Revision as of 20:37, 4 March 2008
This page is an incomplete list of proposed mergers. Anyone may list any article merger proposal here. This is optional, and it does not replace any of the other steps in the merger process. Please add the appropriate merger tag(s) to the articles before listing them here. See Category:Merge by month for all pages needing to be merged.
Guidelines
In general, this page should be used primarily to solicit outside feedback regarding mergers (particularly those of a controversial nature), or assistance with difficult or complicated mergers. Brief replies may be posted here, but lengthy discussions should be confined to the talk pages of the articles involved. After articles are merged (or a consensus that the articles should not be merged is reached), please remove them from the list below.
- If you want to show off your work, use the talk page.
- Category mergers should not be proposed here. Please see Wikipedia:Categories for discussion.
- For a complete list of articles with current merger proposals, please see Category:Articles to be merged.
- If you need help with renaming or moving, consult Wikipedia:How to rename (move) a page.
- For guidance on merging, consult the Integration WikiProject.
Current listings
Please list new proposals at the top of this month's section. Sign each listing or comment by typing: ~~~~
2008
March 2008
- Martin Millar (music producer) into Flim (electronic musician) duplicate articles on the same subject.--Danieltroy (talk) 20:35, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Armstrong (tickler) oscillator into Armstrong oscillator, duplicate articles on the same subject. See Talk:Armstrong_oscillator#Merge_proposal. —A 17:24, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- List of English monarchs and List of British monarchs. Discussion see Talk:List of British monarchs. Angus McLellan (Talk) 18:33, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- Outside Context Problem to Excession. Discussion. The 1996 Iain M. Banks novel Excession is the origin of this neologism and, so far, the only referenced work on the article. Although Banks' idea may be applicable to cultural anthropology, there is as yet no sign that the term has acquired currency. The merge has been challenged, however, hence this discussion. 11:18, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- Downtown Fort William, Ontario to Fort William, Ontario. The former is newly created, and I see no reason to have a separate article on this subject. As a matter of fact, I believe the former should form the latter's very core. --Blanchardb-Me•MyEars•MyMouth-timed 14:26, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
February 2008
- Recycling criticism into recycling. Discussion hasn't lead to consensus and more viewpoints would be welcome.--jwandersTalk 08:48, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Elasticity of a function into Elasticity (economics). It contains little that isn't already in the destination article, and that little would fit well there. Besides, if there can be said to be a mathematical usage of the term elasticity, it's not this one, but rather this one. Discuss here— PaulTanenbaum (talk) 06:28, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Aliens: The Computer Game (Software Studios), Aliens: The Computer Game (Activision), Aliens (1990 video game) to Aliens (computer game) Does slightly different games of the same film licence justify separate articles (three of them subs)? Each game could have their separate section on the merged article. --Nreive (talk) 09:27, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Data disk (computer gaming) to Expansion pack. The former article, which I started since FSM knows when, hasn't ever been significantly expanded. In contrast, the latter article is considerably larger, and even mentions video games. I still dislike lumping computer games and general video games together, but will ignore it for this matter. JIP | Talk 21:11, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Tennessee Squire into Jack Daniel's. Discussion here. Travellingcari (talk) 16:13, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Macquarie Bank into Macquarie Group. Discuss here. Ansett (talk) 10:54, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
- Isotope table (complete) and Isotope table (divided) User:Greg L has performed a merge of the two tables, each about 50k, into one table of over 100k. I am opposing it, and no other editors have commented yet. Please come to Talk:Isotope table (complete) and offer your opinion. Thanks, JWB (talk) 00:27, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- Yungbulakang Palace and Yumbulagang are concerning the same building, articles to be merged--Rédacteur Tibet (talk) 17:17, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sakleshpura is a dup of Sakleshpur
- Crown Casino into Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex. Discuss here. Ansett (talk) 02:53, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
- Steady state (disambiguation), Steady state (biochemistry), Steady state (chemistry), Steady state (electronics) and Steady state (macroeconomics) all describe, with varying quality, the concept of a Steady state, to which I suggest to merge them. Details at Talk:Steady_state#Merger_proposal. -- Mietchen (talk) 14:34, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
- Comradio into Penn State College of Communications. Comradio is the Penn State College of Communications radio station. I don't think the station meets notability to warrant its own article. --Daddy.twins (talk) 22:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- United Farmers into Progressive Party of Canada. Both articles refer to the same political party/movement. Reggie Perrin (talk) 20:47, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
- King Dedede and Meta Knight into List of Kirby characters. Currently undergoing merge wars and has large support on both sides. A larger audience of Wikipedians providing suggestion could help resolve the issue.
