We are committed to making the OSCR website as accessible as possible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018. This accessibility statement applies to www.oscr.org.uk.
We try to make our website easy to use with assistive technologies by using:
- Accessible fonts and colours
- Keyboard navigation to access most of the website
- Plain English written content
- Ability to zoom in up to 400%
We also offer the Recite Me tool on our website, allowing users to further customise their experience. This can be accessed by clicking the “Accessibility options” button at the bottom of any page.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations:
- Some buttons and expandable links are not accessible using the keyboard. (WCAG 2.1)
- When receiving focus, links have insufficient colour contrast. (WCAG 1.4.3)
- Some interactive controls are nested. (WCAG 4.1.1)
- Some document formats, such as PDF and MS Word, found on the OSCR website may not be fully accessible. Where possible, we make documents accessible or provide an HTML alternative. (WCAG 1.1.1)
The content is not within the scope of the accessibility regulations:
The accessibility regulations do not cover PDFs published before 23 September 2018. Some PDFs published on the OSCR website prior to this date may not be fully accessible.
Preparation of this accessibility statement
This statement was prepared on 25 January 2024. It was last reviewed on 1 February 2024.
An accessibility audit was carried out in October 2023. The website was assessed against the Web Content Accessibility guidelines 2.1 (https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/).
The test was conducted using automated test tools, various assistive technologies as well manually testing the site.
