Information icon Hello, I'm DreamRimmer. I noticed that you recently removed content from Mentor, Ohio without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Mentor, Ohio, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. Thank you. Edit summaries

[edit]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Burning River Buckets did not have an edit summary. You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or to provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! -- Pemilligan (talk) 00:30, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Burning River Buckets

[edit]

It's not apparent that you've seen my response to you either on my talk page or at Talk:Burning River Buckets, so I'm going to copy our exchange here, too:

Hello, I apologize if I did things incorrectly, but I am the owner of the burning River buckets how do I go about getting you the accurate information about the status of my team? We have not folded and there is some updated information that placed on our page and information deleted from our page thank you for your help. Absolutely no rush. I was just thinking about it today. C.A. Buttons (talk) 21:37, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply][reply]

The primary issue with your edits so far is that Wikipedia relies on material sourced to published independent reliable sources. As the owner of the team, you aren't independent of this subject, nor have you cited anything published.
However, a larger issue is your close relationship to this subject which runs afoul of Wikipedia's confict of interest rules. Editors with a conflict under this policy are strongly discouraged from directly editting such articles; they are instead encouraged to suggest edits on the article's talk page by using the {{edit COI}} template.
I'm not experienced at giving detailed advice on these subjects. A good place to ask questions is Wikipedia:Teahouse. Reviewing the policies at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Reliable sources will probably be helpful, too.

I'm also going to add a templated message giving more information about the conflict of interest guidelines:

Information icon Hello, C.A. Buttons. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Burning River Buckets, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.