- Hazara (Pakistan) and Hazara Division. I doubt that it's optimal to have these 2 overlapping articles. --KnightMove (talk) 12:35, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Asshole (game) and Dai Hin Min. Both are variations of a card game which has many names and variations world-wide. See Talk:Asshole_(game)#Proposed merge with Dai Hin Min.--Trystan (talk) 00:51, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Barbershop chorus and Barbershop quartet into Barbershop music the first two are stubs and it seems to me that if someone searches for barbershop quartet, they are probably looking for the information about the form of music rather than just a brief definition of what a quartet or chorus is.
(talk) 02:38, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
- Fond du Lac Freeway with Wisconsin Highway 145. With improvements, the two pages would end up being redundant, as they will carry quite a bit of the same information. Perhaps a section dealing with the section that is known as the Fond du Lac Freeway would be in order on the merged page. Thoughts?TheBigFish (talk) 16:47, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
- Rosy Cross with Rose Cross. There is some discussion on their talk pages that one is distinctly different from the other, but little clear evidence. Lusanaherandraton (talk) 00:16, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Atheistic agnosticism with Agnostic atheism. I'm unsure as to which title they should be merged under, but they both describe the exact same belief. --Ω (talk) 13:08, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Water memory into Jacques Benveniste. The water memory article concerns itself mainly with a controversy over published research by Jacques Benveniste and presently excludes other kinds of water memory. —Whig (talk) 03:33, 2 February 2008 (UTC) No, I think the topic is broader & would overshadow the bio. DGG (talk) 00:33, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
January 2008
- Aculco de Espinoza and Aculco under the name of the latter. Both articles talk primarily about "Aculco" alone, and both articles have much repeated information. Stephenchou0722 (talk) 15:14, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- Portions of Paul Revere's Ride and Paul Revere - Former article was originally intended to be about the poem by Longfellow, as the edit history will confirm. It has, instead, become a lengthy article on the historical ride of Revere. Revere's article already has most of this information (but this one is better sourced, it seems) but an editor of both articles refuses to make the merge and is no longer responding on Talk:Paul Revere's Ride. Really just looking for further opinions on this. -Midnightdreary (talk) 14:46, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
- Buses in New York City into New York City Transit buses and MTA Bus Company: This proposal is going to be controversial, but the above two are the, with two minor exception, providers of franchised bus operations in New York City. A discussion has been started in the WikiProject where it is maintained. --AEMoreira042281 (talk) 03:50, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- Chicano studies and Latino_studies - I'm not sure what the difference between these two is. I don't really know the process. CallipygianSchoolGirl (talk) 04:39, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
- Vacuum oven to Vacuum furnace - I'm not an industrial chemist; would appreciate input from anyone who is! Discuss here. Gonzonoir (talk) 12:26, 28 January 2008 (UTC) -- Ovens are at substantially lower temperatures so the technology is different. DGG (talk) 00:34, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Klanbake to 1924_Democratic_National_Convention. Both pages start by saying that the two terms are synonyms. The merging requires a certain knowledge of the topic, which I don't have. Tcp-ip (talk) 14:59, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- Advance Party (religious movement) to Adhyatmik Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya. AIVV, as before, is the proper name for the religious organization, Advance Party is the colloquial name. --Lucyintheskywithdada (talk) 12:49, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- History of the word fuck into Fuck. Discuss Talk:Fuck#Merger Proposal. --SilyOlPooh (talk) 02:48, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- Centro / U.S. into Centro Properties Group. Discuss here. Ansett (talk) 03:26, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- Acne scar treatment into acne scarring. Discuss here. Aristotle1990 (talk) 19:56, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Balham railway station and Balham tube station to Balham station. Please discuss here --Mr Thant (talk) 16:36, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- NFL coaching trees into Coaching tree. The content is virtually identical. The latter contains no information on sports other than the NFL, which might differentiate them. Purplemouse (talk) 16:01, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Marxism in India into Socialism in India. Marxism in India is within the scope of the Socialism in India article. The article is not really about Indian interpretations on Marxist theory, but about the contemporary left movement in India. Thus they can be merged. --Soman (talk) 12:48, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
- Wee Care Nursery School into Day care sex abuse hysteria. The former's section of the latter is already 99% of the separate article, what's the need for a separate article? Travellingcari (talk) 01:41, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- There was already an existing tag proposing Basal thermometer's merger into Thermometer. In the interim basal was redirected/merged into Medical thermometer. I'm proposing that Medical thermometer itself be merged into Thermometer as it really is just a small section of a whole. Travellingcari (talk) 01:13, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
