. Elena and I could be besties in real life knowing how rain comforts her. She's one of the best FMC I've ever read about in a book and there is not a single thing I hate about her. The little things she did for Jax and the way she never let him go even though she knew what they'll have to face in the future. She deserves the world and all the happiness.

"He lets out a rough laugh— one that fills my heart with a warmth I want to trap there. One I want to bring out of him every day until he grows comfortable with happiness and optimism. One I wouldn’t mind being the reason for every single day."

➸ Jax Kingston

The bad british boy who lives on adrenaline rush and Xanax. Honestly I didn't like him in the first half of the book because the way he behaved like an "arse" to Elena and treated her was bad and he didn't even apologise for a single thing. I started liking him in the second half of the book when he tried to share his pain and anxiety with the people who could help him. Also his inability to understand that he also deserves happiness was frustrating me. I mean I know but still he can't just take a Xanax and start treating people badly. When he was with Elena he was all "Marshmallow fluff" and I loved all the things he did for her especially when he bought her F1 nightlights because of her fear of dark.

"I don’t want to fall in love, but damn if her smile doesn’t make the crash landing worth it."

➙ Elena and Jax's relationship

Their relationship started as hate to love and even though it took them months to figure out their feelings for each other but I loved that everything between them progressed slowly and steadily and not until Jax decided to be better for himself and for her. Elena deserved that from him. They had chemistry and the spark and damn the forced proximity and passive aggressive just added more to their dynamics. Elena saved him but he also saved her.

“Jax?”
“Mm.” His chest rumbles beneath me.
“I think I’m falling in love with you.” The words leave my lips in the faintest whisper. He keeps quiet for a solid minute. I second- guess myself, but he squeezes me tighter into him.
“Elena?”
“Mm.” I copy him.
“I already know I am.”

"I don’t need a happy ending. I need our ending. The one that might be messy and imperfect, but exclusively ours."

I loved the small gestures they did for each other like Elena writing small notes for Jax and putting them in his pills bottle so that he can't take everytime anxiety kicks in, the F1 nightlights scene and the makeup challenge Jax did for her because she loved watching those videos, taking her to a date to see the hot balloons festival and how Jax gave her love and family she deserved and needed. Somehow they helped each other heal and push each other towards being a better version of themselves. Elena deciding to never leave Jax and be with him even knowing what the future holds for him. Their story was just so beautiful 💞✨️

“I wouldn’t want it any other way. Live a messy life with me, Jax Kingston. I want chaos. I want darkness. I want sunshine and rainstorms with you. But most of all, I want you any way I can have you because I love you.”

“Fuck the usual. I don’t want to be picture- perfect with you. I want to be a fucking mosaic, made up of broken pieces so damn colorful, you can’t help finding them beautiful.”

The ending was bittersweet but indeed a beautiful one. I cried when when Jax broke her heart and when he thought he doesn't deserve the future with her because of his diagnosis. I loved how Elena agreed to be always with him no matter what happens in their future. They deserve all the love and happiness and that epilogue— I LOVED IT 🫶

“I wish I hated you. But instead, you’re making me like you more. You pretend to be this put- together person, but you’re broken— damaged like me. And the absolute fucking worst is that I want to know your messed- up parts too. I want to put them together with mine and see what we create. So, I don’t know whether to run in the opposite direction or beg you for a chance despite how much of an arse I’ve been,”

Lauren, keep doing what you did with this book because you nailed it! I enjoyed this so much more than the first two books. There weren't any moments that made me cringe. The writing in this and the way that she portrayed depression and anxiety was beautiful.

Wrecked is the third book in the Dirty Air series. It is an enemies to lovers, F1 sports romance with so much tension, angst, forced proximity, and healing. Their push and pull towards one another, and their banter was sexy and made their interactions so much fun. This was heartbreaking at times and had me sobbing but also had me cracking up at others.

