== Template:Uncategorized ==

Hi, I can see you've added a lot of "<nowiki>{{Uncategorized}}</nowiki>" tags to tempates. This also adds the "Uncategorized" tag to the articles containing the template (See [[Music of Martinique|here]], [[Troop engagements of the American Civil War, 1864|here]], [[Ernst Streeruwitz|here]]). Please use "<nowiki><noinclude>{{Template:Uncategorized}}</noinclude></nowiki>" format, like i corrected [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Template:DanishEducation&diff=365546869&oldid=365422801 here]. == Stripping redlinks from navigation templates ==

Please stop (and revert!) This is a terrible idea. [[User:Andy Dingley|Andy Dingley]] ([[User talk:Andy Dingley|talk]]) 09:55, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

: Here's an example: {{tl|Ireland Steam Locomotives}} (and many other similar nav templates)

: These templates ''and their redlinks'' have value to WP. They represent a structured naming system and most particularly the links between an article name and the short-form presentation of this article within its context. This is not a trivial choice, and it's by far best set-up by an editor (or small group) working on the template beforehand, so as to do it consistently and appropriately. Later editors may then create the article as time permits, but at least its naming will have some degree of appropriate structure and consistency. Stripping redlinks loses these suggested names. Article names for these complex nav templates are difficult, it's a bad move to push their creation onto a variety of article creators one-by-one.

: Look at {{tl|LNER Locomotives}} for an even stronger example and the link <code><nowiki>[[GCR Class 9F|N5]]</nowiki></code> [[GCR Class 9F|N5]]. Without the redlink, how would the new article creator be guided to create under [[GCR Class 9F]] rather than [[LNER Class N5]] ? [[User:Andy Dingley|Andy Dingley]] ([[User talk:Andy Dingley|talk]]) 10:36, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

: I've raised some discussion of this at [[Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Trains#Stripping redlinks from navigation templates]]. If you can suggest a suitable forum re the redlinks project, that would be useful. Thanks [[User:Andy Dingley|Andy Dingley]] ([[User talk:Andy Dingley|talk]]) 10:49, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

== Logo ==

Hello! I received an duplicate message about the VeriChip logo, but if the Verichip Corporation changed it name, this is new for me... This is the reason to delete the image right?! Well i think I fulfilled the request on wikipedia about non-free image anyway... I think that we can keep the logo as an old logo of the company, we can see many articles with old logos in articles... Thanks.

All the best!! [[User:Light Warrior|<span style="font-family:Georgia;font-variant:small-caps;color:#63739F">Light Warrior</span>]][[User_Talk:Light Warrior|''<span style="color:navy;">Conspiracy?!?</span>'']] 22:39, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

== Dead Links==

Except for URLs in the External links section that have not been used to support any article content, please do not do not delete a URL solely because the URL does not work any longer per [[WP:DEADLINK]]. Thanks [[User:Reubot|Reubot]] ([[User talk:Reubot|talk]]) 10:21, 23 July 2010 (UTC)
== Salvation Army userbox ==

Hi Kathleen,

Thank you for contacting me! I like the userbox you made. I used to have a lot of userboxes on my userpage, but I ended up getting rid of all the ones that weren't directly pertinent to my editing of Wikipedia. I therefore don't think that I'll use the Salvation Army userbox on my userpage. It's good to see that I'm not the only user in the "Salvationist Wikipedians" category anymore. I would love to see a Salvation Army-related article up to featured status; at the moment, we don't even have any that are at good status. I may pick one to work on eventually, but I have other things to be working on at the moment. On a separate note, I notice that your talk page is getting fairly long and likely difficult for some computers to load properly. You may want to check into [[Help:Archiving a talk page|this guide about how to archive talk pages]] so that this one doesn't get too unmanageable.

Happy editing,

Meetup 12 June 2011

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that Liam Wyatt is in town, so we were thinking of doing a quick meetup at Brunelli's cafe in Rundle Street, Adelaide (at the Rundle Mall end, near the car park) at 6pm on Sunday, with a possibility of drinks afterwards. So if you're interested we hope to see you there. :) - Bilby (talk) 03:13, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to Adelaide Wikipedia Users Group meetings

Hi, in case you're not already aware of it, a group of Adelaide Wikipedians has been meeting on a monthly basis since April, with the aim of improving the scope and quality of articles on South Australian topics. We meet at UniSA's City West campus, and our 23 July meeting will have a guest speaker from the National Trust of SA.

This coming Sunday, 6 July, we will be holding our first Edit-a-thon. This will be an opportunity for new editors to come and learn either basic or more advanced editing from very experienced wikipedians, so if you know anyone who would like to get some practice, please let them know - and beginners will be very welcome. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