- Scripting programming languages contains the early history of Scripting languages, and was moved by this copy-paste move in August, 2005. It needs an admin to do a history merge from Scripting programming languages to Scripting languages. The target article has negligible history prior to the copy-paste move [1]. --Tony Sidaway 14:09, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Robert Jordan (lawyer) into Robert W. Jordan, almost duplicated articles - Shiftchange (talk) 06:30, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Nationalist Trinamool Congress to All India Trinamool Congress, same party, separate article was created by mistake. --Soman (talk) 12:04, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Alisa Bannings into List of characters in Nanoha, Article is only a plot summary with no real world context for a minor character in the series. VivioFateFan (Talk, Sandbox) 01:16, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Arf into List of characters in Nanoha, Article seems to be only a plot summary with no real world conrtext. VivioFateFan (Talk, Sandbox) 01:05, 12 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Penalty area with Football Pitch, The article penalty area appears to relate to one small section of football pitch and could easily bemerged in to the main article.--Lucy-marie (talk) 16:02, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Crimbo with Christmas. The former is just a slang term and could be included in the main article. ۩ Dracion (Level 85 Rs Player) ۩ 18:44, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Caprica (TV series) with Battlestar Galactica. The former is a proposed spin-off which is in "development hell." The article consists primarily of speculation and rumors. Clconway (talk) 06:23, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Golden Ticket Awards into Amusement Today: Niche industry award that receives little coverage outside the publication that gives the award and the industry. The main article needs fleshing out anyway. --98.204.112.111 (talk) 17:03, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Postbooks into OpenMFG: Basically Postbooks is the stripped down and differently licensed version of OpenMFG, so the two articles have a lot of redundancy. --S.K. (talk) 16:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- merge Wikipedia:Spoiler into Wikipedia:No disclaimers in articles. We no longer have spoiler templates on Wikipedia articles, and this is explained adequately at WP:NDT. It would make sense, therefore, to put this separate guideline page, which used to be an exception, into abeyance and redirect to the more general guideline. Equazcion •✗/C • 16:35, 7 Jan 2008 (UTC)
- merge Philippines' Next Top Model and Philippines' Next Top Model, Cycle 1. Since there is still no confirmation about a possible second cycle of PNTM, it should not have been split in the first place. And now, because of the "unpermitted" split, an overly-parodized and overly-vandalized article was created out of a hoax article that is Philippines' Next Top Model, Cycle 2. Star C Zamora (talk) 13:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- merge Paraceratherium and Indricotherium. In french the corresponding articles are already merged. Here the difficulty is that both articles in english complete each other. The reason for the proposed merge is that : larger more robust Indricotherium with larger incisors being probably the male, and the more gracile Paraceratherium the female. It make no sense to have to articles describing a single specie. It need just a reference that historically they seemed to be different species. 6 January 2008
- merge Green Line (Cyprus) into United Nations Buffer Zone in Cyprus. These two articles cover the same thing. Maybe Green Line (Cyprus) can redirect to United Nations Buffer Zone in Cyprus. Axel.fois (talk) 14:27, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- merge BookRelay into BookCrossing. BookRelay.com was an offshoot of Bookcrossing and is now defunct. Site has been closed for more than one year with the users moving elsewhere. I think the article can be greatly condensed into about two lines and moved into the main site. Travellingcari (talk) 21:17, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- merge Official Sinn Féin to Workers Party of Ireland. Same party, just different names. --Soman (talk) 20:51, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- merge Akatsuki (Naruto) into List of Naruto villains, the former article is merely an otherwise unremarkable subset of fictional villains within the programme. Lankiveil (talk) 10:20, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Hoboken (PATH station) into Hoboken Terminal: The articles cover virtually the same thing, and the Hoboken Terminal article is more descriptive, with information in the latter being the source for the former. --AEMoreira042281 (talk) 08:15, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Newark (PATH station) into Pennsylvania Station (Newark): Same reason as the Hoboken request. --AEMoreira042281 (talk) 08:15, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Merge Equisetales into Equisetopsida: Not necessary to have an article for every taxonomic level. Wikipedia is not a dictionary... Verisimilus T 18:38, 31 January 2008 (UTC)

December 2007
- merge John Cura into Tele-snaps, duplicated information; John Cura is exclusively known for tele-snaps. Rapido (talk) 14:35, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Union Flag into Flag of the United Kingdom (discussion), likely controversial merger. At present two articles deal with the the same subject in order to avoid edit warring over the name of the article. Propose that the "standard" naming of flag articles should apply - or at least have only one article on a single subject. --sony-youthpléigh 12:38, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
- merge List of German Federal Navy ships into List of German Navy ships in order to have the same information under one correct title.--KuK (talk) 09:20, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- merge Topsham (CDP), Maine into Topsham (town), Maine. Rather large amount of statistical information broken down to small subdivision.