Elena Gonzalez is a PR agent and had worked closely with Liam previously. Now, a year later, she is hired by McCoy once again, except this time, she is contracted to be a private PR rep for Jax Kingston due to his most recent actions of passing out in a club restroom. She is to be with him for the season to keep an eye on him and to help make his presence in the media positive. But there is a catch she must be with Jax at all times, including living together. He pushes against her at every turn when she intervenes and tries to help him. Only she doesn't know what she's up against. All she knows is that he is struggling with something mentally in which he keeps a secret from everyone, even his closest friends. The more time that Jax spends with Elena, the more he realizes that he wants to know more about her. But how close is he willing to let her get? Will he let her get close enough to him that he shows his most vulnerable moments and the secrets he hides away from the world?

Jax Kingston stole a piece of my heart, and I’m not sure if I’ll ever get it back. And worse, I don’t know if I want it.

I don’t want to fall in love, but damn if her smile doesn’t make the crash landing worth it.

I loved seeing more of the couples from the previous books and especially loved the closeness that they have formed, creating a found family aside from Jax pushing them away at times. Sophie is the first of the friends that Jax confides in telling her everything. He tells his best friend Liam next, I loved seeing the bond these two have. We are introduced to Elena's best friend Elias, and he is welcomed into the group. As well as Caleb, who is Jax's biggest fan. He became close with Jax and Elena after she set up a meet and greet with him. Their interactions are so fun and sweet. Elena found a family within Jax's family and found friends as well.

‘The sun might seem as if it stops shining from time to time because of a cloud or a rainstorm or the nighttime, but it’s still there. It endures everything to nurture the lives that depend on it. You’re my sun. I don’t care if you’re hidden because of a storm or the end of the fucking world. I can’t live without you, and I can’t imagine a world where my son would want to either.’”

Jax and Elena have had traumatic experiences in their life. Elena lost both of her parents at the young age of twelve, and Jax's mom was diagnosed with an illness when he was young and he fears it being passed onto him, causing him to suffer with anxiety. It wasn't until Jax wanted to be better for not just himself but her as well that their relationship started to form slowly.

“Fuck the usual. I don’t want to be picture- perfect with you. I want to be a fucking mosaic, made up of broken pieces so damn colorful, you can’t help finding them beautiful.”

The things that they did for each other were so sweet! Elena filled his Xanax bottle with little notes that she had written so he could choose that instead of a pill, and Jax bought her nightlights to help with her fear of the dark and nightmares. I loved it when he got his friends to agree to do the make-up challenge with him because she loved to watch the videos while also supporting a charity. I loved the way that they did the smallest gestures for each other while also helping one another.

“I wouldn’t want it any other way. Live a messy life with me, Jax Kingston. I want chaos. I want darkness. I want sunshine and rainstorms with you. But most of all, I want you any way I can have you because I love you.”

I became literally wrecked at about the last 20% when Jax decided to take the test, and it came back positive. He pushed Elena away because he thought that she deserves a better future than what he can provide for her with his diagnosis. But Elena came back fighting for them and agreed to always be there through the good and bad times of their future. I absolutely fell in love with the epilogue because they deserve all the happiness in the world.

This book is about anxiety, healing and just knowing that life is fucked up at times and instead of trying to be in denial about it you should try your best to live your life the fullest. You know when you are reading a book and you just know these two characters are meant to be? That was the case with Elena and Jax. They were basically MADE for each other, put on the book world to find the other so that they can help, guide and fall in love together.

description

Plot
Jax has done it, the pills and the drinking has caused him to spiral out of control and he ended up humiliating himself in public and now his team has hired Elena a PR specialist to babysit him and make sure he doesn't get into trouble.
Jax had resisted Elena the last time they met because she was someone he knew would be able to see past his façade and he couldn't offered to even think about being in a relationship with her as he knew it would just lead to heartache.
They first became roommates, physically attracted to one another.
Then they became acquintence, physically attracted to one another.
Then they became lovers with Jax just waiting to ruin everything.