Other CDPs could also be considered for mergers.Inwind (talk) 11:48, 17 December 2007 (UTC)
- merge Alt codes and Windows Alt keycodes --Karonaway (talk) 02:24, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- Two related mergers proposed, discussion at Talk:Ireland national football team IFA#Proposed_mergers
- Merge Tweener (professional wrestling) into List of professional wrestling slang. Article is a list of wrestlers who are deemed 'tweeners' and their usual tactics. This doesn't deserve an article. --EndlessDan 21:46, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Interstellar cloud with Nebula those are two articles about the same subject. Carsrac (talk) 18:13, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
- merge History of Ybor City into Ybor City, Tampa, Florida. Looks like an old copy of the main article, word for word in many parts. Filpaul (talk) 14:57, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- merge Resident Evil: Code Veronica X into Resident Evil Code: Veronica. Completely redundant article. Sabrewing (talk) 11:40, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- merge Xindi Council into Xindi (Star Trek). 1st was deleted before merge could be completed. SkierRMH (talk) 02:43, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Note, the merge of content was done from the last "good" page - looks like it just needs an edit history merge. SkierRMH (talk) 02:45, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- merge acrolect, mesolect, and basilect into Post-creole speech continuum. They are simply three points on the continuum. It makes more sense to discuss them in one place rather than repeat the same points across four different articles. jnestorius(talk) 00:35, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Chimarrão into Mate. After all, they're both the same beverage, chimarrão being simply the local Brazilian denomination. — Rsazevedo 11:07, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Advanced Mobile Phone Service to a history section in Advanced Mobile Phone System. It seems that the company represents the history of AMPS and nothing else. AMP Service (the entity) was [the sole provider of the] AMP System (the product) at first and has been nothing else since. Jason McHuff 08:06, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Good Times with Mo with Mo Twister. Former is primarily about the latter anyway, and has little context without the latter (i.e., Twister himself is really the focus here). Much overlap and the former needs massive rewrite anyway (I have attempted a rewrite of the first). See Talk:Mo Twister.Psinu 10:13, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge The Group Protesting the Murder of Mr. Nagai by the Army of Myanmar into Kenji Nagai. See discussion. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 01:43, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge The End of the World (animation) into List of Internet phenomena. See Talk:The End of the World (animation)#Merge with List of Internet phenomena. — Yavoh 18:07, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Crimping (singing) into The Mighty Boosh. Crimping doesn't exist outside of the Mighty Boosh in any significant form, so why should it have it's own article? It can be included in the main Boosh article. See Talk:Crimping (singing) Spunkymcpunk 15:48, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
November 2007
- Merge Notorious with The Notorious B.I.G..--Bren202 (talk) 09:33, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Comment Which notorious?--Lucy-marie (talk) 11:13, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
- Response Notorious (2009 film)....fixed the link--Bren202 03:37, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Permissive_free_software_licences into Free-software_licence. The latter contains a more extensive description of the free-software licences including the former. Paalman (talk) 02:04, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Anglican_ministry with a very similar article Anglican. Some of the information is the same. A combined article from a knowledable person would be a real benefitSpiorad (talk) 16:18, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Society for the Promotion of Temperance into American Temperance Society since they are the same organization just under two different names. Noneforall (talk) 23:42, 23 November 2007 (UTC)
- Merge Russia and Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq controversy with WMD theories in the aftermath of the 2003 Iraq War. Tremendous overlap. The former page is thinly sourced, dubiously named, and well within the scope of the latter. Please discuss. smb (talk) 23:20, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Australian Army Recruit Training into the Army Recruit Training Centre (Australia) article. Merge tag was removed by creating author (and replaced by me) so I am listing here. Discussion is taking place at Talk:Army Recruit Training Centre (Australia)#Merge proposal. -- Mattinbgn\talk 06:51, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Controversies of Rudy Giuliani into the main Rudy Giuliani article and a number of different sub-articles as appropriate. Discussion is taking place at Talk:Controversies of Rudy Giuliani#Merger proposal. --Bobblehead (rants) 20:04, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merge of Disney Subliminal Messages into the criticism section of The Walt Disney Company. Toddst1 (talk) 22:48, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merge of Jock sniffing into a section of Garment fetishism which could easily cover the small amount of information actually