Characters
I first met Jax in Throttled and fell instantly in love with him. I couldn't wait to get my hands on the book on a bad boy F1 racer with tattoo's who is actually a cute marshmallow with a dirty mouth!
Let's just say he lived up to my expectations. I loved reading about his life and how he isn't a wild party animal but actually a loving son, an amazing friend and just a scared man of losing someone close to him.

And then we have Elena, who omg I love because she was one FIESTY woman. She didn't let Jax stomp all over her and always kept him in check. On the outside you will think of her as some uptight independent woman but actually she is equally broken and lost inside because of her past experience.

These two were just perfect for one other. Their banters, flirting and heart to heart moments were everything!

Jax steps away from me. “Learn to let go of whatever’s haunting you. You don’t want to become like me, ruining anything good in your life. Unfortunately, people like me don’t get a big happy ending. But you deserve it all. The dancing in the rain finale with some lovesick twat who can give you the best of him for the rest of your long lives.” He walks

Petition for Elena's wedding dance to be in the rain

ALSO CALEB

“So, Elena. Tell me what it would take for you to go on a date with me?” Caleb sits down next to Elena on my living room couch. A wave of possessiveness hits me out of nowhere. “Besides you needing to be the legal age limit?” “Ouch, mate. Age is only a number.” I cock a brow at him. “That’s what they all say before jail.”

Caleb wasn’t joking when he asked us to get dressed up. He shows up an hour later dressed in a suit and a bowtie. I stare at him incredulously. “Did you seriously pack that in your bag?” “Of course. A gentleman never knows when he needs a suit.”

I cough and elbow Caleb. “Tell her how pretty she looks.” He rolls his eyes at me. “Amateur. I’ll do you one better.” He steps behind the couch and pulls out a set of a dozen long-stemmed roses. The little shit is trying to outdo me. Although slightly irritated at the way Elena’s eyes light up at the flowers, I’m impressed by Caleb’s thoughtfulness. Clearly, I need to step up my game.

Side Note The book is really long (well for me it was) and because of that I felt like some scenes were being dragged. And then towards the end I was hoping we could have gotten a little MORE insight on Jax & Elena's life way ahead in the future, maybe 6-10 years, how it was in Collided. Like how they have been coping up with everything after so many years. What are they doing now etc etc.

But overall I enjoyed reading the book and just want to bubble wrap both Elena & Jax.

This one actually had a story and not like the previous books in the series where a boy met girl. Start messing around. They fell in love. The end. Their relationship was both fun and emotional at the same time. They’re probably gonna be my favorite couple in the series. They definitely have more depth that the previous characters.

I knew from the first book that the unhinged tattooed F1 racer is gonna be the one who do it for me. And once Elena opened her mouth?? How she has a reply for everything? How she didn’t let him walk all over her? He couldn’t find a better match.

P.s. every Caleb scene was so precious!!

Lauren Asher killed it with Wrecked. Best sports romance book that I have read. I haven’t been in a pit in 28 years, and honestly, I felt I was in one right back there and could smell the fumes, rubber, and overall feeling of adrenaline on the track. How talented of a writer to put me right back there with an excellent, emotional, witty, and gut-wrenching story. If I could give more then five stars on that alone, I would. Absolutely loved it.

I was not ready for Jax and seeing such a sensitive side of him. He is still the parting, self-destructing playboy we have read. Now we see more into why he is the way he is.

Elena is such a strong character. We read her back story, gut-wrenching, and still has some demons, even years later. But who wouldn’t? I am in total awe of how she handles every situation. I just fell in love with her. She is everything you want as a heroine.

Elena returns to fix Jax’s image. Jax, of course is far form thrilled and is trying to fight his feelings for her and keeps pushing her away hoping she would run. One thing about Elena she is a fighter. The witty banter and sexual tenston between the two are off the charts.

Jax’s eyes brighten as if our back-and-forth gives him energy. “I like your form of bluntness. Vicious words from seductive lips, my favorite kind of torture.”

Seems like I’m getting the better end of the deal with breakfast and a show.” “Oh? You thought this was for your benefit? More like I scheduled you two back-to-back interviews after your race because everyone knows you love the spotlight. Although the added blue balls to your morning is a plus.” She smiles wide.

So much torque between the two. Both keeping secrets and with their walls up. I was on the sidelines rooting for them. Once they finally let the walls down , Such a beautiful story, I felt like I was all over the track with eyes up. So many turns. With one secret between the two will they win the World Cup, or will they be out of control with a rollover?

I have to give it to Lauren Asher on the Dirty Air Series. Sports romance is a hit or miss with me. Asher captured the sport and wrote a phenomenal series and my souI. I never once rolled my eyes and couldn’t stand the heroine. I loved them all including all the side charters. Claeb is my favorte side charter from thos book. Such a hoot. Jax And Elena's book is my favorite of the series. If you like sports romance, I dont think you will be dissapointed with Wrecked. Side note have tissues on hand.

I received an ARC In exchange for my honest review.

What a special book!!!

I was very scared to read it, I thought I would find it boring but I found myself relating to it more than I thought.

Jax and Elena story is unique, heartbreaking, snarky, sexy and loving. Their banter was amazing and that stays when they are together, I love it.

This story was mostly about letting go and healing. I think they go through so much and i’m glad they found it and process it individually and together.

Love the group dynamics obviously and the new characters introduce like Elias, HELLO HE NEEDS HIS BOOK.

Overall, I love it and it made my cried a lot. It’s definitely my favorite one in the series for now.

this book took its title in a whole another level because it really did “wrecked” me lol

i loved the way both of the characters complemented each other. they both helped each other to be better, and they did it together but like individually? does that make sense? i hope it does because it was definitely like that. don’t even start with the nightlight and filling up the xanax bottle with notes scene. that two scenes made the story so memorable to me. it just saddened me so much to know about jax’s future, but what matters is that he got elena with him.

Jax's mom was the mvp of this book!!! 🫠❤️‍🩹

The first 50 pages from Jax's Pov really ruined the whole book for me!!! Cuz he was thinking with his dick every time she was around that it was supposed to be, i don't know lusting over her, but it was just TOO MUCH !!! Pretty much objectifying her the whole damn time, and i was annoyed, ngl!

OVERALL, I enjoyed the story, but not as much as i thought i would have.

This was the worst book I've ever read, respectfully. Even for a romance book which I usually to cut some slack but idek where to begin. The main character has no respect for herself, the random dialogues in Spanish were so out of place, we get you passed jc spanish. Jax was horrible, even for the bad boy cliché. I liked the idea of the author making a playlist for the book, it's just a shame the songs were awful. The idea that Ed Sheerans song are peak romance is sad. I create better scenarios in my head before I go to sleep. I'm sorry but this book was so painful

“You’re the biggest ‘fuck you’ from fate. But it’s not because I dislike you. It’s because I’m terrified of what would happen if I stopped trying to avoid you.”

i loved this book so much. this was a nice change to the series. i actually love when couples grow together despite their traumas and problems.

ngl i cried a couple of times in this book. every scene just made me emotional and i just felt for them so much.

jax and elena were so cute and the way they both opened up and found a place within each other was just ugh so fucking adorable. jax was a softie, and elena was so strong. ugh my heart. my fav line by elena was:

“Because in real life, we don’t start out as the strongest. It’s about surviving the little battles. Once the pawn makes it to the other side, it can turn into a queen.”

overall i fucking loved them and everything in this book, might actually change my mind about that rating idk yet but we'll see after the last book.

˗ˏˋ 4/5 ★'s ´ˎ˗

this probably would be a five star book, but i know santi's book is gonna be amazing so i have to save it 😅

My Thoughts
i absolutely LOVED this book. it was so amazing and i liked ALL of the characters. this is definitely the best in the series (SO FAR).

i absolutely adored so much about this book and that was a surprise. there was quite a few mentions of the other couples that were in the previous two books but we got no hint or anything to santiago's book which we got in the other two.

so, we all know about the nicknames and jax was calling her love. i absolutelyyyyy was blushing because fml.