necessary for this topic. Edwards 21:51, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of sub-surface mining into a section in the coal mining article which covers this. --Ouro (blah blah) 08:18, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Army Intelligence into United States Army Military Intelligence Corps which cover the same topic. -TabooTikiGod 06:40, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Seen It All into See You On the Other Side which could easily cover the tiny amount of info there is --Crazy4metallica 05:02, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Fascist italianization and Italianization - a into a single article Italianization. I came upon this by chance. This article was in one piece until recently divided without any question or consensus. I tried moving the page back myself but I made it even worse so now there are three instead of just two pages. The first two pages are good enough for article with subsections (as it was), the third was my mistake and should be deleted be best of by being totally removed. --Raguseo 02:36, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Barings Bank collapse into the original Barings Bank from which it was recently hived off unilaterally without discussion. (NB: Originator of new article has removed appropriate templates) Alice.S 12:57, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- Alice.S was recently blocked for creating an attack page against me. She apparently has not learned from her lesson as she followed me to this page to try to have it deleted. She is not a party to the discussion. Jose João (talk) 22:04, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

- Tags listed since two months back on World Cup of Hockey, to merge with Canada Cup (ice hockey). Content heavily overlapping. Lejman 02:36, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Friction factor, Darcy friction factor, Darcy-Weisbach equation, Moody chart, Colebrook equation, Haaland equation, Fanning friction factor, Atkinson friction factor, Atkinson resistance, Hazen-Williams equation, Colebrook-White equation, Swamee-Jain equation, Prony equation, Manning formula, Hydraulic diameter, Friction loss, Serghide's solution into the new page Frictional pressure drop. There are lot of stubs of various equations relating to the frictional pressure drop (through pipes etc). I feel that it would be useful to combine the pages into a single article. Bluap 17:12, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Liquidus and Liquidus temperature. Although the first is written about phase line, in fact it is the same as in second article. Infovarius 14:39, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Blue Fugates into Methemoglobinemia. This was proposed a year ago by another user, but was incomplete. (The user added the mergeto template, but didn't list the merger proposal here or on any talk page.) Two editors, including me, disagreed with the proposal. I have restarted the merger proposal (discuss) to make sure it's handled correctly. Personally, I'm voting against, but want to give the proposal a fair shake.
- Proposed merger of different "ending" articles" (e.g. Twist ending, Happy ending) into a new article, Ending (literature). Reasons are :
- These articles have a large overlap (since they all discuss endings, they should be discussed under one single article)
- The articles on their own do not currently satisfy Wikipedia's guidelines on fictional notability, and should be merged to provide better context
- The individual articles are too numerous and of Start or Stub Class; merging into a single article would provide a more comprehensive article on the subject, without hampering quick access to specific types of ending
- Several of the articles use peacock terms to excess, and don't really explain the subject matter effectively enough. L337 kybldmstr 10:22, 10 October 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of MEGA Cosmos (Canada) into Mega Channel: There is already a section on Mega Channel about it's international broadcast called Mega Cosmos. The channel is the same all over the world, but in Canada Ethnic Channels Group will add Canadian content them selfs per CRTC requirement. I think that info can be easly added into the existing article. Also the channel is not owned by Ethnic Channels Group as the 1st article mentions. Planecrazy22 23:54, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- Reasons for merger:
- There are two other articles about previous incarnations of this frequency (KZQZ and KKHI), and I will deal with those separately. I will suggest KZQZ be deleted, but KKHI should stay, since it does have a pretty deep history, and can exist as an article of a defunct station.--Fightingirish 19:14, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Drapetomania and Samuel A. Cartwright. The former was a "scientific" theory of why people held in slavery ran away. The later was the person who came up with it. It seems to me that one doesn't have much notability without the other and they could easily be put together. Neither is very long. Steve Dufour 19:35, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
- Proposed merger of Hastings Old Town Carnival and Old town week into a new article titled Hastings Old Town Week. The Old town week article is weak (excuse the pun), but the carnival is a part of the week long celebration. I have found references and would be happy to do the merger/cleanup if no one objects. - Proposed merger of Malaysia Airlines Fleet to Malaysia Airlines. Almost every airline page has the fleet table in the article in a simple, easy to read version. Much information on the Malaysia Airlines Fleet page would be removed during the merge, as the fleet table in the fleet section of Malaysia Airlines already specifies the major basic information. This would be a very easy and smooth merge.--Golich17 18:45, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