CALEB?!? i would marry this man and he's not even the love interest 😭 he's the most sweetest man ever. in the story he is a 16 year old boy who is going thru kemo (i don't think that's spelled right..) and he gets to meet Jax thru make a wish foundation, which Elena sets up to get good PR for Jax. so i don't have the exact quote but caleb was hitting on elena (bless his heart) and he called her love because that's what jax does and jax was all like "that's my nickname for her" but anyways calebbbb, please please please get a book somehow your amazing 🙏🏻

i think i enjoyed this more because in the first two books every two seconds there talking about attraction and other things 🫣 but in this book there was not as much.

🏎️Jax Kingston🏎️
OH MY GODDDD. bad boy that's a softie 🤭

jax is british and has tattoos and an accent like my gosh i'm already in love 😅🤦🏻‍♀️

JAX is the most selfless man ever. he sacrificed his happiness for her time and time again. she was afraid of the dark due to her parents murder, so jax went and bought every nightlight (one is an F1 car) so she didn't have to sleep with the lights on.

i felt SO bad for jax. he struggles with anxiety and took Xanax because he always needed an immediate relief to his constant overwhelming thoughts and if he knew he was/going to have a panic attack.

i don't have much else to say about this guy because he's already perfect in my eyes 🛐🤭

🧩Elena Gonzalez🧩
okay so i actually loved her and for once the fmc wasn't annoying. (go you, lauren)

at the start of the book there is a chapter of elena at 12 years old. it's the day her parents were murdered and she was in her closet, hiding from them and that's how she developed her fear of the dark. i wish this was more involved in the story but still what we got i loved

i am so proud of this woman. she visits her abuela, (grandma), as much as she can even though she has all timers and gets elena confused as her mom. so she has to pretend to be her mom 😭

overall, elena is an amazing character & woman. she has been through so much and is still able to love the world and be able to love herself and others. 🥹

time to go read santi's book 👀

okay so everyone says this is the best book in the dirty air series and so after reading the first book i skipped the second and came to this one. i was honestly hoping to love it and it did not meet my expectations at all. i loved elena’s character, she deserved so much better and idk i just really hate jax. i thought he was a dick most of the book and a lot of the stuff he did especially at the part when he tried to push elena away was just so wrong. like i get it, but him knowing her backstory and wanting to use it against her was just not the way to go. and i felt like elena forgave him way to early idk if it’s just me. the romance was nice they did have their moments but i just never really felt for this story the way others did and i thought it was a little boring and kinda cringey. i loved throttled so i was really sad i didn’t enjoy this one. but anyways i’d give this a 2/5 stars

I have nothing but positive things to say about this book. I don’t think I have ever read a story quite like this. It was so heartbreaking but also so beautiful.

Jax and Elena were so freaking cute. Their little enemies to lovers moment made me so giddy. These two are the true definition of soulmates, they have both been through so much and I really admire their strength. I just love them so much.

There’s a reason why Lauren Asher is one of my favorite authors. She is such an amazing storyteller and I will not stop recommending all of her books.

Please make sure to check TW before reading this book. I hope you love it as much as I did.

“F— the usual. I don't want to be picture-perfect with you. I want to be a f— mosaic, made up of broken pieces so damn colorful, you can't help finding them beautiful.” 💛

3⭐️ I think because I don’t like sad books I may be a bit biased, but I didn’t realise it would be sad when I went into it. The characters where fine, Jax wasn’t my favourite but he wasn’t the worst mmc I’ve read so that’s positive 😭. Overall the book was fine but I don’t think I’ll ever feel the need to reread it :)

Oh goodness, I wasn't ready for Jax's book to be so emotional. He surprised me so much. Lauren really went there and wrote a super emotional and amazing story. She had me crying at the prologue and then tearing up so many times. My heart hurt so much for what Elena went through and for everything Jax was being put through too.