- Proposed merge of Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (2003) and Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (AFSCME) into Professional Air Traffic Controllers Organization (1968) - There's some disagreement over which of the two current active PATCO unions is legitimate. There's really not enough to warrant three separate articles for these, and the main reason they've been separated here is to placate edit wars. One PATCO article can easily mention both spinoffs and explain the history of the current disagreement as well. Torc2 00:11, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
- Comment - Actually it's more complicated than that. Both unions are legally registered labor unions, so they are both legitimate. There was an edit conflict between two newish
WP:COIeditors, and it appears to be resolved with the untangling of the previously intermixed information.--Bookandcoffee 08:18, 6 September 2007 (UTC)- Edit wars are continuing with these. I don't think this issue is resolved, and still believe the best way to resolve it is with a merger. Torc2 19:35, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

The terms "interior design" and "interior decoration" overlap somewhat and are narrowly defined to apply only to the U.S. context as to usage because of the U.S. state regulation of the practice of interior design. - Maybe to be double check but I think the articles Cyclostyle (copier) and Mimeograph machine need to be merged because it is only different names given to a same machine. To have these separate articles, makes it so much more difficult when you are looking for any particular action which happens to have taken place in a particular year, when the articles are so spread apart. - The entirety of Category:Computer olympiads should be merged into its parent article Computer Olympiad. - Framing (communication theory) and Framing (psychology) should probably be merged; there was already a corresponding proposal on the talk pages, but apparently no-one felt competent to carry it out. Loaded language should also be considered, as it appears to be pretty much the same thing. The discussion is at Talk:Framing (communication theory). Joriki 06:47, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Binion's Horseshoe and Binion's Gambling Hall and Hotel. The same casino, just under different ownership. A section detailing the history and current status in one article should suffice. ⇔ EntChickie 04:19, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Thomas Lowell Tucker and Kristian Menchaca into one article. These were two US Army soldiers who were captured during an attack in Iraq and killed. TomTheHand 21:34, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
- Female suicide bomber into Suicide attack. There is nothing in the former that cannot be comprehensively covered in a general article Chancemill 11:30, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Shouldn't all the lawsuits on the Lowell page be on the San Francisco Unified School District page instead, since they're NAACP v. San Francisco Unified School District, Ho v. San Francisco Unified School District, and the Consent Decree applies to ALL schools in the San Francisco Unified School District, not just Lowell? --69.106.248.138 18:09, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
- Geosynchronous orbit and Geostationary orbit - Discussed and generally approved in 2004, but never implemented. --GW SimulationsTalk | Contribs | E-mail 14:39, 13 May 2006 (UTC)
- Personal opinion, since one is a subset of the other, they should be on the same page. However, no consensus yet. xCentaur | ☎ 19:34, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- Condensed matter physics and Solid-state physics, this has been proposed for some time with no conclusion. This is about the article merge not the categories merge. Rex the first talk | contribs 23:56, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Voice organ and Phonation. I don't know which way to merge - the latter is the better article but the former is a more familiar term. -- Djbb2 19:31, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- Having read Phonation, I think they should either be left seperate or phonation merged into voice organ, as the second includes the first. I'm no expert, though...Djbb2 19:37, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- Merge Westfield Bondi Junction,Westfield Burwood,Westfield Eastgardens,Westfield Hornsby,Westfield Hurstville,Westfield Miranda,Westfield Mount Druitt,Westfield Parramatta,Westfield Penrith, all into Westfields Shopping Centres in Australia. Individually these shopping centres are non-notable. Collectively they are an identifiable element of Retailing in Australia, and whilst they are notable within their own small community each could easily be a single section on a suburb/town page, and a similar single section on the proposed page Westfields Shopping Centres in Australia. Each current page contains very similiar lists of stores / outlets which are difficult to maintain as current. --Garrie 23:41, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- List already exists List_of_Westfield_Group_shopping_centres_in_Australia Is merger rqd? The pages are quite large, notable or not, and merging them together would make the resultant page huge.xCentaur | talk 12:18, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