These two really touched me and their story was fantastic! You will love Jax even more than before once you get to see him and what he's been hiding from the outside world. Gosh there was so much to this guy with the terrible partying reputation! Elena was the calm to Jax's storm. To see them fit so well together, they each soothed each other's nightmares and it was amazing to watch them go from having this animosity and insane chemistry to slowly building a friendship where they shared their real selves with each other and fell in love.

Jax's did not make things easy on Elena. It was hard to open him up to a frienship, much harder to have him share his secrets and problems but bit by bit, with Elena in his life, Jax started to see all the possibilities he had in front of him and just seeing that hope in him made me so happy. Ugh, cue in the tears. Of course that was not the end... still many things to happen and gosh that one scene was brutal. My heart was in pieces for both these characters. Their pain was so real and it really jumped out of the pages.

Lauren Asher truly is an amazing writer! The way she wrote this story was beautiful. I loved Jax and Elena. My heart is with them. I think Liam is still my favorite Dirty Air boy though, however I think this is my favorite book, definitely my favorite story because it was so touching and real. Liam though, he was amazing and he continued to show that amazingness in this book. Seeing him worry and trying to be there for Jax, no matter how much he pushed him way *sigh*. I just legit love this whole gang SOOO much. I love that we get to see so much of everyone in each book. I'm dying for Santi, have been since book 1 but gosh I can't wait to see where Lauren takes his story and to learn who the heroine will be.

this was so hard for me to finish… but I did enjoy the last 10%. Review to come

Review on IG: @xojazzle

I was really excited to read Jax and Elena’s book because I saw so many people enjoyed it and I found their chemistry really interesting in the previous book! Elena gets hired for PR to help Jax clean up his crazy partying and playboy image. As a part of her job, she would be living with him and that didn’t excite either of them. She thought he was rude and he constantly kept saying he didn’t like her, but they had this weird attraction to one another. They both go through issues and have sad stories and my heart hurt for them! I loved them, however, I wasn’t a fan of their story. I was kind of bored from 30-70% of the book. I was stuck in the 70%s for about a week because I just couldn’t continue. I just felt like there was no concrete plot. We would jump from scene to scene and some things I felt like were so one step forward, two steps back. I felt like a lot of different plot points didn’t add relevancy to their relationship and I became bored and it was hard for me to finish reading this book. I loved the last 10% of the book and enjoyed a lot of the family dynamic in this book (both from Elena and Jax). I know this was well liked by many readers, so you may enjoy this, but this wasn’t for me! I’m excited to finish off the series with ‘Redeemed.’

Jax broke my heart multiple times throughout his story, but it wasn’t always avoidable. You can tell how much research Lauren has put into writing something so relatable with illness and mental health that you can’t help but feel everything the characters feel. You experience that pain with them. You don’t want them to suffer, you want to take their pain away. But like in real life, nothing is ever smooth sailing and I think Lauren did a fantastic job of staying true to real life situations and experiences that this story is only a testament to her writing capability.

Jax’s fame, his fortune, his life and limitations, they all play a part in who he is. Elena is a bad ass heroine, someone who was brought into Jax’s life to keep him grounded. She wasn’t a pushover and what blossomed between them was unexpected. Although they fought it at first, their chemistry and attraction towards each other only became more. Soooo much more. Not only did Elena save Jax, Jax saved Elena. They both had their demons, their secrets and their past, but they began to over come them together and found that love and strength in each other to keep moving forward, despite the odds.

Wrecked is by far my favourite book in the Dirty Air series and I’m wondering how she’ll ever top it. It was witty, tragic and beautiful, wrapped up in a snow globe.

“I like it when you laugh like that. But more so, I like being the reason behind it”

Also imagine a man being so selfless that he would give up the person he loves more than anything so she can have a normal future. I mean I also thought it should be her choice, but my gawd. Swoon.
